Yes Inkerz. Short. Like it says in the title. Wink Let's try stick to a 200 word limit. TRY. XD I'm sure we can forgive going over for a twist or something, but, well... Yeah. Let's try. Razz

Setting: Skyrim
Plotline: War of Skyrim, Kingdom vs. Rebels.

My Character:

Name: Lexus Karson Knox (Lex)

Age: 23

Appearance:
Lexus has white hair. Not old and wispy-white, but rather a platinum-pale silver with a healthy gleam. It is strange, but somehow it suits Lex’s pale complexion. He has dark grey eyes, flecked subtly with patterns of liquid silver.
He is toned from working on ships, and in his tattered white vest and frayed jeans hacked halfway, Lex makes quite a picture.
He’s a little under average height at 5’9, but it suits him well, since he has a friendly, accessible face unsuited to intimidating height.
Lex has a charming smile, and a certain aura about him that draws people to him, and encourages them to trust him.

Other:
Lex is a spy and a double agent. He crews ships to learn of their secrets, then vanishes in the middle of the night with as much loot as he can load into his pockets. He is suited to his job, since he is a compulsive liar and a kleptomaniac by nature.
Still, despite his downfalls, Lex is a genuinely decent guy to the few people he opens up to; and when he’s on your side, he is honest as they come.
Problem is, nobody ever seems to know just whose side Lex is on…
He is also a very skilled swordfighter, and tends to be a reckless daredevil, both within battle and out. He is an agent for the King. At least, some people say he is. Others seem to think he's just pretending to work for the King under the rebel leader's orders, but nobody really knows. Sometimes it seems like Lex doesn't even know, himself...

Horse: Amarth (Elvish for 'Doom')
A tall, slenderly-built breed of horse traditionally belonging to the elves. They are renowned for their fleetness and agility and surefooted-ness, as well as their courage in the heat of battle, though these majestic creatures are not well suited to a cavalry charge, since they lack the bulk and power of traditional war horses. They are bred for Elvish cavalry - generally archers on the back lines.
Amarth is a sleek black stallion with a glossy coat, standing just over 17hh. He has beautiful conformation, and shocking blue eyes, as well as a wide blaze on his face. His mane and tail are long and elegantly flowing, and his long, slender legs are perfectly unblemished.

Name: November Hawking

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Occupation: Royal Mage/ Alchemist of the High King, Leonhart

Race: Human

Description: November is by nature, very reserved, conservative and shy. He is known for being a bit of a know it all, but gets easily embarrassed. The fact that he is filled with way too much nervous energy doesn’t help him and he can get extremely panicked over the simplest of things. This mostly caused by an extreme case of paranoia and schizophrenia.
November is very handsome, but his appearance would fall under your typical “bookworm” class guy. His build is skinny and small, not athletic. His sharp features and pale face are enhanced by thin black glasses which are always perched on the bridge his nose, giving him an extremely intelligent appearance. His eyes are a light silvery grey color which compliment his pale blone hair.
As for the style of his hair it is cut short at the nape of the neck, and left to grow longer over his ears, stopping a little past his jaw line.
Attire and other: November usually dresses in tight-fitting black pants, complimented with a long white flanel shirt. Over this basic attire he often dons a long, ankle length hooded mage cloak.
The boy's weapon of choice is either a willow woven bow, or his gnarled mage's staff.

"...And good RIDDANCE!" came the last furious shout of what had been a great deal of yelling as Lex was thrown unceremoniously from a pawn shop on the outskirts of Falador, a seaside town nestled on the brinks of Skyrim.
He stood with a huff and dusted himself off, thoroughly unabashed. It wasn't often that he was caught stealing, but he supposed that picking the lock of the weapon cabinet in broad daylight and during business hours had probably not been a good idea. Still, he had no regrets. He lived for the rush. Besides... He had got what he came for.
Smirking to himself, Lex pulled a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket, bearing the directions to Falador Mages' Guild in black ink.
He was looking for that guild. More specifically, for a mage in the guild, a mage called November; who had something that the Rebel Leader wanted very much.
Lex wasn't sure of the specifics, but he had been told that it was a spell of some sort... A new invention, and an important one at that. He had been sent to steal the plans, and take them back to the Rebel Leader. The way Lex saw it, it would be a piece of cake...

(So much for Short XD...Don't worry I will get this right!!)

The sound of vicious scribbling and writing echoed through out the library area of the Falador Royal mage's guide. Deep inside the elaborate library, behind mountains of unpacked books and precariously stacked piles of paper, was a young mage named November.
He had been hard at work for months on a secret list of spells designed specifically for the King and his knights.
The idea was to create magic usable for battle, possibly to gain the upper hand on the fight currently against the rebel king or any other warlord that dared to threaten the peace of skyrim.
Of course casting magic was always easier that designing it and unfortunately for November, his job lay in complex equations and seemingly unsolvable alchemy.
The boy mage sighed and grabbed a handful of his blonde hair frustratedly as he gazed over a complicated chart of symbols. His intelligent mind felt swollen with possibilities and solutions as to how he could solve it. It took him a few minutes to come up with a solution, but he eventually managed it and was about to ink a symbol, when suddenly a loud unceremonious squawk broke his concentration. Out of fright, the young mage sqweeled and threw his hands up in the air, smacking over a bottle of ink and Spilling the contents all over his notes and desk.
He gaped at his ruined notes in horror and was just about to dive into the ink puddle to save them, When suddenly a large black crow flew low over his head, landing clumsily on a tower of leaning books.
November swung around in annoyance to face the disturber of his peace. “Gawk!! You stupid primitive, bottom end of a broomstick...Look What you done to my papers!! ”
The bird gazed lazily with it's beady eyes at November before threatening the mage with a cocky snap. The boy yelped fearfully before throwing a book at the crow in retaliation.
Naturally the book didn't even touch Gawk, but the crow seemed mildly amused and flew over November's head once again, this time landing on it's owners shoulder with a little more dignity.
The young mage took note of a message attached the crow's leg and began, with much difficulty and fighting to untie the small message capsule.
Once he finally received and read the message he was completely taken aback by it's contents. Fearfully he quickly gathered up a list of ingredients, followed by a few necessary items and bolted out the library, through the Mage's guide and out into the town. His white hooded cloak fluttering behind him and his trusty, yet completely annoying pet crow; Gawk soared close over head.

