I was up fairly late that night. Not because i couldnt sleep, more like i was being forced to stay awake. Constant arguing at home really hit me where it hurts. Literally half the time. But it was just constant back and forth with my Step dad. At some point we had to take it outside. I was worried of waking my birth mother, the Kindest most caring soul put on this soil, and my little brother Nathan who would nag the living hell out of me but i loved him all the same. My step father was a different story, he would always come home drunk and just inordinately pissed at the world. And he would always take it out on mom...Well not anymore. I took a stand and now i have become his punching bag basically. But even with that i stood firm. I wasnt going to let him take advantage of anyone in this house that i had built with my own two hands. And i wasnt about to let him chase me from it either. But then 4am rolled around and he finally got tired of it and he took off to bed. In a seperate room from my mother of course. That was one deal we made. I marched back up to the third floor up to the loft that was my room and tried to get a few hours of sleep in before work came around.
As i slept somewhat peacefully in the bed up in my loft of the 3 story house that i call home the alarm began screaming in my ear...that gosh darn thing never learns its lesson. remaining with my back to it my hand swung around and fumbled for the off switch and when i found it i lazily switched it off and brought myself up and sat in the bed rubbing my deep set amber eyes awake.
I swung my athletic legs over the side of the bed and stood up and stretched as my spine cracked from its once permanent 3 hour state. running a hand through my hair that was messy i walked to the bathroom just inside my room to get cleaned up. After taking a well deserved shower i stepped out with a towel around my waist only to get a face full of powder from my pesky little 10 year old brother.
"Nathan!" I snapped as my voice was drowned out by his screams of laughter as he ran downstairs. after cleaning that off i got dressed.
I headed downstairs with a loud yawn and my mom was already making breakfast.
"Where is dad?" I asked my stomach churning at 'dad'
"Asleep still.You two had quite the argument last night" She sighed
"Yeah,"I said down to my food. secretly rolling my eyes.
"Jake sweetie you've got to just let it be when he comes home...i can take it from him." She said rubbing my back as she walked by.
"No mom, you cant and you wont. He shouldnt even be treating anyone like this let alone you. I am the man here, not him." I said taking a quick glance up at her then the clock.
"Just be careful, your fights are scaring me now." She said softly.
"Stay away from him then when or if he wakes up..or at least until i come back.Im gonna be late for work i will see you when i get home" I said as she remained silent and i began heading out to the garage to head to school in my jet black Chevy Avalanche.
I started it up creating orbs of light on the garage wall that shrunk as i pulled out and off to school. I turned onto the black asphalt and I rounded the corner as the orange morning sun seeped through the black tinted windows and my once amber eyes now glowed a golden brown. but my skin remained dark in shadow, a dark russet color. The only thing separating me from the black road was the orange reflection of the sun on the truck's frame that seemed to glide over the asphalt. The sound of the gravel beneath the tires that loosened from the road from years of driving and traffic shifted under the tires. Where i worked it was just the town's Walmart. Doing what else? But lugging carts back to the store. I hated it but at least i got money from it

Alina woke up as soon as her alarm when up. She laid in her bed "Not... Happening." She mutter to herself, hoping it was just a dream. She was still exhausted from staying up the night before. She threw somewhat of a party since her mother was out of town, which was nice. Sometimes she can't stand to around her mother. She sighed and drag herself out of her bed and to her bathroom. She jumped out sluggishly and walked to her closet. She grabbed her black t shirt with see-through peace signs, a teal tank top and a pair of dark blue denims. She slid into her clothes and ran down stairs. She slipped on her black and white flats and walked outside before her mother made her come and eat. She walked to her car, her stuff still into. She started up and left for the school. Alina pulled into the parking lot of the school. She didn't see very many people. 'Oh dang. I'm early again. I could've been sleeping in.' She to herself. She sighed, stepping out of her car. She grabbed her stuff and sat on top of the hood of her car. She started to listen to the music on her iPhone.

