I was running from the prison that I had called my home for the last 40 years. My hospital gown billowed all around me as I ran, stopping only when I was a good mile away. The secret lab was away from anything else, so I didn't need to worry about anyone seeing me. I only realized that my arm had gone numb until I noticed there was an inch long needle burrowed in my arm. I pulled it out and threw it on the ground, rubbing the sore spot. I shivered as the cold wind hit my legs, and I flexed my wings a little, folding them us a tight as I could to cover the holes in the back of the gown

Walking down the sidewalk i had my iPod in and just scanned through my songs as i walked. Not really paying much attention to anything

I sighed, leaning against the trunk of a tree. I looked over my shoulder, making sure they hadn't caught up with me, although my instincts told me that if I stayed here any longer than they probably would. First...I needed some defecent clothes. I turned to go around the tree into the forest...and nearly walked right into the middle of the road. Just how far HAD I run? I backed into the woods, realising the change from country to city was as instant as..well..instant things.

I spotted someone in a hospital gown as i walked by and looked up at her. My eyes following her as i walked by. Why she was wearing one i didnt know. But curiosity controlled my feet and i walked over. "Umm are you alright?" I asked

I nodded, tucking my wings in tightly behind my back. 'Y-yeah...fine.'

"Well you wont be when it drops to like sixty tonight. Come on, I'll take you to get some clothes" I offered

'I-I can't.' I said quickly, backing a few paces. 'I just can't.'

"Easy alright you dont have to." I said calming her down. "I just thought you would be more comfortable with your back side not hanging out the back."

I nodded. 'Although it would be a bit warmer..' I wondered aloud.

"See? Come on." I said again. "I dont bite i promise" I mused

I shook my head. 'I'm sorry...I can't. Although I would like to..'

"And why not?" I asked.

I took a deep breath. 'Cause you'd never believe me even if I told you.'