Lex shoved the directions back into his pocket, then raised his fingers to his lips and gave a loud whistle, the sound was of such a high pitch that it was only mildly audible to human ears, but to the ears of his Elven horse, Amarth, it could carry over many miles.
Lex stood, shoving his hands into his pockets, and waited as the distant sound of galloping hoofbeats began rolling toward him. After a while of waiting, an elegant black stallion burst through the crowd of people before him, leaving them muttering in disgust, and trotted up to greet its owner.
"How you doing, old friend?" Lex murmured softly, allowing a soft smile to creep across his lips as he rubbed the stallion's satin-smooth cheek.
After taking a moment to greet his horse, Lex jabbed his foot into the stirrup of his saddle and swung aboard, flicking the reins at Amarth. He had never been taught to ride properly - he had just sort of figured it out based on how Amarth responded, and now the two had formed quite a rapport.
Clucking to his horse, Lex sent the stallion cantering through the streets, unconcernedly watching as the crowds parted before him. Most of the citizens were used to warriors riding recklessly through the streets, so they moved automatically out of the way, but then Lex ran into one who didn't.
The young man was running toward him, white cloak flying behind him, when Lex realized that he hadn't noticed the approaching horse.
"Whoa!" He called sharply, jerking drastically on the reins as he forgot Amarth's quick responses. The stallion grunted in surprise, and threw his hocks beneath him as he skidded to a stop, sending the unstable Lex toppling over his shoulder.
He landed on his feet with a yelp of surprise, then overbalanced and stumbled sideways, toppling into the young man that he had tried so hard to avoid.
"Whoopsy!" He exclaimed with a laugh, catching the man by the shoulders and managing to steady both the stranger and himself before they fell over one another, "Watch it, mate." He warned, dusting off the man's white cloak in a friendly fashion, "You should watch where you're going 'round here."
He smiled, and bent to collect the papers that had been knocked out of the man's hands in the scuffle. He stacked them up and placed them in the stranger's hands, then said kindly, "Sorry 'bout that. You look like you're in some sort of hurry - want a lift?" He jerked a thumb over his shoulder, indicating the disgruntled Amarth, who was watching his owner with obvious distaste - still rather annoyed for the unfair yank in the teeth.

November usually never left the safety of his dorm if he could help it, but thanks to the urgent message he had received, he was forced to walk Falador's 'Dangerous' streets in search of a place known as 'Poison Apple Tavern'
The young mage had been so completely engulfed in his mess of directional scrolls and maps that he hadn't even noticed the oncoming black stallion that was cantering his way.
With a sharp shout the rider of the massive horse brought the stallion to a skidding halt a few inches from an unconcerned November. The young mage noticed nothing as he walked on with his nose in his papers. It was only when the rider had unstably toppled off his horse and into November, that the boy yelped in sudden surprise.
"Whoopsy!...Watch it, mate" the Stranger exclaimed with a casual laugh as he steadied November by the shoulders. The mage felt nervous panic bolt through him as he manged to regain some balance and turned around to face the stranger, avoiding eye contact beneath his hood cloak, "S-Sorry! I'm Sorry!" he stammered as the stranger helped him dust off his cloak.
"You should watch where you're going 'round here.", the man added in friendly tone as November quickly snatched up the straying bits of parchment he had dropped. He felt embarrassment redden his pale cheeks and tried not to gaze directly at the man unless he needed too.
Great...My first day back in town after months of safety and isolation, and I already land up in trouble...The outdoors truly is a health hazard...how are people supposed to live out here!, he thought panicky as he and the stranger collected the remaining papers.
"Sorry 'bout that. You look like you're in some sort of hurry - want a lift?" the stranger offered as he handed November the remaining papers and pointed towards the black stallion behind him.
The nervous boy finally allowed himself to look at the stranger properly, his silver gaze meeting a strange pair of deep mysterious gray eyes that were embedded into the handsome face of a young man with beautiful snow-white hair.
Shyly November pulled his hood lower over his own face, hiding his deepening blush, but gratefully took the papers from him. "Err...you don't have to do that...but I guess since I'm already late... Is it safe?" he asked cautiously as he silver eyes examined the intimidating beast behind the white-haired youth. Usually November would have just said no and sorry at such an offer, but today he was in a bit of a time pinch.
"I'm supposed to go to the 'Poison Apple' tavern...If it's on your way, then I wouldn't mind?" he added with small grateful smile as he followed the handsome youth over to the black stallion.
November had never quite seen an elven horse in real-life, naturally he'd read about them in books, but seeing one so close brought awe to his expression and he threw the stranger a look of appreciation, "Your Horse, He's elven isn't he?...You can tell by the bone structure and muscle conformation."

"Mm-hm." Lex grunted in response, "It's safe. Ammy wouldn't hurt a fly." He grinned, and ushered the stranger over to his horse, which was still glaring grumpily at him for the unceremonious dismount. For all their perks, Elven horses were not the most forgiving of beasts.
"Your horse, he's elven isn't he?" The robed man murmured as he reached Amarth's side, casting an appraising gaze over the stallion, "You can tell by the bone structure and muscle conformation."
"A man who knows his horses..." Lex replied, rubbing his chin thoughtfully, "Now that's a refreshing sight." He nodded toward the stallion, and added, "Come on, I'll give you a lift. The Poison Apple isn't on my way, but I'm in no hurry - and besides, I'd like to get to know folks around here."
He mounted Amarth, then offered his hand and pulled the stranger up behind him with surprising ease.
"I'm Lex, by the way." He added, glancing over his shoulder with a friendly grin, "Lexus Knox. And this is Amarth." He patted the stallion's neck, then clucked to him and sent him cruising down the street in a smooth, rocking-horse canter.
"We're new here." He explained, glancing at the man behind him out of the corner of his eye as he steered his stallion, "Will you tell me the way?"

