((Cooooolness! Very Happy Just going to need your help choosing a character... Kougu is extremely interesting with a thick plot that comes with him and a well developed history. He's rather antisocial, has a lot of issues, can be slightly depressed at times, yet is rather sweet in his own strange way. Age 18.
He can also be a tad amusing from time to time, since he's almost as much of an oddity as yours truly. Razz Hehe!

Laiko is less developed, his history needs a lot of work, but I have some ideas for him... He's very sociable and friendly, always cheerful, kind, accepting and generally easy to get along with. Age 17. That's all I know for now. Razz I haven't done much with him...

Which one do you think would work best with your character? Wink ))

((Hmmm... Laiko might be a bit too friendly... Kougu tends to be so completely weird that most antisocial characters actally end up tolerating him rather well, probably because he doesn't really seem particulrly 'human'... Plus, anything with Kougu in it wil definitely include violence, and Polo likes her violence! *evil cakcle* Razz I shall scamper off and fetch my "description". Wink ))

*copy-pastes*

((Yeah, the description sucks but it is not at all important. Just for the sake of having one... ))

Name: Kougu
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance: Kougu is tall, standing around 6ft, yet he is by no means muscular and powerful. His limbs are abnormally long, and he is thin. Not slender or healthily fit, but downright skinny and gawky. His fingers are extremely long, even for his tall frame. He has a very pale complexion. That, combined with his skinny build and the permanent signs of insomnia marking his face, give him the appearance of being permanently unwell. He has long, black hair that often falls down over his eyes, and constantly covers the long, ugly scar on his left temple. His eyes are a dark, midnight blue that seem to hold a distant, haunted expression, though it is well hidden behind his layers of disguise. His expression is always kind and gentle, with very few situations causing an exception.

((Will you be able to start, or must I? I'm never much good at setting an interesting scene... But maybe I can... Whatever you like. Razz ))

Post  Polo trapped in an inkpot Thu Jul 29, 2010 1:55 pm

A small boy lay curled in the fetal position on a seamless white floor. The bright whiteness seemed to stretch on into oblivion, while the child shook with silent sobs. His dark hair hid his face in messy black bangs, and his tiny, long-fingered hands were clutched around his gawky knees, drawing them up into his chest and cradling himself while the endless sobs wracked his body. The scene faded to bright white, blocking the child from view, the gradually darkened until a room could be seen. A room with a thick white carpet and white walls. A child stood in the center. The same child from before... With his pale complexion and dark hair, he seemed almost vampiric, standing alone in the empty room. Then the scene became more clear, and suddenly, there was blood everywhere. It soaked into the fluffy carpet under the boy's feet, gradually saturated his clothes, and spattered up the tall white walls. Something fell from one of his hands as he raised them, palms up, and dropped his dark blue eyes to examine them. He stared unseeingly at him, his shock so sever that he could barely think. His pale palms were encrusted in crimson gloves, the blood staining his soft skin like liquid silk. Presently, he began to tremble, and before long his legs had buckled to end him crashing to the ground, landing on his knees beside the gun that now lay on the floor behind him, a dark spot of cold, hard metal amongst the sea of red and white that composed the room.

Kougu suddenly came to with a groan, rubbing the back of his head tenderly. He winced as his fingers passed over the big, bloody lump hidden by his dark, messy hair. He rubbed it again, frowning in confusion, then took a moment to glance around at his surroundings. What he saw surprised him greatly. He was sitting in a dark, deserted alleyway. The paving stones beneath him felt hard and cold, spreading discomfort into his aching limbs. The sky was sinking lower in the sky, implying that the day had nearly come to a close, and a throbbing pain in his head that had nothing to do with his injury hinted to him that he had missed his last dose of medication. That though worried him. Kougu quickly scrambled to his feet, fighting off the waves of dizziness, yet gagging slightly when giddy nausea swept over him. He clapped a hand over his mouth, and leaned against the wall behind him for support. He swayed precariously for a moment, then the sensation wore off and he dropped his hand with a sigh. As he did so, he caught a flash of crimson out of the corner of his eye. Sudden fear surged through him, and he tasted bile in the back of his throat as he quickly raised his hand again, gulping nervously as he stared down at his pale palms with an anxious expression. Sure enough, his hands were covered in blood, just as he had suspected... Kougu clutched his head in despair, soft moans escaping his lips as he ripped at his dark hair and began pacing up and down, distraught by what he knew had happened... Again. What was he doing here anyway? Why had he come here...? He didn't remember - that bump on his head was messing up. Kougu finally ceased his pacing, moaning softly under his breath as he glanced around in search of his unfortunate victim. Yet he was unable to see anybody... No corpse, no blood, no weapon... Kougu frowned in confusion, then glanced back to where he had awoken. Blood... It had dripped down the wall and formed a puddle on the ground. Kougu's breath caught in his throat, hardly daring to believe... Hardly daring to hope... And he slowly raised a hand to touch the back of his head. When he brought it in front of his vision again, his fingers were sticky with blood. He almost laughed in relief, his legs instantly buckling and dropping his 6ft frame to the ground. He heaved a massive sigh of relief, then patted his pocket, just to be certain. Yes, his wallet was gone. A simple mugging... He could not have hoped for anything more. Amazed at his luck, Kougu slowly dragged himself to his feet and began walking in the direction he thought his house was. That had been a close call... He had been so sure- Well, he had been lucky this time. He had been a fool to leave the house at all... He knew the dangers - knew them only too well. Kougu paused as he stepped out of the alleyway onto a quiet, dusty street. The world was swaying around him, and balance was difficult. Likely as not he had a concussion, but he dared not linger in such a place. He had to get home, not matter how much harm it did. At least then it would be safe... He gnawed anxiously on his lip, then stepped off again, willing his reluctant memory to find the way back to his house. It ought to be close by... He never ventured far from it... Yet even if he found it, would he recognise it? He seldom saw it from the outside, and he was not a particularly observant person, even at the best of times...

