"I'm not fussing amico (Friend), I'm just helping you" Ezio spoke with a smirk. when Orion pulled his foot off, Ezio frowned "Seriously Orion. I'm trying to f*cking help you. why is it so hard to just lay back for a few moemnts untill i can get someone to come get you?" Ezio spoke "you're being really nasty..." Ezio spoke with a sigh, looking away. He was probably a bit more hurt because he liked Prion more then he should. much more then he should. he wished that he could kiss him again. Ezio looked bakc to his phone and managed to get through to Roo, who was going to drive up in the four wheeler as soon as he was awake enough to get dressed and come outside.

Orion sighed irritably at Ezio's comment, frustrated by having to hear the truth. He knew that he was being a dick to Ezio, but he couldn't help it... Anything was better than the alternative...
Still, Ezio was his friend, and he was just trying to help. Groaning under his breath in frustration, Orion cast him an apologetic glance, and mumbled, "Sorry. I didn't mean it... Just leave me alone, okay?"
Some improvement, asshole. He congratulated himself sarcastically.
Rolling his eyes at the voice in his head, Orion sighed heavily and leaned back against a tree. Apparently Roo would be coming to fetch them; that was good. He didn't want to be alone with Ezio a second longer; at least not until he had got his bearings.
Because between the moonlight on Ezio's bare chest and the hurt in his eyes, Orion was seriously beginning to struggle to keep himself in check.
I can't develop feelings for this guy... I just f*cking can't!

When Orion spoke, Ezio just turned his head and sent him a glare. He waited a few moments, thinking. he wanted to leave him alone? fine.
Ezio pushed Orions sore foot off of his knee and onto the ricky ground and then stood up, pulling his jacket back over his cold body. He then shoved his hands into his pockets and began walking back down the hill. he knew it would be cruel to leave Roo alone with Orion, but it really hurt what Orion had said. What a good 'friend'.
Ezio got back to the stables just as Roo was leaving with Federico sitting behind Roo on the ofur wheeler. Roo would sit in the trailer on the way back. Ezio went back to his room and got into bed, turning on the tv as Roo and Rico wnt to 'recscue' Orion.

When Ezio walked off, Orion felt a pang of guilt, and silently berated himself for treating his only friend so badly. That was not like him. He was aloof, abrasive and antisocial, sure, but he was never mean. He sighed to himself, feeling more miserable by the second as he thought over his behaviour. Then again, maybe it was for the best? He couldn't get too close to Ezio, so why not push him away?
Damn you for being gay... He thought miserably, And damn me, too.

A short while later, Federico and Roo arrived to pick him up, and after thanking them politely and apologizing for the inconvenience, Orion found himself sitting awkwardly on the back of a quadbike yet again.
By the time they got back, he was sick with pain and guilt.
He thanked Rico and Roo again when they got back, and then hobbled up to his room, but he paused at the door. Ezio had been trying to help him. He ought to apologise... It would be wrong not to.
Sighing heavily, he knocked on the other boy's door.
"Ezio?" He called softly, only half-listening for a response, "I'm sorry I was such a dick..."
He paused a moment, then shrugged and went back to his own room, keen to rest his ankle at last.
Sprains are a real pain in the ass, damn it...

Ezio stayed in bed, frowning heavily when he heard Orion speak, nd he just threw the covers off of his bed and walked across the hall, opening the door. "I'll have my shirt back" Was all he said to him "You can probably fix you ankle yourself, because you're big dnd though and no one's allowed to help you or even freaking talk to you, Right?" Ezio said, looking away angrily. "Am I that annoying? or are you that disgusted with me because i'm your faggot 'friend' who kissed you the other night." Ezio said, this time looking right at him. "Give me my shirt back" Ezio said formly and held his hand out for it.

Orion was just sitting down on his bed when Ezio stormed in and demanded coldly, "I'll have my shirt back." Somewhat taken aback, Orion shrugged, and began unwrapping the shirt from his ankle as Ezio added, "You can probably fix your ankle yourself, because you're big and tough and no one's allowed to help you or even freaking talk to you, Right?"
Orion shot him a frown, but just shrugged and carried on battling with the shirt wrapped around his ankle.
"Am I that annoying?" Ezio demanded, clearly not done raging at him yet, "Or are you that disgusted with me because I'm your faggot 'friend' who kissed you the other night."
At this point, Orion's patience began wearing thin, and he began warningly, "Ezio..."
"Give me my shirt back." He demanded, holding out his hand.
Orion resisted the urge to roll his eyes withe difficulty, and yanked the shirt free from his ankle - hurting it in the process - and slammed it into Ezio's hand.
"There." He responded simply, "Have your shirt."
It took a moment for him to dredge up the will to say more when Ezio's attitude was seriously rubbing him up the wrong way, but with a deep breath, he managed it.
"Look man," Orion said seriously, "I don't have a problem with you being gay, alright? You f*cking know that. And I'm sorry if I pissed you off before - I'm just not great with accepting help. Now are we gonna let this go, or keep bitching about it like little girls?"