November took the stranger's hand trustingly as the white-haired youth pulled him up onto the back of stallion behind him with frightening strength.
"I'm Lex, by the way...Lexus Knox... And this is Amarth.", the youth added as he flashed a handsome grin at November before giving the black stallion an affectionate pat.
November smiled weakly in response as he inwardly calculated the rate of falling and the possibility of breaking an arm if he accidentally toppled off from atop Amarth.
“It's nice to meet you” November added in a small friendly voice before silently thinking over whether or not it was social protocol to give out his name in response.
He hesitated for a moment before continuing,“My name's November...November Hawking of the Falador Mage's guide”
November gazed curiously at Lex from behind, as the white-haired youth suddenly began to speak, “We're new here...Will you tell me the way?”
The young mage nodded before nervously fiddling with a map and giving accurate and sharp directions to the Poison Apple Tavern.
It took a good few minutes of riding around Town, but eventually the pair wound up at the decrepit looking wooden Tavern. A rotting sign board with peeling red paint barely spelled out the words, 'Poison Apple'. The whole place had November shivering with fear. He knew that he would need to go in onto that place to meet up with a few travelling Kahjiit for ingredients, but in all honesty he didn't think he could do it.
“T-This is the place...I guess I better get going” he added with clear stress as he very carefully began to Slide down from Amarth's back and onto the ground. “Thank you again for the ride”
He was about to start his brave mission towards the front door of the tavern, when suddenly his long cloak caught his foot and sent him crashing face first into the dirt. November didn't stir from his fallen state immediately, possibly not wanting to face who ever it was inside the tavern straight away.
Much to his utter dismay Gawk flew overhead and landed next to his head with a loud unceremonious squawk. The cheeky crow had seen enough and gave the young mage a hard peak on the ear.
November squeaked painfully in response and sat up cutely from where had been laying. His white hood had now fallen down to reveal his short ash-blonde hair and sharp young face.

When they arrived at the Poison Apple, Lex pulled Amarth up, and waited for November to dismount.
November. It couldn't possibly be a coincidence that this young man had the same name as the mage that he was looking for, but on the other hand, he hardly seemed the type capable of creating something that could change the fate of the world. He watched the nervous young man thoughtfully, trying to decide what to do, then had to suddenly slap a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing when poor November tripped over his cloak and fell face-first into the dirt.
"Oh, God." Lex chuckled incredulously, dismounting gracefully from Amarth's back, and pulling November to his feet in a dignified fashion, "It's really not your day, is it?" He teased, shaking his head in amusement as he brushed the dirt from November's shoulders, and cast a curious glance at the noisy crow circling overhead.
As he was dusting the man off, Lex managed to sneak a peek at the note in his hand, and upon seeing the Royal seal stamped onto it, he determined that this was in fact the man he was looking for, difficult as it was to believe. He couldn't let this mage get away so easily, but if he was going to succeed, then he would have to be subtle...
"Say," Lex murmured casually, casting a brief glance toward the rowdy crowd inside the tavern, "Looks like a dangerous place." He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, then asked with an airy, hinting tone, "You gonna go in there alone, Mate?"
Amarth snorted as though in amusement, and shook his head, pulling his lip up at Lex.
"Shush, you." Lex scolded, flashing his horse a grin, then turning back to November.
"Come on." He said, "I'll go in with you. Ammy and I don't have to be anywhere right now, and I'd like to see what sort of people are hanging around here. I've heard rumours of Kahjiit traders in this town - Divines know they stock everything."

"It's really not your day, is it?"
November felt Lex's arm pull him up off the ground and back onto his feet.
"Say...Looks like a dangerous place, You gonna go in there alone, Mate?", Lex observed casually, pretty much summing up Novembers own unhappy thoughts that he'd been trying so hard to deny.
“Yeah...I-I'm sure It looks worse than what it is...I mean how bad could it possibly be right?”, November's expression seemed to go pale for a moment as he tried to reassure himself, “It'll be fine Right?...”
He gazed momentarily at Lex, then fearfully back at the noisy tavern.
"Come on, I'll go in with you. Ammy and I don't have to be anywhere right now, and I'd like to see what sort of people are hanging around here. I've heard rumours of Kahjiit traders in this town - Divines know they stock everything." Lex stated with keen grin.
November felt relief bubble up inside his chest and he beamed gratefully at Lex as they silently made their way towards the rickety Tavern door, pushing it open cautiously before entering.
Once inside the strong stench of alcohol, cooked meat, human sweat and mold wafted around the large bar area of the tavern. November felt himself repress a revolted gag, he probably would have passed out from the amount of germs in the air, but he managed to pull himself together as searched the room concerndly for the Kahjiit traders he was supposed to meet with.
It took him a moment to identify the fierce looking feline traders, but eventually he found them hanging around a wooden bench in the far corner of the room. “Ah...There they are, look friendly enough don't they?” November added with a wavering frightened voice as he strode hesitantly towards the traders, the royal sealed note clutched tightly in his shivering hand.

As they came to the table, the small group of traders turned their heads suspiciously towards the boys.
Can we help you with something?, a brutish-looking warrior inquired as he took a swig from his beer mug.
November felt his nervousness melt away as he breathed in deeply for confidence. Once he was on the job, he changed his personality almost completely.
Adjusting his glasses professionally, he greeted the Kahjiits with a serious yet friendly enough tone, “Actually yes, I'm Looking for a Kahjiit named Garless, Is he with you group?”
A leopard-spotted female was the first one to respond, “ 'She' would be me young mage...I take it that your the boy 'His' Majesty sent then?”
November nodded with polite elegance as he offered the sealed message to her. She snatched it from him with threatening claws before unraveling the note casually and reading over it.
“Ah?...We have all that you need... for a price naturally ” she purred slyly before sliding a large bag of bottles and ingredients towards November.
The young mage gazed curiously at the bag as he cautiously opened it to inspect the quality of the stock.
His expression went unreadable for a moment as he picked through the contents, before suddenly pulling his hand out. “There are only half of the requested goods in here...I also don't see any Barthwick root. There must be a mistake”, he added politely as his intelligent eyes flickered questionably to the golden slits of the Kahjiit's.
Garless smirked momentarily before slowly standing up to loam over November, “I know...” she started simply as the group slowly began to enclose Lex and November. “I'm sorry young Mage, but we can't let the king create such a dangerous magic...your going to come with us now”
November felt his confidence fall to pieces almost instantly and he returned to his original nervous pathetic state.