[[ Dude...you just owned me D: ]]

Her eyes darted around, glowing with the wild light from the setting sun and the ferocity she was now feeling, her lips twisting up to form a slightly sadistic smile. Life was hard lately, and this was one way she could let it out; picking fights with the guys who hung out in the alleys smoking. Scout arched one finely shaped brow, looking over the lanky male before her, his light hair forming in a disarry around his handsome face and blue eyes. She thought for a moment before feinting to the side, causing him to stumble forward and hit the wall, practically leaping on his back and wrapping her arms around his thin neck, legs around his waist "You wanna say that again pretty boy?" she hissed. The male made a slightly choked noise, cursing her out and shaking her off so she landed on her butt on the cement, a grunt leaving her slightly reddened lips, having sustained a minor injury from some smart-ass girl earlier on that day. She heaved a breath, jumping to her feet and swinging a punch at his jaw, clipping it and making her fist numb; causing him to yelp out and shove her back so she hit the wall, delivering a hesitant blow that managed to make her nose bleed, her knee coming up to catch him in the groin; making the guys gathered around 'oooh..' in sympathy for the fair-haired male. A smug look crossed her face and she wiped the blood off her fae, smearing it in the process and winking at the group before strutting out into the street, knowing right away she had won. Scout yawned hugely, clearing her throat and glancing at a gangly-looknig male across the street, lifting a brow before simply walking in, wiping the blood off on her white shirt.

Kougu walked onwards along the road, seeming slightly dazed. Presently, he dragged his feet over a sightly raised paving stone and ended up tripping. He stumbled over his oversize feet, then fell to the ground - landing plonked neatly on his rear-end. He folded his long, gangly legs into a cross-legged position, and patiently waited for hi dizziness to subside. He was not going to get far like this anyway. Kougu let his dark blue eyes creep up to the sky, and they innocently traced the patterns of the fluffy, cotton-wool clouds as they gambolled across the sky. Kougu watched them placidly for a moment - completely lost in thought - then came back to reality with a jerk as the subtle sound of footsteps broke through his thoughts. His eyes darted to the opposite side of the street where a girl a little older than himself was walking along, her face coated in... Was that blood?! Kougu gasped in surprise and quickly scrambled to his feet, forgetting about his own injury in his haste. He swayed and staggered drunkenly as he found his feet, but soon managed to regain his balance and glanced at the girl again. He was torn between concern for her, and a strong desire to keep himself as far away from any form of socialising as possible. Finally, he decided on the best, most logical compromise that his concussed mind could muster. "Are you okay?" He asked, half hoping that his voice would be too quiet to hear from the other side of the street. He hated to see anybody hurt... He wanted to know if she was okay... She seemed okay, of course... But still. Then again, he was rather bloodied up himself, and he was certainly not eager to attract any attention. He actually just wanted to get back home, where it was safe, and get back on track with his medication before he lost it completely... Perhaps that one quiet question had been a mistake after all... Or perhaps not. Had she heard? If she had, it was too late to take it back and he'd just have to hope he'd made the right choice. If not... Well, he'd just let it go and get himself back home, he supposed.

