The Golden Valley , Wild Horse open for everyone

Post  Dasor on Sat May 15, 2010 1:12 am

History

There was a time when a young stallion born to be royalty fled from the walls in which he had been prisoner in. The Golden Valley was a place like none other, large and open a waterfall flowing into a single river that wove through the grassy fields. There leaders were decided not by fights but by there blood status. You were born from royalty and you became royalty, born to just another herd member and thats what you became. There leader was fair however and the system worked. The lands were grand enough to keep within them both stallions and mares alike and none needed to escape the walls that kept the captive. None wanted to leave however, live without threat was good.

Unknown to most however they were hiding. Hiding from what was outside, more than just predators and the elements. They were hiding from others of there kind. They had enemies who would stop at nothing to find and destroy them. Kill the royals and all horses who had there breeding and take with them the rest. It was a rivalry that spanned out of hundreds of years and many generations.

Dasor was a young colt of three, he was to be the next leader. Ignorant and arrogant he went about his days unknown to the world outside. He was told however of life outside theses walls. He grew bored of life and seaked adventure. Taking with him three horses, all three his own age, all three his own golden colour. He escaped the valley and went in search of a new life.

His herd grew along the way, still all light coloured mares and he turned into a young reckless but independent leader. He lost it all however when he met his families biggest threat. They took from him his herd and Dasor was lucky to escape with his life. He was five at this stage and became bitter in a way only one as arrogant and proud as he could become. With his mothers warning of the old rivalry strong in his mind and his fresh encounter with them he set out to do as much damage as possible.

Seven years later and he travels alone aimlessly. Still with a bitter hatred in his heart but unable to do anything about it. This time he has come across a large open land. Arrogantly he has claimed it and paces its border almost daring another stallion to come in and attempt to take it from him.

Plot

We start were the history ends, anyone is welcome stallions and mares alike. Plots possibilities are endless.
Dasor's rivals ( played by who ever ) can come along and try once again to take over.
His rival might join his herd.
Old herd members might find him again.
Or it could be an open plot if you wish to play that.

Anyone can be anyone, if you want to be a rival then think of of his history and his plot tells us about it and we can play it. use your imagination and the possibilities are endless. We do need a strong cast of active players though.

Arrogant strong pillars moved the palomino stallion from space to space. His hoofs delicately etching the loose ground as he made his way aimlessly around his invisible borders. Truth be told he was bored, an emotion that came second only to the anger that often filled his body. Yet he was waiting for something, anything to happen. Something to ease his boredom.

Name: Raining Pride (A.K.A Rain)
Age: 4
Breed: Gypsy Vanner

Personality: She's rather shy towards other horses, but towards her friends she is kind hearted and will put others before herself. But previous events have lead her into a life of mistrust, and won't trust anyone unless she is sure of their intentions.
History: She grew up in a rival herd to Dasor's, ruled by a harsh alpha. When she turned 3 years, the alpha tried to forcebreed to her, leaving her with many scars, the worst one a 16 inch running down her right shoulder. She was pregnant when she fled form the herd, but the birth was a miscarriage. She was distraught, and has never returned to a herd ever since, afraid that history was to repeat itself.
Other: Loner.

Gypsy wandered along the stream. She stayed out in the open so she could see any danger. With her head high she walked around like she owned the land.Gypsy had once been part of a long line of royal horses, but was kicked out of the herd, when the lead mare and stallion found out she had talked to a rival horse. She lowered her head as memories of the herd came back. She missed her siblings and her mother.Gypsy shook her head clearing out the thoughts. She moved into a gallop and ran into the woods. She ran until she was tired then she found a place out in the open and laid down for a quick nap.

Rain wandered around, the feathers on her hooves swaying and floating around her well-built legs as she walked around the borders of a field. She snorted absent-mindedly as she lowered her head to graze, ripping up the sweet, lush grass and swallowing it. Her ears flicked back and forth as she kept an eye out for strangers. She didn't know if this was anyone's territory, but she hoped they would be kind enough to let a mare in to eat.

The wind changed, only subtly but enough to set Dasor up. It was growing colder signaling the coming winter would be a cold one, already the days had begun to grow shorter and his coat was growing thicker. Along with the wind came the scent of others, so subtle they were The golden stag hardly noticed them till he saw them. Yet they were there first lingering along the invisible borders then crossing into his land.

He had watched a light framed grey fae prance in some time before, curling up amongst the grass some time later, posing no threat or company. Dasor left her well alone, she did how ever give him something to ease his boredom. Something to watch and muse over.