Lex watched the exchange between November and the Kahjiits with polite curiosity; until it began to go pear-shaped. Then he watched with open enjoyment.
"Oh-ho!" He exclaimed, shooting November an amused glance, "You really do have a knack for getting into trouble, don'tcha, Mate?"
His keen eyes tracked the progress of Garless and her group as the humanoid felines surrounded them, one or the larger males cracking his furry knuckles threateningly. Lex found himself trapped beside November, back to the wall, and he ushered the young mage kindly behind him as he stepped forward to meet the threatening golden glares fixed upon him.
"Now now, Fellas, Lady," Lex began peacibly, addressing the group in a polite fashion and raising his hands in a submissive gesture, "This lad doesn't mean you no harm." He jerked his thumb over his shoulder to indicate November, "He's just doing his job, is all. Surely respectable traders like yourself can respect that?"
"Respect a human?" A leopard-spotted Kahjiit male snarled, spitting on the floor, "Not likely. Just hand him over, kid. This is none of your concern."
"Quite the contrary, friend." Lex responded casually, "I'm here to keep the peace, if you'll let me."
The Kahjiit looked at one another, and burst out laughing simultaneously. "Give it up, human." Garless laughed, "Now step aside so I can take that mage. Skyrim will thank you for it."
The feline moved forward, and reached a clawed hand past Lex to grab November's shoulder. But before the claws sunk in, Lex's leather-gloved hand closed around her furry forearm, and she uttered a blood-curdling yowl as Lex twisted her arm effortlessly around, and yanked her towards him - using her as a shield against her accomplices.
"Come now, kitties," Lex teased, teeth flashing dangerously as he grinned at the Kahjiit, "Let's not make this unpleasant." His eyes narrowed, and he shoved Garless forward into her group, raising his fists in defense as he finished, "I'd hate to stain that pretty fur of yours..."

There was a moment's hesitation, and the next moment, the Kahjiit had thrown themselves simultaneously at Lex.
Laughing in exhilaration, he grabbed the nearest chair, and smacked it hard into his nearest attacker - knocking him back into his accomplice, and shattering the wooden chair in the process.
A small scuffle broke out after that, but it soon ended with Lex dusting his hands in a highly self-satisfied fashion, and the beaten Kahjiit fleeing the tavern with angry growls and shaking fists.
Once he was done congratulating himself, Lex turned to November and, seemingly from nowhere, lifted up Garless's bag of ingredients.
"You need this, right?" He asked pleasantly, handing it to November, "They must have left it, I guess."
He accompanied his effortless lie with a smile, and once November had taken the bag, Lex sat down at the nearest table, and helped himself to a drink of ale - also seemingly conjured from thin air - though a man at the next table seemed to be searching for his own pint...

"Oh-ho! You really do have a knack for getting into trouble, don'tcha, Mate?" Lex exclaimed with clear amusement as he and November stood with their backs to wall, surrounded by the Kahjiits.
November swallowed fearfully, his heart beating like a drum inside his chest. “I-It would appear so” he stammered nervously as Lex stepped protectively in-front of him. The young mage was surprised by Lex's action and hid uncertainly behind the elder boy as the man confronted Garless and her group.
Lex seemed to take control of the situation, much to November's relief and the mage simply watched with simple awe as Lex began to converse with the hostile Kahjiits.
For a moment things looked as though they would work out without any conflict, but then the Kahjiit's bared their fangs stubbornly to Lex's peaceful proposal.
November felt painful fear trickle down his spine as Garless's clawed Forearm crept past Lex and onto his shoulder. The feline leader's cruel words echoing through his sensitive ears, "Now step aside so I can take that mage...Skyrim will thank you for it."
November didn't dare move, his intelligent mind seemed hard as work with some inner conflict. He probably would have been torn to pieces in his stunned state, Thankfully as Luck would have it Lex took action and twisted Garless's hand away from November, causing the feline to yowl painfully.
November blinked stupidly for moment before gaping in shock as Lex had Garless in a military hold, using her as a shield against her own warriors. “W-What are you doing?!” he yelped in alarm before taking in the sight of the oncoming Kahjiits. “Oh?...I-I'll help” he mumbled nervously as he fumbled his belt clumsily in in search of his wand, eventually find it and pointing the gnarled looking stick in the direction of the warriors. It wasn't a very impressive sight, but with everything happening so fast their wasn't time for November to summon his staff.
"Come now, kitties, Let's not make this unpleasant." Lex threatened as he suddenly shoved Garless forward into her group, "I'd hate to stain that pretty fur of yours..."
November stared at Lex in bewilderment as the Kahjiits threw themselves at them. He was at a sudden loss on to how to fight, but watched the strange white-haired boy inquisitively. Lex seemed to know he was doing and took hold of a chair near November, smacking it full-force into the first two attackers sending them smashing across the room.
November gulped in horror as he watched the squabble through his intelligent eyes. Gaining a little courage he squeaked a quick binding spell and cast a whip of light that darted around the room tangling up a few of their enemies in the process.
The scuffle ended soon after that and November stepped cautiously over the defeated forms of the Kahjiits and everyone else involved, making sure not to touch them out of fear of germs, dirt and fleas.
Lex wasn't too far away from him and November smiled cheerfully as he approached the strange boy. His silver eyes wide with awe beneath his thin glasses, “That was amazing!, You took them all out without even using any magic”.
Lex met November with a pleasant expression and lifted the bag of ingredients towards him, "You need this, right?"
November nodded happily and gratefully took the bag, “Thank you...but err How did you get it?” he added curiously. "They must have left it, I guess.", Lex answered, a reassuring smile playing on his lips as he flopped down at a nearby table. November smiled with gentle satisfaction as examined the strange boy, he felt as though he could easily trust the guy, their was just something about him that November liked.
“So Lex... who exactly are you?” he asked with a suddenly sullen expression, his gnarled wand hanging loosely in his hand. November defiantly wanted to trust Lex, but he couldn’t exactly look over the fact that the strange guy had simply pulverized an entire group of Kahjiits without so much as a scratch.
He gazed curiously at Lex through intelligent eyes, “You aren’t working for the king are you?” he asked with a polite smile as he neatly dusted off a chair, making sure that it was perfectly clean before sitting down to face Lex on even grounds.
November despite his occupation, didn't trust the king or his knights in the slightest. He was just a pawn in their game, loyally following orders with out question.