She kept her head down, letting her hair fall into her eyes and pressing her lips together, tasting the blood yet ignoring its saltine flavouring. Yet the soft and faint sound of a voice reached her ears, making her jump and snap her head up, an accusing look in her dark eyes as she cleared her throat, searching for her voice before snapping "Whats it to you?". This odd male sort of intrigued her, the way he seemed to be so fragile? Most men she knew were far from that, more masculine and...if they wanted something they spoke with a more...urgent tone. This male seemed more...afraid? What was with that?

What's it to you? The worlds echoed through Kougu's mind, and he found himself hiding a wince as he realized that she had heard him - though he was still not entirely sure if that was a good thing or a bad one... He began pondering over her words then, sorting through them in his mind. What was it to him? Well... What was what to him? What had he asked again? 'Are you okay?' Ah, yes, that was it... So that meant that she was asking what her being okay was to him. What was it? This was a rather difficult question, even for his mind. Though now that he had deciphered the question's literal word-for-word meaning, he ought to be able to answer it. What was it to him...? "Well... A brief description of your physical well-being, I suppose." Kougu replied quietly, pausing in his rather unbalanced walking to watch her from across the road - a rare curiosity in his deep dark blue eyes. He had obviously misunderstood her question and attempted to answer it for its more complex literal meaning - actually ending up describing what his own first question meant - yet obviously unaware of his fault. He regarded her cautiously, glad of the distance between them - yet feeling strangely interested by this girl who, despite her somewhat snappish tone, had chosen to acknowledge his polite question. Most people would just ignore him, though in their defense, that was not a fair comparison to make - since he seldom chose to interact with people anyway. He continued to watch the girl - his arcanely-shaded blue eyes peering out from beneath an unbelievably messy mop of thick, shiny black hair.

Scout smirked, shaking her head "I wasn't talking literally. I meant it as in...why does it matter to you?" she asked, stopping to look at him seriously, amusement now in her eyes. So he was a smarty pants? Oh..great. Well if this is how it went she could leave and let this odd creature be. Yet her mind told her not to. Why was this particular male so much different then the rest she had encountered previously? He wasn't rude or muscled, just...thin and quiet. How odd.

"Oh, I see..." Kougu replied apologetically. He paused a moment then, folding his hands into a steeple and tapping his fingers together as he often did when thinking things over. "Well..." He began hesitantly, "Forgive me for answering a question with a question, but why should it not?" He watched her then, his predicament completely forgotten by now. He hadn't had a conversation this long in years. Years! And for good reason... Though with the large distance between them, Kougu found he was able to relax a little more and keep a tighter grip on his thoughts. It made things easier, knowing that she was not within his reach, and thus he found he was actually able to tolerate the exchange of words. After these few short moments of thought, Kougu decided to add to what he had said previously. "I was merely concerned that you might be hurt, since you are covered in blood." He pointed out rather unhelpfully. Kougu wondered for a moment if he should offer to help, but he immediately decided against it. That could end up being one of the most foolish decisions he had ever made. No, he would speak as long as the distance between them remained this large, but no more. A sudden wave of dizziness crashed over him, and Kougu rested one pale hand lightly against the wall beside him to steady himself, though his eyes remained locked on the girl in an intent, interested gaze.

A grimace turned her face as she wiped her nose again, finding more slowly dribbling blood and cursing, wiping it on her shirt again "Yeah well you aren't exactly the picture of perfection yourself buddy." she stated, playing with her hands slowly to keep them occupied. She wouldn't exactly want to bring up a fight with this kid because he probably didn't know how to fight back, from the way he appeared. So she just stood there, leaning on a lamp post and trying not to fall over as her vision started blurring a bit, making it impossible to see the figure now.

Kougu frowned at her words, then touched a hand to the back of his head and examined the sticky blood coating his fingers with slight surprise. He had almost forgotten that he was actually bleeding... How on earth had he managed that? Shrugging off his thoughts, Kougu dropped his hands to his sides again and stared over at the girl who was now leaning back in a similar manner to himself. Apparently she had taken a nasty knock to the head as well... He thought back to her words then, and after a moment of thinking, managed to conjure up a reply. "That's not the point." Kougu informed her, brushing aside her comment. It seemed the topic of his little mishap was less than important to him, and he didn't see the point in dwelling on it. "So, are you okay?" Kougu asked again, a slightly firmer note to his gentle voice this time. He wanted an honest answer, for he could not stand to see anybody hurt, and if tis girl was truly in danger he would want to do something... Not that he could do much. He had decent medical skills, thanks to that man's endless years of training him, but that would hardly be helpful if he wasn't willing to go near the girl. He could phone an ambulance for her - but he would probably be required to go into the hospital to pay the bill, and he didn't like that idea either... Well, she would just hav to be okay then. She didn't have any other option, since he didn't know what to do if she wasn't okay, and that just would not do.