"you're sorry that you pissed me off? how about, 'sorry for treating you like shit'" Ezio spoke as he snatched up his shirt. "Looks like we'll both be on bed rest of the nest few days" he growled and turned around, walking out the door. "You're such a dick Orion" Ezio growled as he walked through to his room and closed the door, then walking back to his bed and crawling in. Ezio didn't diserve this. Orion was making him look like the 'bad guy' by telling him that he sohuldnt of helped him.

Orion groaned and rolled his eyes when Ezio stormed out again. He wasn't too happy about being shouted at and insulted, especially since he didn't see that he'd done anything wrong enough to deserve this treatment. He'd been a little abrasive, sure, but he always was...
Still, it was a good thing. Although it hurt, with the bridge between Ezio and himself burnt as it was, at least he didn't have to worry about unwelcome feelings haunting him any more.
But despite that, he couldn't help but nurse a secret wish... If only Ezio understood... But he could never admit to that.

((Skipping on ahead. ))

For the next few days, Orion couldn't ride because of his ankle, which gave him a very good opportunity to avoid Ezio. He retreated back into his shell, reverting back to his usual wardrobe and his usual attitude.
It was about four days later when Orion finally found that he could put weight on his ankle again, and he found himself staying up late that night planning how he would catch up on the days missed with 'his' horses.
Since he was awake anyway, Orion couldn't help but notice some strange noises coming from outside at around 2AM...
He glanced out of the window, and frowned out into the night. Nothing seemed out of place, but he could have sworn he'd heard the sound of an engine...
Slipping on his hoodie, Orion got out of bed and went outside to check on things.
When he got to the stable and heard the unsettled sounds of horses snorting and pawing inside, he knew that something was wrong.
Freezing just outside the stables, he strained his ears, and heard the sound of hurried footsteps from within.
Feeling his heart leap into his throat, he swallowed, and composed a hurried text to Ezio.

In too much of a rush to worry about whether or not it made sense, Orion quickly hit send, then crept closer to the door to peer around the edge.
Inside the stables, two balaclava-clad figures were pulling and herding a few anxious horses toward the stable doors, and as Orion cast a glance around to the other side of the stables, he could see their truck waiting there.
Oh no you don't!

With a sudden flash of fury, he straightened up, and stepped straight into the stables, blocking the doorway. His arms folded over his chest, and he asked in a dangerously cold voice, "What do you think you're doing?"
The two figures froze, and as they exchanged silent glances, Orion saw one reach toward his pocket.
Oh no you f*cking don't!
Reckless as ever, he dashed forward and tackled the first man to the floor, aiming a powerful punch at his face. It struck home with a meaty thud, but the moment Orion wheeled around to face his second attacker, he saw a flash of steel before his eyes as a large dagger was pulled out.
Quick as a fox, he grabbed the forearm of its wielder, and the two wrestled for it in tense silence as the frightened horses clamored around, then bolted nervously for the exit to the stables.
"Let go!" The masked man hissed, but Orion just snarled in response, and spat, "Get the f*ck out of here!" He gave the man a powerful shove, but as he stumbled backwards Orion saw the knife flash, and before he could dodge, it had lodged itself between his ribs.
He gasped in pain, stumbling backwards, and collapsed against Carlo's stable door, clutching at the top of it with shaking fingers as he stared in open-mouthed shock at the handle of the knife protruding from his side.
He heard the sound of panicked shouts and slamming doors as the rest of the thieves began taking off in their truck, leaving behind the poor sod that Orion had knocked out.
Soon enough, pain drowned out the sounds, and Orion found himself gasping and shaking from the shock, staring with wide, unseeing eyes and clutching around the handle of the knife as his hoodie quickly grew damp with blood, and a gruesome crimson puddle began forming at his feet.
"What the hell...?" He mumbled to himself, knees giving way to send him sliding into a sitting position on the floor.
"What just happened...?"