Lex was pleased to accept November's praise, and he sat at the table sipping his mug of ale in a self-satisfied fashion. He was aware of the mage still watching him, and he cast him a curious glance when he spoke.
“So Lex... who exactly are you?” He asked cautiously, causing Lex to raise an eyebrow in response. “You aren’t working for the king are you?” November went on, pulling up a chair opposite Lex and fixing him with a polite smile.
Lex considered this, then took a moment to formulate his lie.
"Nah, I don't work for the king." He answered, shrugging, "I'm just a traveler. I go from place to place looking for odd jobs, and," He shrugged, "Cleaning up the trash if I feel like it." He jabbed a thumb after the Kahjiit to demonstrate. "I learned to fight in Summerset Isle with the High Elves. That's also where I got Amarth."
He stopped then, and took a great swig of ale, draining his mug before placing it back on the table.
"Well," He grunted, returning his attention to November, "That's me. But what about you, huh?" He propped his elbows on the table, then folded his fingers into a steeple and leaned forward to consider November with a suspiciously raised eyebrow, "You've gotta be some kinda important guy to be designing 'dangerous magic' for the king..."

“Oh a Traveler?...Ah I see that must be pretty interesting”, November added with clear fascination. He smiled to himself as he pictured Lex traveling to all the different places he had only read about through the safety of his books. Must be really nice...but way too dangerous for a person like me
November turned attention back to Lex as the strange boy drained the last of the ale from his mug, before meeting the mage's gentle gaze with a suspiciously raise eyebrow, "Well, That's me. But what about you, huh?"
November felt his stomach muscles tense slightly, “Oh Me?...I'm nobody in particular really”, he murmured nervously as he watched Lex prop his elbows up on the dirty table. The strange boy's deep grey eyes didn't seemed all that satisfied with his answer. "You've gotta be some kinda important guy to be designing 'dangerous magic' for the king...", Lex pressed.
November was in a slight pinch, he knew that he was under oath not to speak about his mission, but he also couldn’t deny the fact that he had given away most of his secret already through the whole Kahjiit incident. He adjusted his glasses thoughtfully, his expression fainthearted and soft, “I'm just a Mage following orders, If the King wants me to design something...then who am I to disagree.”
The young mage held a heavy amount of guilt, he obviously knew that what he was creating would be a threat to all of Skyrim, but it wasn't as if he had had a choice in the matter.
He beamed weakly at Lex, “Thanks again for helping me out back there...but I suppose I better get going.”
With that said November politely stood and up and began to pad uneasily towards the door.
He was about to exit the tavern when suddenly a mess of fearful thoughts crashed through his brain.
Robbers, Thieves, murders, germs, animals, poverty, starvation, disease...all of that awaited him outside the door
He stared at the door with utter and complete horror. He just knew that he wouldn't be able to survive the trip back to the guild, it was a whole two kilometers after all...in the dark.
The young mage crumble pathetically infront of the door, making deadly sure not to touch it.

“I'm just a Mage following orders." November replied softly, "If the King wants me to design something... Then who am I to disagree?”
Apparently this was good enough for Lex, because he shrugged, and cast an absentminded glance at the table beside theirs, where a man's coin purse lay unattended beside his burly forearm.
This held his attention for a while, until November spoke again, and Lex looked back to see the mage smiling brightly at him.
“Thanks again for helping me out back there..." November said, standing up, "but I suppose I better get going.”
"Don't mention it." Lex replied simply, smiling despite the warning lights that went off in his head.
I can't let him leave.
With an effort, Lex managed to play it cool - watching November out of the corner of his eye as the boy walked to the door, then paused.
Then, much to Lex's surprise November crumbled to the dirty tavern floor in front of the door.
Startled, he leaped up and raced to November's side (snatching the coin purse he'd had his eye on in the process), then dropped to one knee beside him.
"Hey!" He exclaimed, grabbing the boy's chin in his panic to force him to meet his eyes, "You okay? That Garless didn't poison you, did she? I thought her dagger..." He trailed off as his eyes searched November's, finding the boy's gaze perfectly clear. He showed no traces of poison whatsoever.
"You're fine." Lex concluded with a sigh, shaking his head and uttering a weary chuckle. He stood, then took a firm grip on November's arm and pulled him to his feet. Good lord... He thought to himself with amusement, This guy's pathetic.
"Come on." He said, opening the door and pushing November out into the cool, darkening evening, "I saved your ass back there. The least you can do is lend me a place to sleep."