Scout shook her head, looking down and watching the moving shapes that were her feet..well...multiple copies of her feet. So this is what it felt like to go blind? Wooh..what fun. She coughed, a little blood seeping from her lips into her hand, a blank look on her face before another bout of coughing came, more blood trickling from her mouth before she shook her head, straightening up "I'm f-fine." she mumbled, wiping her mouth and shaking her head before her vision blacked out and she passed out.

((UGH!!!! This awful laptop spazzed on me when I was ALMOST done and I lost about 500 words of typing. -_- The horror! I’d remembered to copy my first paragraph, but if the rest of it sucks after that, you know why. Razz This is my greatest peeve! *twitches* Wink ))

Kougu watched the girl as she coughed violently and swayed where she stood, and he soon felt his brow furrowing into a deeply concerned frown. She really had got injured quite bady, then...? Gnawing his lip in indecision, Kougu fidgeted pointlessly where he stood - waiting for the girl's response. Then it came: I'm fine. Kougu breathed a huge sigh of relief. "Oh, good." He replied gratefully - disregarding the girl completely as he turned to walk away - obviously relieved that she did not need his help. But before he had taken more than 2 steps, Kougu heard a dull thump behind him. He wheeled around to see that the girl had collapsed on the sidewalk, and he gasped in a combination of shock and sympathy. Without pausing to think, which was alarmingly rare for him, Kougu dashed over to her. He stumbled as he reached her, and had to grab a lamp post to steady himself as a wave of dizziness engulfed him and his vision faded for a moment. Stupid thing to do, really... Running like that after having hit his head goodness-knows-how-hard.
Kougu stood thus for a moment, staring blindly at her, and then panic struck. He scrambled backward away from her motionless form until he was flattened against a wall – seemingly trying to press himself into it. His heart battered violently against his ribcage, and Kougu felt certain that it could be seen through his thin shirt. He trembled slightly as he stood there, apparently waiting for some disaster to occur, but when no such thing happened, Kougu gradually began to relax. His tongue darting nervously over his lips, Kougu crept timidly away from the wall and toward the girl. When he reached her, he dropped into a crouch beside her and tentatively reached a long-fingered hand toward her neck. As his cold fingers met her warm skin, Kougu flinched as though burned, though he maintained the contact until he felt the comforting throb of blood pulsing by in veins concealed by the soft skin beneath his fingers. Content that she was in fact alive, Kougu gently pulled back one of her eyelids. From his findings, he proved what he had already assumed: She was unconscious. With that conclusion, Kougu scrambled a short distance away from her to think. He couldn’t just leave her there… But she certainly couldn’t go with him either! Once again there was so solution… Kougu fidgeted nervously as he attempted to find a way around what he knew he had to do, but as he had expected, there was none. Sighing heavily, Kougu approached the girl again and gently seized her arm. He pulled it across his own frail shoulders, then straightened with surprising ease. He cringed away from the contact, but the fact that the girl was unconscious did make it barely tolerable. Drawing in a deep breath to calm himself, Kougu began walking toward his house. His mind was yelling violently at him because of the terrible decision he had made, but Kougu did his best to block out the voices. Unsafe, unsafe, unsafe! Of course he already knew that… This was far too dangerous… But what choice did he have? Shaking his head against the torturing thoughts, Kougu began dragging the girl back to his house.

Finally, he reached it, and found himself in yet another strange predicament. He had misplaced his key… Again. Shrugging off this fact, Kougu retrieved a hairpin from his pocket, and expertly picked the lock in less than a minute. It popped open with a satisfyingly loud click, and Kougu kicked the door open before dragging the girl inside. He paused upon entering the house, feeling a shudder of trepidation run through him at the sight of the sickeningly familiar interior.
From where he stood in the doorway, a long corridor stretched up to the opposite end of the house. At the end of this corridor was an ornate wooden staircase, whose grand old steps lead up to the ceiling – only to be met by a boarded up entrance that blocked any access to the entire second storey above it. Directly to the right of the staircase was a large, yet simple bedroom – Kougu’s own room, which he seldom really used. To the left was the bathroom, and beside that a short passageway to the kitchen – which was open-plan to a lounge-dining room area. Everything was grand, stylish and perfectly neat. From the antique rugs to the ornate bookshelf on Kougu’s left – the house had been lavishly decorated. Then there was the other room… From where Kougu stood in the doorway, there was a room directly to his right, separated from his bedroom by what seemed to be a study. This room was the most puzzling of all, for its bright white door was held shut with all manner of locks, chains and various other sorts of security devices. Obviously, the room was not meant to be entered. Kougu stared at this door with a distant, haunted expression for a moment, then shook it off and dragged the girl into the lounge. He dumped her on the couch, then vanished into the bathroom to search for medical supplies.

