The Runaways [Teen/Powers]

Teens are on the run. Not ordinary teens. The ones with powers. They are being hunted by the most foul creatures that have set foot upon this earth, ShadowStalkers. They are also teenagers, but they choose to use their powers against the good.
Shadowstalkers try to capture those who haven't been 'turned', and drain them of their powers, so they they become stronger. When you are drained you become one of them, an empty shell that lusts for power once again.

Try to keep the genders fairly even
Can be cussing, not excessive amounts
Nothing too nasty, fights are to be expected, nothing excessively gory.

My large shire hooves thudded across the forest floor, which was dappled with the light from the early morning sun. I tossed my black mane, taking in my surroundings as I continued on through the vegetation, though the land that was so familiar to me. I had practically lived in the forest since I had escaped from home, since I had escaped from the truth, that was, regrettably unforgettable. my parents had shadowed me since the moment I could think for myself, and since then they had encouraged me to find my power, to let them inspect it from all angles. They were gone from my life now. I was no longer able to call them parents, more beasts, as they became twisted and contorted in their constant hunt for me. Clearing a fallen tree with a swift jump, I allowed myself a few paces before I stopped for breath.

I flicked my hair out of my face as the rain poured down on my bare muscles. The saturated mahogany locks draped uselessly around my face. I saw a drain and melted into water to drip through and, once inside the drain, turned into a huge slithering snake and tunneled my way through the drain at the speed of a huge express train. I liked being a snake, it was easy and people didn't usually bother you. No stupid extra limbs to juggle, just a long sausage to co-ordinate and breathtaking speed.

I flicked my ears casually, listening for any sounds. When nothing came to my attention, I morphed back to my human form and sat on the tree. Looking into the distance, I noticed some rather ominous looking clouds heading my way. Some odd splatters of rain started to hit the ground.

I slithered out of the drain. A huge smash and the drain cover went flying several hundred feet in the air. I morphed back into a human, but a fish would've probably been better in the circumstances. I glared at the sky and felt the warmth tingle over my bare skin. My trousers were still sodden so I decided to go for a run. I sped past Magpie's Electronics shop and I heard the words "freak weather patterns". More like "freak messes up weather patterns."
Oh well, I'm sure some mad religious nutters will make up some story about "Jesus prevents flood with miracle sunshine" or something so I wont need to make excuses for myself.

I didn't really want to have to brave the rain, but I had no choice. I put my hood up and made my way through the bushes and ferns, pushing them apart violently, almost as if I was bored of doing to. The rain started to fall harder now, as the black clouds rolled slowly over my location. A huge roll of thunder brought on even more rain, and soon my hood was soaked. Giving up, I lowered it, and let my hair get soaked through.

I super-sped through the town, but I knew that at this speed, normal humans had no hope of seeing me. Even at a slow pace I would've been a vague blur. I leapt onto the rooves of some buildings and dived into a cluster of trees. I gracefully melted down into a mahogany-fur cat without breaking my stride. A burst of thunder shook the trees and rain fell again onto my sleek fur and slid off my long agile tail. A glimmer of sunlight peeked through the trees and before I could properly register it, I was leaping through a huge clearing. My long slender limbs easily propelled me over the 300ft clearing at the speed I was travelling at. A dot of black was easily noticable underneath me through the green. I zoomed in with my impeccable eyes and saw that it was a young girl with jet black hair. As soon as my paws touched the tree on the other side, I climbed down to a lower branch to observe her.

I looked up as my finely tuned hearing detected a noise above me. It was just a cat...or was it? Looking closer, I noticed nothing odd about it at all. Shrugging, I continued to walk through the pouring rain.

The beautiful amber eyes of the dark haired girl bored into me for a second before she turned and walked on. My whiskers twitched and I clicked to talent sensory mode. Something in the young woman's blood told me she was not of human nature and a flicker of hope snarled in my chest; maybe I wasn't alone in my mind-blowing talents. I dropped to the ground and stalked foreward perfectly silently, before transforming into a huge mahogany lion and I leapt over the girl, before landing before her on my huge paws. I bored into her with my green eyes, and smiled a glittering white smile with my sharp teeth. "Hello." I purred gently. "I know what you are." I bowed my huge maned head to say I mean no harm. "I have been searching for you."

I let out an involuntary squeal as he landed in front of me, but passed it off as a clearing of my throat. My eyes widened for a second as the lion began to speak, but relaxed as I realized that he must be one of me. 'L-looking for me?' I asked, my brow furrowed. 'But...'
