I leaned against my lockers, happily chatting away on my phone, while I was fishing through my bag, trying to find my locker keys. "Oh dang..where are they?!"

Gary walked into the school and found Alex rummaging through her bag and snuck up behind her. "Whatcha lookin for!?" He said suddenly to make her jump. He couldnt help but laugh.

I jumped out of my skin as Gary approached me, dropping my phone from my ear but luckily catching it in my free hand. "Don't do that!" I hit him playfully on the arm, before raising the phone again. "I'll call you later, alright?"

"Hey now, come on you know you arent supposed to be on the phone during school silly girl" He smiled and leaned on his locker watching her. "Sorry for scarin ya, but i cant help it" He chuckled

I flipped the phone into my back pocket, and continued to find my keys. "I can't find my damn keys!" I muttered.

"Alex, remember? You gave them to me yesterday" He said with a smile and held up the lanyard with the keys dangling down on the end of it. "Sometimes you have a crappy memory" He chuckled and handed them to her.

I sighed and took the keys from him. "Oh thank God you had them. I thought I was done for." I chuckled, and inserted the key into my lock, retrieving the books I needed and closing it again, making sure I noted the place where I put them back. "Come on, we better get to class." I smiled at him, before stating to walk down the corridor towards Science.

"Ugh i just wanna go home!" He groaned playfully and trudged along behind her. His grades were good as well as his attendance, giving him some slack with the teachers. So if he needed it, he could take the day off, also his home life gives him the slack he needed.

I sighed. "Uugh, same. Unlike you, I have to attend school, otherwise it's detention for me for the rest of the year. You know how much time I've been spending away with friends and such." I looked up at him.

"Yeah, i understand" He said with a lighter tone. "Well you know you could always let me homeschool you" He joked and nudged her as they walked.

I scoffed. "Homeschool? Give over Gary!" I walked into his side, grinning. "You know I'm not doing well." I shrugged.

"Well you know im here if you need me." He said with a smile and Ricky shoulder checked him as he walked by and Gary snapped around from the hit and glared at him. "Watch where youre goin kid" Ricky said with a smug face.

I watched as the two stared eachother down, before pulling Gary on. "Leave him, he's an idiot." I walked along, wondering what just happened. "What's up with you and him? I've never known you two to be so...hostile before."

"I have my own reasons with that guy" he growled in frustration and walked with her to class. "He thinks hes better than everyone else" He sighed and let himself cool down.

I stopped outside the class. "Don't worry about him. He'll cool down."

"Mhm." He said and let her go in first. "Ladies first friend or not" He chuckled and followed her into the class room.

I chuckled, and walked in, taking my usual seat at the back. Not long afterwards the teacher walked in, and the class quietened down.

He walked in and took his seat as well. Throughout the day, Ricky gave him some trouble and he did his best to ignore it. At the end of the day though, was enough for the day for Gary. It was while all the younger kids who couldnt drive waited for the buses. Ricky came out and began starting with Gary. He knew how to press his buttons and press them quick. "Ricky just back the hell off!" He roared and pushed him into his buddies. Now a fight hung in the air and something was going to happen.

I was walking out of school with a bunch of girls, chatting away to them, as my last few lessons hadn't been with Gary. As soon as I walked out to my yellow Chevrolet Camaro, I noticed what was going on a few cars down the line. I peered over the shoulders of the people who were surrounding the fight, but as soon as I noticed Gary's face among them, I left my bag on the bonnet of my car and jogged over, pushing to the front of the circle.

"Dont Push me!" Ricky roared back shoving gary into someones car, rocking it considerably. "That's it!" Gary roared back and lunged for him as Ricky went towards him. Now there was no holding back. Then Ricky froze after a couple of scuffles laying eyes on Alex. "Well well well. I see you brought your little girlfriend to watch the show" He grinned and walked over to her snaking an arm around her with a smug smile. "Ricky dont even go there." Gary growled at him. "Watch me." He snarled and with that Gary lunged at him again pinning him against a car hood. "Im not about to get in trouble over you, but if you lay a single hand on her, im willing to go to jail. Do you hear me?" He growled in a low angry voice then shook him. "Do you hear me?!" He roared again in his face before throwing him back to his buddies and they stalked off.

I jumped back in surprise as the two started fighting, it was inevitable, but when Ricky headed over to me, I froze, staring at Ricky as he approached me. As he wrapped an arm around me I felt my face growing hot, even more so when Gary threatened him. Once the pair were done, I grabbed Gary's arm and pulled him back towards my car. "What the hell were you thinking?"

"I wasnt." He said softly now feeling bad for letting her see that. Truthfully, he couldnt bare to see him touch her like he did. Over the years he had developed feelings for her, though all that was lost now that he pulled something like that

I sighed. "No...you weren't. If you got hurt, or arrested, then I couldn't live with myself." I sat on the bonnet of my car, picking up my bag again and picking out my keys. "What is going on between you two? You can trust me Gary, I won't tell anyone." I looked up at him pleadingly. I needed him to share what was egging him so much, otherwise he'd just end up letting out all his bottled anger on him next time the two met.