Although she remained unawake throughout his small battle with himself and the process of being dragged to his house she could sort of see what was playing before her. Or...more sort of lighter shaded shapes moving around in her black vision. A low, hoarse groan left her blood reddened lips and she put a hand over her face, sighing heavily and squinting before opening her eyes fully, looking around at the unknown surroundings. A sudden expression of unease came over her followed by a wave of nausea before she sat up quickly, one hand flying to her mouth and a muffled "Um..hello?" leaving her lips before she couldn't help but puke on the floor, her eyes widening. Oh crap...Who's house was this anyway? Well she couldn't just leave it like this; couch with her blood on it and puke all over the floor. Another soft sound left her lips and she got to her feet, staggerd, and then fell back onto the couch agian with a quiet grunt.

((Pft! Nah, you just inspired me too much, silly Vera-sensei. Razz *glomps* Besides - quality over quantity. Smile ))

Kougu began scracthing through the cupboard above his basin for anything he had that could possibly help the girl. He suspected some sort of head trauma - probably a moderately serious decceleration-induced concussion. He was just searching through his supplies and trying to decide what to use - when a noise from the other room caught his attention. Damn!!! She was awake! Panic knifed through Kougu, and a commotion occured as he accidentally dropped what he was holding into the basin with a resounding clatter. Muttering nervously to himself, Kougu quickly gathered it up, then tiptoed warily to the door. His dark blue eyes peered nervously at the girl from between the untidy strands of his inky-black fringe, and his long arms clutched the first-aid-kit in his hands tightly against his chest - as though having it there would help to sheild him from her. "You shouldn't be awake." He scolded reproachfully when he finally found his voice. "Now you'll have to sort yourself out. - Here." And with that, he tossed the first-aid kit toward her, then folded his arms stubbornly and slid down the wall behind him to sit cross-legged on the floor - seeming more like an overgrown infant than a boy on the brink of manhood. "I can talk you through what to do..." Kougu offered hesitantly, "But if you insist upon being awake, then I'm afraid I cannot do it myself." He concluded firmly, raising his shoulders in a slight shrug. he watched her with a somewhat accusatory gaze - as though he believed it was all her fault that she had woken up and ruined his plans. The situation was already dangeorus enough without her being awake as well...

Moments later when he appeared and tossed the first aid thing to her she squeaked, scrambling back so she was curled into a ball against the back of the couch. She whimpered, shaking her head and not looking at him "I wouldn't want you to touch me anyway." she hissed, closing her eyes and resting her head on her knees, not looking at him but blankly staring at the wall. What was she doing at this random boy's house? She didn't even know him, nor had she ever seen him in her life.

"Good, then the feeling is mutual." Kougu replied simply - his tone seeming mildly friendly, yet his expression not quite seeming to suit it with the absence of a smile on his face. In fact, his expression seldom changed, for he had been taught well not to show any emotions - no matter what the cost. Of course, he had never quite perfected this skill, but he had got somewhere, at least... But that was not the point - what was he supposed to be thinking about again? Kougu observed the girl's actions for a moment, and her sense of helplessness sent a pang of sympathy through his mind, so he decided to be merciful. "Look, I'm pretty sure neither of us really want you to be here, right?" He pointed out - obviously trying to be kind, yet somehow getting a bit too tangled up with honesty in a way that made it seem he was attempting to make her feel unwelcome. "I advise you to search through the kit," Kougu went on - pronouncing his words extremely clearly, as only one untainted by society ever could. "There ought to be some chocolate in a silver wrapper. Eat it - it helps with the shock." Kougu blinked placidly at her - seemingly quite content to sit and watch from his safe distance - what with being nearly on the opposite end of the house to her. A twinge pained Kougu's head then, and he masked a wince before getting quickly to his feet. "I'll leave you to it, then. Call me if you need me." He mumbled, and then he crept away back into the bathroom.
He tugged open the cupboard and took out a familiar tub of little white pills. Kougu shook a couple onto his hand, then tossed them into his mouth and dry-swallowed them. He had no reason to linger in the bathroom after that, but he did anyway. He didn't want to go out there again... She wasn't supposed to wake up. That hadn't been part of his plan... Now how was he supposed to deal with it.