The second came some time after, another light fae this time with a stronger heavy frame. With a slight snort Dasor was reminded of those heavy set horses back home. They were all to familiar to him. There were two unknown subjects lingering within his borders, that mixed in with boredom and an arrogant streak was enough to bring Dasor out into the open.

He was silent as he glided through the trees and into the open within seeing distance of the faes. Standing stock still amongst the tall grass Dasor stopped, head held high with a tail to match as he set blue orbs over both figures. Waiting to see there reaction.

Rain lifted her head as a figure caught her eye. Her ears flicked backwards an inch, wary of any stallion. She took a few paces backwards in the grass, her hooves making gentle thuds on the soft earth. Her blue orbs scanned the male, he presented no current threat, but all the same she was cautious.

Dasor tosses his head defiantly as the mare sent her orbs over him in blank searching gaze. He had grown accustomed to a solitude life and having others look onto him as an equal was something he wasn't going to enjoy getting used to. Striking out and scaring the earth below Dasor tossed his mane letting out a shrill call that rang lightly of the surrounding trees and cliff faces. This was his land and he dared anyone to challenge him. Even so behind deep blank eyes his head was tilted slightly in an almost curious position as if he was wondering about the mare who dared watch him.

( Sorry if my posts are a bit short :S )

Rain snorted softly and lowered her head again, but always keeping an eye on the stallion. She wasn't the fasted of runners, but her strong build and past experience had to count for something. Her ears still pinned backwards, she continued to graze.

Name: Mindy
Age: Nine
Breed: Arab
Frame: Light and nimble, perlino coloured coat, one blue eye one brown. White mane and tail.
Personality: Serious and strong willed. Independent but seeks out the company of others willingly.
History: Dasors full sister. Escaped some years after his disappearance. Due to past circumstances they must act as strangers to eachother.
Other: -

( Your posts arn't to small at all. Don't worry about post length just have fun. Hope you can read my horrible lingo and RP style )

Mindy

Her daggers just touched the ground leaving a faint etch into the soft dusty floor before being picked back up. She traveled over the ground as if it wasn't even there eager to get to the person she had been searching for since he had disappeared. Then without warning the trees stopped opening up to a large open space. In the middle stood Dasor, his stance as arrogant and proud as ever. Stepping timidly with a gentle nicker to announce her presence, before picking up her feet once again in a floaty trot, making her way towards another solitary mare. Stopping some distance away from her and with a slight bob dropped her head to graze. Excitement bubbling over but she hid it well.

Dasor

His ears flicked back, constantly alert for any sounds. He was rewarded when he heard the faint sound of wood against hoof as something moved towards the area. He turned his head sharply to see the intruder and even as veiled as they were he couldn't conceal his surprise. This new mare, she was kin. His kin to be exact. Nodding his head in acceptance as the mare moved into his land and waiting for her to stop. Picking up his daggers he made his way towards the two mares. Tail and maw held high and proud as he picked his way through the tough grass. Stopping within talking distance of the two mares. Eye blank of all emotion yet he could hardly hide his curiosity.

(It's not horrible Smile )

Rain stepped backwards again as another mare entered the area. Studying them closer she noticed that there was a similarity in the equines, something about them made them look perfect together. She shrugged away the subject and flicked her tail absent-mindedly. Rain moved her forelock out of her eyes with a flick of her head, and turned to look at the approaching stallion.

Mindy

A soft nicker of laughter escaped her maw freely, dropping her head quickly and burying it once again in the deep grass as to not give away any more. She was a stranger to him and he to her. So the fact that he moved along the ground as arrogantly as he had as a two year shouldn't amuse her. Yet it did all the same. Picking up her slender maw, grass sticking out from the side of her mouth Mindy studied the mare before her. She looked young yet had a learnt air about her.
" Names Mindy"
Her head tossed high in the air in a manner of defiance as she spoke. Yet her shoulder and tail were dropped acknowledging Dasor for her leader. She spoke to the mare yet her words were directed to both stallion and mare.

Dasor

Ears flicked forward picking up the hint of laughter on the air, yet he didn't react. He wasn't as surprised to see his fair coloured sister this far north. It was only time before his kind started rebelling against his kin and leaving the walls in search for freedom. He was far more interested in the heavy set mare who stood beside her. Blue orbs flowed over her frame freely, sizing her up. He recognized the build but had been known to be wrong in the past. Besides she looked young. To young to be carrying the scars he could see etched against her pelt. A slight nod of his head indicated he heard Mindy speak, yet still he remained silent.

