Is Tom Cruise hot?
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani groaned. "All that good meat for nothing." She yelped and clutched at her leg as a needle of pain stabbed through it. "Oww." She moaned, curling up into a ball.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Damien sat beside her all the time. "Is she going to be okay?" He asked the medic, his voice thick with worry. The medic nodded.
"In a few hours the pain will have gone away. You did good to get her back this fast, Damien. Any longer and the contaminated blood would have gone to her heart."
Damien nodded and looked around. "I'm going to get something for you to eat, I'll be back soon."

Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani nodded slowly as she held her burning leg. Squeezing her eyes shut, she told herself that it was the medicine, and that it was only kicking in. It would be gone in a few hours. But the pain was so blinding, so intense...
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Damien stood up and walked out of the tent, looking back for a moment at Avani. He hoped she would be okay... He went out to the the fire that was burning brightly, before looking in the large black pot that was suspended above it. He spooned some of the delicious smelling liquid into a wooden bowl, before grabbing a wooden spoon and taking it carefully back to the medic's tent. He sat beside Avani again and laid down the food. "Eat, it'll help you feel better."
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani gritted her teeth and forced herself to sit up. She didn't want to be nursed like a sick infant - the three minutes of it had been more agonizing to her than the pain. She yanked the bowl away and began to slurp it up with a spoon, ignoring her manners.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani rolled her eyes at his grin, but finished the soup quickly. "Who did you steal this from?" She asked. "It's too good to be your cooking."
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Damien snorted. "I don't cook Avani, you know that. But every time I do I always have the intention of trying to poison someone or other." He chuckled. "No, it was out there in the pot. Too good to leave."
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani rolled her eyes. "You're so sweet. We do need to leave something for them, though." She bit her lip as she pondered this, wondering what they would give back. They would want food, and she had some dried fruit ither tent...
She wasn't charitable, but she was fair.

Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Damien smiled. "Relax, it was nearly empty, they'd already eaten anyway."
He sighed and leaned back against a chest of drawers that was beside Avani's bed. The smile on his face slowly faded. "I can't help thinking that there are more of them out there Avani."

Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani snorted. "More nearly empty kettles? Or aliens?" Because we know for sure there are a ton more of the latter." She rolled her eyes and swallowed a gulp of water from her leather flask. She offered it to Damien.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
"The second one." He refused the water with a wave of his hand. "No thanks. I just have this really nasty feeling that's all." He scratched his head in annoyance. "I dunno, maybe I'm just on edge because of what happened."
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani laughed. "Get it together, Damien. You might show them you actually have feelings." She winked and swung her legs over the side of the bed, testing herself by putting weight on each leg. She winced when she stod on the injured leg, but found she could walk if she limped slowly.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Damien snorted a laugh and stood beside her, ready to catch her should she lose her balance. "You sure you want to stand up? It still looks pretty nasty."
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani flashed him a non-amused glare. "Of course I can stand on it, Mother." She rolled her eyes and continued walking, keeping the wobbling to a minimum. She made it to the door and gripped the frame tightly in order to keep herself standing.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Damien smiled. Well at least she had her flair back. He walked over to the door and leaned on it. "You sure?" He grinned, teasing her.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
"Yes I'm sure. Oh..." Avani's eyes widened in the imitation of a weak girl about to faint and fell over. She was couting on Damien to catch her before she hit the ground, and was pretty sure he would.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Damien sprung forwards to catch her, her body falling into his arms. "Suddenly I'm very useful, aren't I?" He muttered into her ear, smiling.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
Avani laughed - an action strange for a girl who just fainted - and looked up at him, flirtatiously batting her eyelashes. "Very." Then she laughed harder - snorting in the process - and pulled away, standing firmly on her feet. "Aren't I just the actress?" She murmured.
Re: Rorah and I-aye-aye!
He helped her back onto her feet, eying her cautiously. "Well you seemed to have recovered rather remarkably, although I still don't believe that you're alright." He gave her a brief grin, before turning on his heel and slowly walking out.