"Hey!", Lex exclaimed in panic as he darted over to were November had collapsed, taking hold of the boy's chin and forcing him to look into the white-haired boy's deep grey eyes.
November felt a faint blush taint his pale cheeks as Lex searched his face, "You okay? That Garless didn't poison you, did she? I thought her dagger...”
November sat up in sudden alarm, “What about her dagger!?...No wait, I'm fine... I didn't get cut, well at least I don't think I did ” he added with slight paranoia as Lex slowly shook his head and chuckled wearily. "You're fine."
November quirked an eyebrow uncertainly as he took in the horribly filthy state of the floor he had been laying on. Oh God! Those germs are probably crawling all over me...What if I catch a some kind of disease
The young mage suddenly felt faint, but managed to pull himself together as Lex took hold of his arm and firmly pulled him up to his feet.
“Oh? Err...Thank you” he added with a small nervous smile.
"Come on" Lex stated simply as he opened the door for November, pushing the boy much to his dismay out into the terrifying dark.
November felt his stomach sink, he was out of his comfort zone...out in the open world.
"I saved your ass back there. The least you can do is lend me a place to sleep." Lex murmured factually, catching November's attention and making him focus on his companion and not on his fears.
“Give you a place to stay?...I can't really, but then again, you did save me” November mumbled thoughtfully before throwing a worrisome look around the dodgy looking area he was still stuck in. If he said no to Lex's request, he would have to walk back to the guild on his own.
The young mage sighed in defeat before smiling warmly at Lex, “I'm sure I can get you a place to stay for the night.”, November paused for a moment before added with a suddenly serious tone, “Only one night of course”
The young mage turned his focus to Lex's horse; Amarth.
Much to his utter disgust, Gawk had clearly taken a liking to the elven creature, swooping swiftly around the black stallion's head, tugging teasingly on the creatures mane and tail, squawking loudly with pride.
November felt his eye twitch with agitation, “GAWK! Stop that!” he scolded angrily.
Pulling out his gnarled-looking wand and pointing it threateningly at the bird, he murmured a quick enchantment.
Instantly a trickle of bouncy white light shot from the tip of his wand, hitting Gawk face first and transforming the cheeky crow back into it's original form; An ornately carved wooden staff with an enchanted black stone at the tip.
November walked casually over to wear his staff lay, before picking it up with annoyance, “You better think about what you've done you dirty feather duster”
The young mage then turned his gaze from his staff back to Lex, “Shall we get going then?”

November seemed to consider Lex's request for a moment, looking slightly uncertain. Then, at last, he gave in to Lex's request, and said, “I'm sure I can get you a place to stay for the night. Only one night of course.”
"It's something." Lex shrugged, flashing a friendly smile as he accompanied November out into the street, to see his majestic stallion all sweated up and snorting in frustration as it flailed its hooves and snapped its teeth desperately in the direction of the impish crow squawking around its head. Lex just watched in amused disbelief as November started shouting abuse at the bird, then he waved his wand at it and-
Lex blinked. Where the bird had been a moment before, an elegant mages' staff now lay on the ground. His eyes widened in surprise, and he scratched his head, unable to decide whether to feel incredulous or impressed.
"That's some staff." He commented simply, his lips twitching into a quirky smirk that said it all.
"Come on."
He clucked to Amarth, and mounted the stallion - who was still shaking from proud fury - then offered a hand to pull November up.
Once they were mounted, Lex sent his horse cantering on down the street. Following November's directions, they soon arrived at the guild, and Lex ignored his companion for a few moments as he gave his attention to Amarth. He untacked the horse, then murmured some words to him in Elven, and with a blink of understanding, Amarth turned and trotted away.
It was obvious that Lex had an understanding with his horse, because he didn't look the least bit concerned to see him go.
"Shall we go inside, then?" He suggested, turning to November, "And thanks, by the way. I appreciate you putting me up - I promise I won't cause any trouble." He smiled reassuringly, convincing as ever, and glanced toward the entrance to the guild. At least he knew where November stayed... But the next issue was, how could he convince him to leave it?

"That's some staff." Lex commented simply, a quirky smile playing on the strange boy's lips.
“Yeah... It's got a mind of it's own” November added with slight embarrassment, fiddling nervously with his cloak as he watched Lex mount his horse with ease.
"Come on.", Lex called casually as he offered a hand out to November, before pulling the mage up behind him .
Once November had securely seated himself, he latched his arms firmly around Lex's waist as Amarth began a steady canter down the street.
It took a few minutes of consistent traveling to reach the guild, but they soon arrived at the massive church-like building. The king's crest; with it's golden lion emblem, hung from banners all round the elaborate guild. November gulped with concern as he mulled miserably over the fact that he hadn't completed the King's request. He would probably have to be punished by the Guild elder later, but at least that was better than dealing with the king directly.
November slid clumsily off from Amarth with slight relief, He was glad to be back on firm ground.
The young mage then turned his attention to Lex, watching the traveller thoughtfully as he began to tend to his horse, untacking the massive stallion and murmuring words of elvish in the black beast's ears.
November was highly wonder-struck by the bond they seemed to share, he had read about the intelligence of elven horses, but never had he really witnessed it before. Amarth seemed to understand exactly what Lex was saying.
Of Course being raised under the Falador Mage's guild, November had been trained to have an excellent understanding of the All Skyrim languages, but unfortunately he could never quite get passed the theory of it. He could read and write, but the moment somebody tried to speak to him, he wouldn't have a clue about what they were saying. He usually just blamed it on the fact that the people of Skyrim had absolutely no idea about how to pronounce their words correctly.
"Shall we go inside, then?" Lex suddenly suggested, breaking November from his curious thoughtful daze. “Oh?...Right, Yes of course” he stammered quickly as he pulled out his wand and unlocked the enchanted door of the guild.
"And thanks, by the way. I appreciate you putting me up - I promise I won't cause any trouble." Lex added with a reassuring smile as November led him inside the the building. The young mage seemed pleased with Lex's politeness, his trust in the man was rather discomforting, considering that he barely knew the guy, “It's not a problem, I'm really grateful that you were there to help me out...” he replied cheerfully before adding in whispered voice, “I'm not really supposed to let strangers in here, so we better be quiet till we reach my dorm”
They padded quietly up a flight of stairs and down a seemingly endless marble corridor, turning left and right through multiple nooks and hallways before eventually reaching November's secluded dorm.
The young mage flickered his wand against the door, unlocking it simply before casually leading Lex inside.
November's dorm was more like a large private library than an actual living space, Bookshelves lined almost every inch of the walls and enchanted potion viles and oddly complex mathematical instruments floated playfully over head. The place that was assumably November's bed, had been buried beneath neatly stacked piles of papers and books.
The Young mage grinned shyly, “Err it's a little messy at the moment...sorry, I don't often have guests”.