Ezio was now fast asleep in his huge bedroom, bht awoke when his phone buzzed on the nightstand. He frowned when he opened the glary iphone, squiting when the hard light filled his eyes. He saw a text from Orion, and really he was hoping that he was asking him to come and tall about why they werent talking, but no. He frowned when he read the text and got out of bed, walking to the window. He watched flr a few mlmenfs, seeing orion and a few guys standing around, but then one kf them shoved what looked like a knife into orions ribs. When he saw orion fall bacj, he springed out of his door and opened federicos bedroom door, finding him with soms girl (as usual).
"what?"
"Come, quick!" ezio sloke befkre he ran outside. He rushed to the stables with federico. Federico went and took care of the two thieves while Ezio just ran to Orion. "jesus... Whats going on?" ezio said and looked at the knkfe dug into orions ribs. Ezio quickly pulled it out and put his hand over the bloody wound. "you're going to be fine" ezio whispered as he took out his phons and dialled fkr an ambulance.

Orion had not been lying there for long before Ezio arrived on the scene. He was still in something of a shocked daze, but he grunted in pain when he felt the other man yank the knife from his side. "Jesus... Whats going on?" He muttered, but Orion just shook his head, too busy gritting his teeth against the pain to speak.
"You're going to be fine." Ezio whispered, but Orion didn't think he sounded all that convinced. Ezio began phoning for an ambulance, and Orion coughed, then groaned when the motion made his entire side ache.
"God..." He gasped at last, "This whole 'getting stabbed' thing isn't nearly as sexy as they make it look in the movies." He chuckled softly, then winced and grunted when another stab of pain jolted through him.
He looked up at Ezio, and wondered for a moment if he ought to say something to clear the air between them - but then he decided that such things could probably wait until he wasn't bleeding out in a stable.

Soon enough the ambulance arrived, and Orion's memory of the next few hours was hazy. He was vaguely aware of arriving at the hospital, then at some stage he might have fainted, because he woke up some time later in a hospital bed with two IV drips beside his bed; one for morphine, and another for a blood transfusion. The wound in his side had been stitched up and bandaged, and on the powerful painkillers, Orion had to admit that he felt a great deal better.
He rubbed his eyes when he woke, then blinked groggily around, and soon noticed Ezio sitting beside his bed.
He looked at him for a moment, then smiled and said simply, "Hey."

"when people get stabbed in movies it isnt really all that sexy eigher" ezio said to him, fromowning with worry.
He was with orion when he could be - in the ambulance, and when he was out kf the tiny surgery. When Orion woke, Ezio was almost asleep. It was now 6am. "hey" Ezio responded as he heard Orions voice "are you feeling okay?"

"Hey," Ezio replied, sounding half-asleep, [i]"Are you feeling okay?"
Orion just shrugged at this, and answered with weak humour, "I feel sexy as f*ck in this gay gown, I'll tell you that. Totally my style." He plucked at his hospital gown and pulled a face, then added more seriously, "Yeah, I'm fine. But listen mate, I owe you an apology." He met Ezio's gaze sincerely, and stated simply, "I've been a crappy friend. Seriously, if I was you, I would not be sitting here." He chuckled, "So thanks for that. And I'm sorry I've been ignoring you."
He raised himself into a sitting position, then offered a hand to Ezio, and asked with that sweetly awkward smile of his, "Friends?"

Ezio smirked and shook his head "sexy isnt the word i'd use..." he said and kept his gaze closely on him "and im slrry too. Orion just shrugged off Ezio's apology, keen to let the whole ordeal go at last without too much fuss. He was more than ready to switch back to shallow smalltalk, when suddenly Ezio decided to drop a question-bomb on him.
"Orion, if you hate people and hate socialising, how do you expect to find a girl to marry or have kids with? Your life will just pass by..." Upon hearing this, he stared at Ezio with a comically serious expression, blinking blankly at him. Then he looked away, clearing his throat awkwardly, and raised his chin in a dignified fashion - pretending that he could not feel the blush heating his cheeks. Usually he would just have refused to answer such a personal question, but he didn't much feel like pissing Ezio off again, so instead, he attempted to formulate an awkward response.
"I dunno..." He mumbled, "This whole 'family' vibe just isn't really my thing, I guess. Let's just say I prefer single life." He smiled awkwardly, and swept his fingers through his green-streaked fringe, still looking faintly uncomfortable.
"So," He cleared his throat, changing the subject, "Are the horses all okay?"

