Lab Rat [Another Needed, Maybe Two]

A delicate figure floated motionless in a giant cylinder of clear liquid, an oxygen mask secured tightly fastened to it's face. Small chords were attached to parts of her chest, leading out of the tube. Crowds gathered around it as scientists studied it whilst it was still in a state of hibernation. The 'lab rat' was a female, humanoid creature with long, blonde hair. her sparkling blue eyes were hidden by her shut eyelids, evidently displaying that she was asleep. In fact, the only noticeable difference about her was the large pair of 6ft, white wings that protruded from where her shoulder blades were. the people muttered to themselves as the girl moved in her ignorant state, before the scientists shooed them away.

As you may have guessed, that figure in the glass tank was me. I'm not always trapped in there, but I spend a good 35% of my day in there. People call me a freak. Others call me an alien. Well they're right. You know the Roswell Incident? The alien 'landing' that the US called 'military experiments'? The one that the US kept under their belt for well over 40 years? Pfft. That was me. I'm not kidding. Exiled from my own planet under pain of death I fled to Earth, hoping that my humanoid shape would help me blend in. How I was mistaken.

I think it's time you knew more about me, and my species.
Firstly, my name is Aing. I appear 18, but really, I'm...well...905. I've looked 18 for a long time. Secondly, I belong to a race called the Tylurians. We're sort of close to you humans, but with a few differences. We have two hearts, one on each side of our chest. We also have extremely high I.Q, compared to you humans anyway.

It was just another ordinary say when I saw them. I was sitting on my bed, wearing some sort of gown I believed to belong to an Earth 'hospital'. Two holes were cut in the back, to let my wings stick through. They were new to the facility, I could tell because they wore blue robes, everyone else wore white. I watched them curiously, tilting my head.

He goes by the alias of Kitty. Thats it, no first name, no last name. Just...Kitty. Odd name for a male, but he doesn't seem to mind, he is an odd creature after all. His young, boyish appearance suggests he is around the age of Twenty, probably a little bit younger. Yet he does not keep track of his age, for he has been alive for way to long, age is just a number, right? He sports auburn hair, styled to hang down to his jaw and in his eyes, not much of a style, just...there. Natural highlights and the such though, the normal. Along with his boyish features, bright blue eyes sparkle on his olive toned skin, and full, pale pink lips as well. Built in an average way, long legs, a decent amount of muscle, but not too much to the point he looks..gross. On to his personality. Kitty is a quiet, withdrawn man. He doesn't speak much, and when he does, its something important. This being the case, don't mistake him for a pushover. He was quite the temper when he wants to, even the simplest remark can make him explode. Life was easy for him before though, so he has no real reason excpt for it was in his blood.

I watched them with curiosity as they walked through the lab, stopping outside the glass doors to my room. They were talking, yet the soundproof glass prohibited myself from hearing the conversation. I looked around the bleak room, and wished I was back with my people, when I hadn't done the terrible thing I had done.

[[ Mum took the puter sooner then I thought, sorry D: ]]

He kept his eyes downcast, simply listening to the words that were spoken to him without so much as a twitch. Kitty sighed heavily, nodding on occasion before looking up to the scientists and swallowing deeply. He had to admit, he wasn't truly listening, so when they asked for a recap on what had been explained, he kind of stuttered and blinked blankly, feeling his cheeks grow warm.

I watched silently as other scientists entered the room form another door opposite the one with the talks. There were about 5 men that walked in, one of them had something in his pocket, hence the rather large bulge in the small piece of material. I was no fool. I had been used to this sort of behaviour for 40 years, yet for all that time I had not uttered a word, not even to the people that pressed the questions out of me, using (I had to admit) rather primitive technology. 4 of the men stopped around my bed, the 5th pulling out a huge needle from his pocket. This did not surprise me. Without any hesitation he inserted it into my arm, and injected the clear liquid into my blood stream. Within minuites I was unconcious.

My vision swam back to me, although I had no idea how long I had been out. I was secured on my front, steel enforced belts prevented me from moving. I was in the same room, at least, it looked the same, 3 ivory white walls, one dark black reflective one. It didn't take a genius to realise it was one way glass. I was also strapped to force my wings open, they spanned the whole length of the room, and they, too, were strapped with steel belts. This was new, I hadn't been here before. Different screens were placed around the room, different infomation flashed across them, Heart Rate (I noticed two screens were used), and Brain Activity. The others I didn't get a chance to see as the men crowded around me.