Lex beamed when November thanked him again for his help, actually rather chuffed. It was nice to be appreciated, and he was slightly touched by the mage's gratitude.
“I'm not really supposed to let strangers in here," November went on, dragging Lex out of his thoughts, "So we better be quiet till we reach my dorm.”
Taking up a serious expression, Lex nodded, and followed November obediently up to his dorm, taking curious glances around and making mental notes on the way. At one point they passed a shelf of potion ingredients, and on the other side Lex came out three hagraven feathers and a giant's toe richer. Not that he was much of an alchemist - it was more for the rush, in any case.
When they reached November's room, Lex gazed around in awed surprise, taking in the strange instruments floating overhead, and the mountains of papers with complicated notes and equations scrawled upon them littering every inch of the floor. For the first time, he felt a small flare of respect for November. As expected of the king's top mage, this kid clearly knew what he was doing.
He ignored the man's apology about the mess, and stepped curiously further into the room, picking up a piece of paper and studying it with a frown.
"This is some complex stuff." He said, turning to November and handing him the page, then gesturing widely to the mess of pages in the room, "Did you do all this?" He asked, although he already knew the answer, "I've gotta say man, I'm impressed. I can see why the King would entrust you with creating such important magic."
He smiled warmly, and gave November a friendly pat on the shoulder, then turned his attention back to the buried bed.
"Dude..." He muttered, shaking his head in amusement, "Where do you sleep?"

November quickly began to snatch up all his loose papers, plucking them hastily from the floor and packing them into neat organized piles on and around his desk.
"This is some complex stuff..."Did you do all this?"", Lex added with interest as he examined one of November's notes before gesturing to the entire room full of notes.
“Yeah...Ah, but It's really not all that complex, it's just a matter of understanding spherical energies, chemical reactions, Alchemy and runes ” November added shyly as he adjusted his glasses intelligently before chasing a few of the floating books back to their shelves.
"I've gotta say man, I'm impressed. I can see why the King would entrust you with creating such important magic." Lex continued as he patted November approvingly on the shoulder, making the mage blush beet red. “Your too Kind” he added quietly with a deeply appreciative smile.
Not many people said things like that to him, but then again he didn't know to many people. There were many mages in the guild, but most of them were a lot older than November and shunned his youth, often saying that his ideas and views were too wild or unrealistic.
As a result November didn't have many friends or guests, he just used his time to focus on the work or studies.
Lex seemed to stare at November's buried bed with amusement and the young mage quirked an eyebrow curiously. "Dude...Where do you sleep?" , Lex mused with a clearly humored shake of his head.
November placed a finger thoughtfully to his lip s, as he curiously mulled over those words with interest. “Um, good question...I think I usually just fall asleep by my desk” he added cheerfully, “Don't worry though, your more than welcome to sleep in the bed, I'll just put these papers away”
November whipped out his wand and conveniently whisked the pages off the bed and into various drawers and cupboards. It wasn't long before the comfortable looking bed was in useable shape again.
“Make your self at home...oh but I recommend you not to eat anything you see lying around here, I mean look what happened to gawk, his part stick now” November added with a small laugh.
Once the young mage was satisfied with his work, he took off his white traveling cloak and packed it way neatly into a wardrobe. He felt a lot cooler with out the baggy cloak and was pleased that his tailored black pants and white buttoned up shirt hadn't creased to much with all that had happened so far.
November suddenly remember the bag of ingredients he had need to buy, he had gotten most of the ingredients with help from Lex, but he was still in quite and epidemic.
He sat down on a chair and face Lex as he began to neatly pack out and inspect the Kahjiit merchandise with a keen eye.
He gazed at the bottles and sachets with slight annoyance,“Darn it, I really can't go to the king with just this...If only the magic weren't incomplete” he stammered thoughtfully as he tried to come up with a solution.
He turned his sliver gaze to Lex, “I suppose you wouldn't know where I could get fireworms or Bilterweed?”

“Um, good question..." November mused in response to Lex's question, "I think I usually just fall asleep by my desk. Don't worry though, you're more than welcome to sleep in the bed, I'll just put these papers away.”
"Cheers, mate." Lex answered, flashing a grateful smile. He watched admiringly as November cleared the bed with a whisk of his wand, and shook his head in disbelief. "It'd be bloody useful if I could do that..." He muttered, uttering an amused chortle under his breath.

He made himself at home as November said, sitting down on the bed - then unbuckling his weapon belt, shrugging off his rucksack and kicking off his shoes. Considerably more comfortable now, he flopped back in the bed, folding his arms behind his head, and watched with vague interest as November looked through Garless's ingredients with increasing worry.
“Darn it," He muttered at last, "I really can't go to the king with just this... If only the magic weren't incomplete.”
Lex just smiled sympathetically in response, and then November turned to him and added, “I suppose you wouldn't know where I could get fireworms or Bilterweed?”
November didn't sound too hopeful, but as it were, Lex's face lit up in response.
"As a matter of fact," He answered cheerfully, "I do."
He sat up, and rummaged around in his bag for a moment before pulling out a crumpled, rolled up piece of paper bound with a leather tie.
Plucking open the tie, Lex unrolled the paper to reveal an elegant, old-style map of Skyrim. He pushed it in front of November, and beckoned to him to look.
"We're here." He said, pointing, "Falador." Then he moved his finger to another section of the map, and tapped it smartly, "You can find live Fireworms in the marshlands outside Riften. And the Bilterweed..." Lex's expression shifted into a cruel grin as he tapped another spot on the map, marked with a skull, "Bilterweed only grows on the outskirts of Talking Stone Camp." He looked up at November, and met his gaze with a wry smile, "The Giants' camp."
There was a moment of dramatic silence, then Lex chuckled, and quickly rolled up his map again.
"Looks like you've got quite an adventure on your hands, Mate." He laughed, "I don't envy you, I'll tell you that. Those giants ain't friendly."
He drew a finger across his throat to demonstrate, then turned to shove his map back into his bag, seeming vaguely pleased about something.
At last, I have a plan...