Gypsy woke up and lifted her head. She froze when she saw 3 other horses. The mare got up quickly and stood there with her ears pinned against her head, waiting for one of them to try to attack her. Gypsy knew that if they all attacked her at once she would have no chance at getting away. She reared up defiantly and kicked at the air before coming down.

Mindy

It was quick, nothing more than a discreet glance in her direction and a nod of the head from Dasor. But Mindy understood as only Kin could. Only she who had been trained in the subtle arts of attack could have seen in the stallions everyday gesture what he had wanted. Without a second glance the arab picked up her dainty hoofs and moved in the direction of the mare who had sprung to her feet. She was more familiar least unlike the other mare she was built like herself and Dasor. Light in colour, but once again young. Stopping with talking distance the arrogant air filtering around her as she stood tall and proud, blocking out the sun from behind her. The wind was picking up now and it had moved her forelock over her one brown eye, leaving her remaining blue eye to stare at the unknown mare before her. Rearing and squealing would only bring unwanted attention to the herd. Young as she was she needed to learn to be patient and quiet. She didn't speak, simply waited for the mare to make the first move.

Gypsy's ears flicked forward as the mare approached. She looked slightly familiar but Gypsy couldn't place where she had seen the mare. The mare stopped a few feet away and just stood there.Gypsy studied the mare some more then she placed her,"Your part of the light herd!"She said.

Rain stood silently and watched the horses. She continued to graze silently, not daring to speak. She turned to the left so that the others could not see the scar on her right shoulder, she wasn't proud of it. Rain snorted and shifted on her hooves.

Mindy

Before the fae had even spoken Mindy spotted it. Shaking her head as to free her eyes from behind a veil of forelock. She searched the mare over, there were certain characteristics that separated the royal blood or royal decedents from the rest of the herd. Over the generations however these characteristics have been bred into everyday horses and there is no longer as much of a definition as there once was. To the trained eye however you may pick it, Mindy learnt well beyond her eight years could.

She cocked her head slightly to the side as the mare spoke, the surprise lingering in the others voice. She didn't answer straight away, instead let the words fall into thin air. She instead considered the dangers of having so many kin together in the same spot, so far from home. Dasor would like it little. Less he has decided once again to settle down, however she doubted this.

Yet lying wouldn't do her any good, especially to someone who recognized her so quickly. Not that it was hard with a mane and tail the same creamy colour as your skin. When she spoke it was hard and emotionless. Yet it held no anger or spite. " and if i am? These plains are dangerous to our kind, you understand that? "

Dasor
Watching Mindy from the corner of his eye briefly taking in the mare who had just stood up. He recognized her at once for who she was and were she came from. It was an impatient snort that escaped him, not the angry one that Mindy had expected. He was feeling generous as if he should protect what remains of the free light herd, not drive them away as he had done in the past. He didn't approach them however, chosing instead to stay with the heavy set mare, the one who made him curious.

Shifting his weight slightly he raised his head slightly in a sign on authority " I go by Dasor, and yourself? "

"My name is Desert Gypsy but everyone calls me Gypsy,"She said to the stallion and then to the mare,"Yes I know these plains are dangerous."She said and turned a little bit so the mare could see the scars on her shoulder. She had a couple of scars, but would have more if she stayed to fight other horses instead of running away.

Mindy turned her head slightly realizing at once that the mare was choosing to not only address her, but also Dasor. She noticed however that Dasor wasn't coming over towards them but instead choosing to listen from the position he was standing at. Mindy glanced briefly at the scars the mare seemed to be showing of proudly. Scars meant little in the scheme of things, one can gain a scar from a low tree branch. Its the mental stamina that these young mares lack. She chose not to retaliate however, she was past petty problems and arguments. Instead she chose to address another problem. " If thats the case, then why leave the safety of the valley? "

Rain started to walk off in the direction of the woods, taking care to avoid their conversation. She entered the woods, marveling the cool breeze that send her mane cascading around her. Smiling, she headed deeper in, untill she reached a small pool of water. Rain stood happily beside it, bfore walking in a few paces, sending numerous ripples across it's mirror smooth surface.

Mindy
Slightly taken back by the mares response Mindy snorted softly. They hardly ever kicked out a herd member for fear of them betraying secrets and history. Even so she didn't doubt the young mare. " Perhaps you would be best of to stay under the protection of Dasor, he i presume you know? "
