"Alright EVERYONE UP!" I called as i slid down the railing along the stairs leading to the second floor. "Jake jesus christ! Not all of us are excited for school to start!" I heard Andy hiss from her room that i was closest to, the rooms went down the hall. The two girls on one side of the hall their doors spaced about ten feet apart with the two boys at the same distance across the three foot wide hallway. Each had their own bathroom, so no fights anymore. "Oh come on Andy," I said and she swung the door open and a rush of her perfume came out as i met her make up plastered face with mine, a pursed lipped, cold stare on her face and a smug grin on mine. "Have a little excitement will ya?" I added with a smile as she huffed and pushed past me all ready for school but like all of us she was gonna eat first. The next two to come out was Jazz and Chase both talking among themselves already and they both passed me, The one that didnt come out was Levi. I knew he was a heavy sleeper, i walked into his room that was across from Andy's and stood at the foot of his bed ."Come on kiddo, time to get up" I told him and tapped the bottom of his foot. He was the youngest of our group. He had lost his mom and dad in a car accident. He latched onto me and i became his big brother Jazz was his sister basically. I knew i couldnt wake him up with a spark on his foot, he's immune to it of course with his fire abilities. But i knew that a rush of cold september air would wake him right up. I grabbed the bottom of his blanket and yanked it off his bed and he curled up as the cold air hit him. "Come on Jake! Cant i skip today?" He grumbled and sat up tiredly. "Nu uh, Get your ass up" I chuckled and sat down next to him on his bed, "Why dont you wanna go today?" I asked him. "Its the first day a clean slate" I added encouragingly. "Jake, You remembered what happened all last year. All they did was make fun of me" He said, "I hate going there." I sighed and rubbed his back, "Get dressed, they wont bug you while im around alright? You just show them they cant win" I said gently and stood up again. "I'll see you downstairs" I said before letting him get dressed alone

After we had gotten breakfast ready and on the table Levi came out dragging his feet, obviously dreading his first day. Jazz and I felt bad, as a matter of fact we all did, but we showed him a truthful smile as he came in. "How many pancakes do you want Lev?" I called from the kitchen. "can i have three?" He asked in a meek tone and slipped into his seat next to Jazz and she gave him a warm smile from behind her dark maroon lips. "Three pancakes comin up" I said and started making his plate up and brought his and mine out and we all began to eat.

After we were done we all threw our plates in the sink and headed out to the garage. I unlocked the truck and opened the garage door as everyone got in. After i got in on the driver side I turned the engine over and the heat blasted through the vents. i heard Andy groan and she pointed the vent away from her. I put it in gear and backed out, the fall colors looking even more vibrant in the rising sun. Then as i closed it, we pulled away and headed to school

When we pulled up i saw Aby, well Jazz was the first to spot her and she jumped out and followed by the rest. Levi stuck to my side sort of. He spotted Mark, the one who gave him problems all the time, the Football captain. He looked at me to see if i noticed Mark. "I got him Levi i got him, just stay on the other side of me and dont look at him" I said quietly and moved so i was standing between him and Mark.

I saw Mark and Jules look over at Levi, for some reason he was their target. I didnt know why, i thought it was just because he was younger. "Jake," he said and he was on edge now. "Come on guys lets go in!" I called to them and turned and walked LEvi into the safety of the school away from Jules and Mark.

As we walked i felt the light tap on my shoulder and turned to look over my shoulder. I studied the girl for a moment, wondering if i knew her. Then it hit me. "Aby? My god is that you?" I asked with a big smile and Jazz turned around as i said her name. "Wait...Aby?" She beamed and came up next to me.

Jazz and I hugged her back tightly and my behemoth arms wrapped around the both of them. "Where the hell have you been? And why havent you called me!?" Jazz hissed playfully and gently smacked her shoulder which pretty much missed. "God, its been forever. Aby, i gotta say you look great" I complemented

"yeah I have a little" I chuckled and looked at Jazz as she had a big smile still. "Well, i guess your brother is a doofus, if we knew that, I would have sicked him on whats his name. I cant even remember" she smiled and motioned towards me. "Im just so glad you're back here again!" She squealed

"Totally" She said and began to walk away when i didnt follow. "We have practice after school, we'll all be there. If you want you can stay and watch. Im their ride home so they dont have a choice" I chuckled and nodded my head back to the group

"Hmm well it starts right after school ends so two thirty to four" I said with a smile. "Oh and before i get to class--" The bell rang. "If you have any trouble with anyone in here. Give us a holler," I said with a smile and headed off to class