"As a matter of fact, I do.", Lex added cheerfully causing November to gawk in slight surprise.
“Wait... really?, That's great”, November stated with clear relief as Lex began to rummage through his satchel in search of something. The young mage stepped closer to observe what Lex had retrieved and was curious to see a folded up scroll in the man's hang.
Once The white-haired boy had unraveled the scroll November gazed intelligently at the piece of parchment, adjusting his glasses carefully as he took in the markings and drawn out landscapes. It was an old elegant map of Skyrim and his silver eyes followed Lex's finger as the strange man began to explain the locations of where he could get the ingredients he so desperately needed.
Much to November's horror, Lex's directions also came with far too many threats and risks for his comfort. The young mage's eyes widened in utter terror as Lex drew a finger across his throat.
“Giants?!...Oh Good Lord, how in the world am I going to get passed them”, November added suddenly going pale as he mulled over the known ways in which Giants enjoyed cooking and shredding apart their food.
Novmber dropped down back in his chair suddenly looking defeated and stressed. He didn't belong in the world outside the guild... inside was his sanctuary. He could barely look after himself for an hour in town, let alone weeks of traveling in the wild.

Traveling...
The young mage mulled thoughtfully, as he turned over a solution inside his complex mind.
He then gazed at Lex with a look out desperation, “Lex your a traveler? And you are trained to fight right?”
November didn't need a reply, he already knew the answers, but he need to say it aloud to help him figure out his slowly formulating plan.
November breathed in deeply before gaining some courage and standing up, “I guess I don't have any other choice do I?” he added sullenly before pointing confidently towards Lex, “I'm going to need to harvest the ingredients by hand ...will you come with me?”
November padded around his room quickly as he began flipping through a few books and taking down notes. “Of course I'll make it worth you while, It is a king's request after all”, he added over his shoulder.

“Lex you're a traveler? And you are trained to fight right?” November mused questioningly, and Lex smiled as the mage began to catch on, going perfectly along with his plan. “I guess I don't have any other choice do I? I'm going to need to harvest the ingredients by hand..." November turned toward him, pointing a finger in his direction as he asked, "Will you come with me? Of course I'll make it worth you while, It is a king's request after all.”
Lex pretended to mull it over for a moment, then stood up and walked over to November's side.
"I don't know." He answered, unconcernedly taking the mage's quill from his desk when he set it down for a moment, and slipping it into his pocket, "I'm not a bodyguard, you know. And picking a fight with a giant isn't exactly on my to-do list. Why don't you go visit the warriors' guild in the next town?"
He tilted his head as he watched November, letting him stew for a moment, then smiled and added, "Ah, whatever. I've got nothing better to do - why not hack off some poor giant's toe?"
Flashing a confident grin, Lex held out a rough palm to November, and promised boldly, "I'll keep you safe, mate. You've got my word. And I never go back on my word." He struggled not to laugh at the irony of his statement.

November pretended to keep his eyes in his book as Lex approached him. His nerves were pretty unstable, but he tried to act as confident as possible about his seeming suicidal mission.
"I don't know.", Lex began, clearing thinking over the young mage's offer,"I'm not a bodyguard, you know. And picking a fight with a giant isn't exactly on my to-do list. Why don't you go visit the warriors' guild in the next town?"
November felt a cold stab of worry pierce his belly. He tried not to show concern, but couldn't stop his intelligent expression from faltering as he snapped close the book he was pretending to read with unnecessary force. ”I-I see...” he stammered with slight defeat as he watched Lex's expression slowly mold into a handsome smile. The young mage raised his eyebrows hopefully as Lex began to speak, "Ah, whatever. I've got nothing better to do - why not hack off some poor giant's toe?"
November felt a wave of relief sweep over him as he took hold of Lex's outstretched hand, shaking it gratefully with more enthusiasm than what he thought possible.
“That's Great!, That's fantastic!. Ah I'm so Glad” he added with cheerful wide-eyes as he gazed up at Lex's bold expression.
"I'll keep you safe, mate. You've got my word. And I never go back on my word.", the man added with a confident grin.
“Thank you”, November added with extreme gratitude, “You have no Idea how much I appreciate this...I would never survive out there on my own” he added jumpily as he stole a quick glace towards his window, gazing briefly at the world outside before laughing nervously. “Looks safe, doesn't it?”
He tone was cleary unconvinced, but at least November felt a bit better now that he knew that he wouldn't be alone on this crazy journey through Skyrim.
At least the chances of me surviving are up to 28% , He thought anxiously as he released the traveler's hand before padding hastily towards a chest in the corner of the room. Unlocking the box with his wand as he rummaged through it's contents for some traveling equipment, stuffing the chosen items into an empty satchel.
A few moments later he darted back to wear Lex stood, a journal and his satchel clutched securely in his hands, “All the ingredients we need are written down in here” he stated seriously as he pointed to the book, offering it out to Lex.
November then looked towards his bedroom door with slight dread, “...I'll need to get my guild master's permission before I can just leave... the elders get angry when I leave the building, Erg I'm gonna be in so much trouble when they hear about the Kahjiit incident” November mulled agitatedly, his silver eyes slightly stressed beneath his thin glasses.
“Oh well, guess there no avoiding it”, he added with concern.
He knew very well why he wasn't allowed outside the town, he belonged to the king afterall. He was pure 100% government property.

Lex grinned at November's enthusiasm, and brushed off his thanks with a modest shrug, even though the expression on his face clearly showed that he was very, very pleased. He liked being appreciated, it actually made a nice change. Pity, really that he would have to deliver this poor bloke to the Rebel King. He was okay, really... But a job was a job, after all.
Shrugging off his thoughts, Lex followed November to look over his list of ingredients, and nodded thoughtfully.
"Quite a list," He mused, tapping an item on it reading 'Crimson Ninroot', "Some of this is gonna be difficult to find."
He was still poring over the list when November began babbling about having to leave soon, and the issues he might have with the elders. He sounded pretty stressed.
Putting down the journal, Lex looked up at him curiously, considering the young mage's nervous yet determined face as he added, “Oh well, guess there's no avoiding it.”
Lex considered this a moment, tilting his head to one side, then stood up.
"I'll help." He offered, shrugging, and frankly even surprising himself with the offer. After all, helping November with this wasn't going to help him any... He cleared his throat, and went on, "I think you'll find I can be quite convincing, if I put my mind to it. Besides, I saw how those Kahjiit behaved. I can vouch for you."
He smiled encouragingly, and gave November a somewhat patronizing pat on the head.
"Go on, then." He said, obviously not intending to take 'no' for an answer, "Show me where to go."