He whimpered and watched as he was brought back to his room...cage would be a mopre appropriate term though. A blank, white room. That was it. A sigh escaped him and he plopped down on the floor, staring at the empty walls with a solemn expression as they set up for tests. Always tests. Kitty fell back, now laying on the floor and watching the roof before sitting upright as soon as the scientists returned. Two of them, escorting him away to another empty room for tests. Asking questions about simple DNA malfunctions and the such. He ahd to doa little more before he was actually allowed in the 'field'

All I could do was lie there and wait for it to be over. During the time I was in there they took blood samples, skin samples, and scans of my anotomy and brain structure. Another man entered the room. He was tall, thin, and was dressed in a rather impressive looking suit, with dark glasses on, so overall he looked like one of those MIB agents.
'Has she spoken?' He asked, his strong american accent clear and full of authority. They shook their heads.
'No sir, she hasn't. She's shown no sign of any attempt to talk, although she has a brain capacity far larger than our own.'
The man in glasses nodded.
'As long as she's sedated, I'd think it was safe to bring the trainees in here. They need to know what they're going to work with.' Great. That meant more people staring at me.

Just a quick test, that was it, then word spread that him and the other would be taken to the room and be around when they examined the winged girl. A sigh escaped his lips, and Kitty got to his feet, smoothing a wrinkle in his shirt before walking along behind the other two scientists towards the room. He shook his head, keeping his eyes downcast and refusing to respond to their attempts at conversation, and the bad jokes. Ugh. The young male slipped into the room, glancing around at the screens and wires. A grimace played on hislips and he grudgingly watched as they tested this poor girl.

I struggled a little as the others entered the room, I wasn't too sure of their intentions. The guy in the glasses approached them. 'Well, gentlemen. Take your time. She's sedated, don't worry. She won't hurt a fly.'

Kitty winced, sucking in a sharp breath and watching her struggle. How could they do this to her? He shook his head, taking a hesitant step forward and looking her over in complete silence.

I looked around at the people surrounding me, some of the new faces looking gleeful, others looking horrified. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes tight.

He bit his lip gently, near enough to draw blood as he watched this 'subject'. She seemed..annoyed? That seemed to fit it. With her eyes shut tight and the tensity about her alltogether. She wasn't happy...but who would be? Kitty decided to keep his comments to himself as he tore his eyes away, that would just earn a sharp disciplene from the scientists.

I peeked through my eyelashes, just enough to see the man in glasses stand behind the boy who was biting his lip.
'What's wrong son, don't like what you see?' He asked, a touch of humor in his voice.

Kitty nearly jumped at the voice "No sir...I mean yes sir! I mean...uhhh...no?" he asked hesitantly, glancing between the gir on the table, wings spread out, and the mean who he was now slightly facing.

The man peered down at him, shoving his hands casually in his pressed trouser pockets. 'Tell me. Why?' He asked, all humor gone.

He shrugged "Umm...well..it just...doesn't seem right to strap this woman to a table and test on her against her will.." he mumbled, keeping his gae downand expecting the worst.

An eyebrow raised underneath his glasses. 'You don't? Well, explain to me how we're suppost to obtain any knowledge of her if she won't cooperate.'

Kitty shrugged "I dunno. You could probably ask her maybe? She might actually speak if you weren't such jerks." he stated, a frown turning down his lips.

I couldn't help smiling a little when he spoke.

'Don't you think we HAVE tried to talk to her? That was the basic test. She refused to tell us anything. It's either this, or retiring her. Now, what do you think we'd do to a highly intelligent Extraterrestrial, something that is rarley seen, never mind obtained? If you have any questions, ask her yourself, but don't say I didn't warn you.' His face looked like thunder. He stormed out of the room, which had fallen completley silent, the only noise was the steady beeping of the heart rate monitors.

He rolled his eyes, shaking his head and edging closer to the table. He wouldn't dare touch her, but he looked her over once more "Hmmm.." he mumbled "Can you talk? Just nod..or...shake your head..." he asked quietly, looking down at her with a slight smile.

she fully opened her eyes and looked at him. Eventually, she nodded slowly.