Ezio just raised his brows and frowned "right.." he murmured abd sighed. He then just nodded "yes, theyre all fine". "so what happened? They just stabbed you? The police are looking at it all and soon they will catch them. We have security camceras so we'll find them"

"Yes, they're all fine." Ezio answered, and Orion sighed in relief. "So what happened? They just stabbed you? The police are looking at it all and soon they will catch them. We have security camceras so we'll find them." Orion nodded, then paused to think for a moment before answering. "I guess it was my fault I got stabbed. I saw them trying to make off with the horses, and I-" He chuckled slightly, "Well, I got a little reckless. I tend to do that sometimes. Anyway, after I knocked out the one bloke, his buddy caught me unawares and stabbed me in the gut, and here we are." He shrugged, and offered a subtle smile as he added, "But at least the horses are okay. That's what counts."

"youre a dick Orion" ezio laughed "youre just a stupid dick" Ezio teased again andreached lver putting hks hand on hjs shoulder, and looked to the door when he saw it open. petruccio stood at the door, breathing heavily and eyes wide, holding a bunch of flowers from the garden. He'd had to brave the people-filled hospital halls and elevators just to get to orions room to give him some lf thw flkwers he grew; just his way of saying 'get well'. He looked terrified still, but it was wearing off as he handed the flowers to ezio whl handed them to orio n for him.
"i...h-hope... I h-hope you aren't in-n t-too much pain" Roo managed to stammer in hjs (suprisingly) deep and handsome voice, and then tried his best at a smile.

(my idea is... When orion and ezio get home, they find all of orions bags packed and waiting by the fountain, so ezio thinks that rico told giovanni about ezio being gay, and that he mjst of told him that they wrre tlgeather to make it more believable (ricos a lying dog x3) but then they get inside and find mr chang yelling at giova nni while he's asking him to leave orion alone and to let him stay etc.? K
)

"You're a dick Orion." Ezio laughed, "You're just a stupid dick." Orion sighed and chuckled in response, shaking his head in amusement. "Yeah." He agreed, "Guess so."
But then Ezio reached over to put a hand on his shoulder, and Orion froze up. He looked at his friend, blushing, and swallowed nervously as he felt his heartbeat quicken. Why does he have to do that? God... I can't take it...
Luckily, before Orion could snap at Ezio again, the door opened, and Roo appeared in the doorway with a bunch of flowers in his hand. Orion's expression instantly softened, and he felt an easy smile lift his lips. Any thoughts of Ezio's hand on his shoulder had vanished from his mind, and he found himself feeling honestly touched. He knew how difficult it was for Roo to be around people - hell, even he wasn't a fan of that - but still, here he was. Nobody had ever shown him such kindness before... In fact, for a brief moment, he actually feared he might cry.
I have a family. At last... I have a family.
Ezio handed him the flowers, and Orion accepted them gratefully, willing himself not to get all emotional over the gesture. He was a man, and he would act as such.
"I...h-hope... I h-hope you aren't in-n t-too much pain." Roo stammered, and Orion looked up to flash him a grin.
"Nah," He answered, "It'll take more than this to take me down." Then his grin softened to a warm smile, and he added earnestly, "Thanks, Roo. Really."

Roo just smiled hks sweet smile, which looked similar to Ezios and he then just slipped out of the room to brave thw hospital halls once more. "He's great" Ezio sakd to Orion with a smile "its such a shame that he's so...ill" Ezio murmured and sighed. "do you know how long you'll have to be in here for?" he added

Orion watched Roo go fondly, still rather chuffed by his sweet gesture, and then turned back to Ezio with a smile. "He's great." Ezio said, looking after Roo, "Its such a shame that he's so... ill." Orion just shrugged, and smiled in response. "I like him." He answered simply, "Ill or not."
There was a moment of silence, then Ezio turned to him and asked, "Do you know how long you'll have to be in here for?"
"I figure I should be able to leave now." Orion answered, "There's nothing wrong with me, after all. As long as I have some painkillers, I'm good."
When Orion repeated this logic to the Doctor, he seemed faintly displeased, but grudgingly allowed Orion to be discharged anyway, given that the young man did not seem pleased with the idea of spending any more time in the hospital.

Orion and Ezio headed back to the Auditore estate together, but when they arrived there, Orion saw something that made his heart leap into his throat. As he stepped out of the car, he saw his luggage arranged in a neat pile beside the fountain, obviously evicted from his room.
The moment he saw it, he froze, and time seemed to stand still as his entire world ground to a halt.
This can't be happening! He thought desperately, I need this job! I love this job...
His gaze was fixed blankly on the bags and things sitting innocently beside the fountain, and Orion's beautiful green eyes widened in horror.
I don't want to leave... These horses - even the people, too - they're like family... I'll have to go back to England! I'll have to face Mr. Chang, and he'll rub all this in my face, and I'll have to go to Med school, and-
As it all started to sink in, Orion felt his knees weaken from shock, and he absentmindedly gripped Ezio's shoulder to steady himself.
I'll never see Ezio again...
Horribly shaken by his thoughts, he turned to his friend with wide-eyed disbelief, and whispered, "W-what did I do wrong...?"
I tried so hard...

Ezio stepped out of his Audi R8 And puzhed his sunglasses over his eyes as he walked beside Orion towards the house. When he saw a neatly stacked pile of Orions black suitcases, he froze. orion leaned andsaid exactally what he was thinking. what did he do wrong? Ezio juzt qhickly rushed away from Orion and ran insife "Dad! It's not hjs fault! I was the one who..." he trailed off when he reChed his fathers office, seeing an angry asian man huffing in the corner.
"Sorry Mr. Chang, this is my son Ezio. He'd be happy to help with your little problem while i get back to work" Giovanni snarled and looked back to His laptop.
"uhm... What's the problem Sir?" Ezio murnured, actually relieved beyond belief.

When Ezio dashed away from him, Orion found himself just staring blindly after him. Then, still in complete shock, he just sat down on the edge of the fountain, holding his head in his hands.
How the hell could I have screwed up already...?

Meanwhile, inside the house, a very angry Mister Li Chang was arguing animatedly with Giovanni, who frankly didn't seem too interested by his raving.
"Sorry Mr. Chang," Giovanni snarled when Ezio arrived, "This is my son Ezio. He'd be happy to help with your little problem while I get back to work." With that he left, and the suit-clad Asian turned to Ezio, folding his arms and looking him judgmentally up and down.
"Uhm... What's the problem Sir?" Ezio asked politely, and Mr. Chang just huffed angrily in response. "There is no problem." He replied in his faintly accented voice, "I shall simply take my son and go, if it's all the same to you." He smoothed down his perfectly gelled hair, and fixed his tie as he took a step toward the door, "I apologize if it is of any inconvenience to you all, but the boy had no business applying for this job in the first place. His talents are wasted on all this..." Mr. Chang flapped his hand dismissively, "My Little Pony nonsense."

Ezio just frowned abd laughed "is this a joke?" he said and looked to Gjovanni whk was trying to hjde a smirk.
"Mr. chang, Orion is not leaving. now i am going to ask you to leave one more time, if you dont i'll hVe to call the police abd then i'll sue you for tresspassing on our private property.And dont think I dknt have the money to do something like that well, because..." Giovanni paused and looked around his office and smiled "I think I do".
Ezio just laughed and looked away, feeling a little embarrased for Mr Chang.
"Its time to go" Ezio sajd gently to him.

Mr. Chang smiled stiffly at Giovanni's threats, obviously aware that he had been bested this time - but this was far from over. "Very well..." He murmured quietly, "I apologize for the inconvenience, I'll collect my things and be on my way."
With that, he turned his back and strode out of the office, then out of the house.
When he arrived in the yard, he saw Orion sitting on the fountain. The latter looked up at the sound of the slamming door, and slowly stood when his eyes fixed on Mr. Chang.
The Asian gentleman strode quickly over to him, and an expression of animalistic fury twisted Orion's gentle features into something terrifying.
"You!" He snarled, striding over to meet his foster father, "You dare show your-" Before he could finish, a palm caught him sharply across the face, and he stumbled with the force of it. "Orion," Mr. Change growled quietly, "Enough of this nonsense. Pick up your bags, and let's go."
Rubbing his cheek, Orion looked back at his foster father and snarled, "You can't control me!"
"Oh... You want to bet?" The Asian's eyes narrowed, becoming nothing but dark slits in his face, "I think you'll find, Orion, that I can do exactly that. You belong to me. Now get into that car," He pointed harshly, "Or I'll make sure that you regret it!"
"Get the f*ck out of here!" Orion snapped in response, teeth flashing savagely, "This is my life, and you have no say here! I won't be your f*cking puppet any more."
Mr. Chang aimed another slap at him, but this time Orion was ready for it, and he smacked the man's hand away.
"You'll regret this." Mr. Chang snarled, then he shoved roughly past Orion and strode angrily back to his car, leaving his foster son staring after him and shaking with absolute fury.