I drove down the soggy road from the dew and the few rain showers and the orange red light from the sun bounced off the droplets before disappearing under the truck. My radio blared https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT3zCj3F1d4 my head slightly bobbed with the beat and i occasionally mouthed a few lyrics.
Levi was already at school waiting for my arrival. him and i were the best of friends total goons when together. We were the school Clowns no matter where we were. But the one thing that Every one that was female loved was our looks. Of course. But Girls flocked to Levi and he welcomed it as always. But me? Im custom made, for who only I knew. Yeah i talked to everyone that wasnt part of any clique. I avoided them at all costs no matter how pretty they were. I give them a taste of where their attitudes get them. If they attempt to impress me i would just give them an incredulous look and laugh at their attempts because it was usually after they put someone down. I still waited for The One to cross my path. Yeah i had girlfriends in the past that were part of the cliques which is now why i choose to avoid them. I was a tool to them.
I pulled up into the school lot and parked next to Levi. before the tuck even came to a complete stop he was already at my window looking for some horsin' around.

Alina sat in the hood of her car, listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7k0a5hYnSI. It explained her out in out. She was nothing that people thought. She's very unpredictable. She sung the song lightly loud enough for her to hear past her headphones. She leaned against the windshield. She knew that everyone never can expect we she's going to do, like she was pretty much friends with everyone, except the preps of the school. They all bawl babies. Rich people who think their better than only else. They all think they need to be Barbie dolls, pretty clones that need to be the same all the time. She sighed as she now hummed the song.

"Levi will you let me out of my car first?" I asked laughing as i opened the door and he hung on for dear life dangling from the truck's window as i cut the engine.
"Jake did you do Daskey's homework? I swear he never taught us about that stuff." He said landing on the ground on his feet.
"Dude...We went over that whole chapter every day for the last 3 days...you just dont pay attention" I told him. "And come on even i know that and i sleep!"

Alina closed as her music switched over to some Three Days Grace, one of her more favorite bands. She closed her eyes, almost falling asleep.

Seeing we still had some time before going in i turned the radio on and went into the tailgait and began talking with Levi and Bill as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHqo2FDJSU0 played from the back window opened slightly

Alina jarred awake when the bell rang. 'Oh yay...' She though sarcastically. She got up, turned off her music, and walked to the school's doors kind of slowish.

I turned the battery off and jumped from the bed of the truck but Levi of course jumped on my back and demanded a ride into school to avoid the puddles dirtying his new white shoes. What ever made him wear them after a storm was beyond me. Even then i tried to shake him off but he kicked my sides in return. "To my locker you mule!"

Alina could hear some people laugh about something. She turned and saw the usual clowns of the school messing around. She laughed at them about mule thing.

With one jerk of my back he was off and on the ground. "Im a Stud an you know it!" I mused and walked over him dragging my one foot as i stepped over making him flip over. "At least i wasnt wearing my cleats" I mused

Everyone else began to laugh harder the two. One of the teachers ran out. "Come on. Inside!" he said. Alina rolled her eyes at the teacher, but laughed at the act that they did.

Then the other teacher grabbed us by the ear and twisted. We both squealed in pain and laughter but it was cut off again by antoher twist but the laughter still was there. "Mrs. Atkinson let go!" Levi cried laughing. We were close to being brought to our knees.
"Mr. Soccer captain goofing off already and its not even my class" She mused pulling me up only for me to stumble

Alina went to her locker and put her stuff in there. She sighed and ran up to art, her best class.

"How many times do i have to tell you boys?" She asked, "Get to class and dont be late for mine again alright?" She said releasing us at our lockers.

After she left my ear got hot but a tint of red was barely visible on my russet skin. "Damn i hate it when she does that," I smiled.
I got the books from my locker and headed up to the art room

Alina grabbed the clay she's been work with. She was ahead of everyone else. She began to work the clay. "Damn." She muttered under her breath. She took the clay to the back room and looked for some soft clay.

I walked in..well more like snuck in. The others were working with clay..I on the other hand was more of a drawer, or a painter. Surprisingly i was pretty good at it. I got pretty decent grades as far as my art work went

Alina finished with her clay and pushed it off to the side. She walked into the back again to wash her hand. She came, seeing that the teach took it, knowing she was down. One of the guys next her smiled at her and said "That was pretty good." She didn't even look at him as she grabbed her sketch pad. "It's not done yet." She began to sketch, her pencil barely touching the paper. The guy watched her for a little bit to the teacher pointed to his work.

One of my other newly made friends was in that class with me. We treated each other like we played in the mud puddles when we were six. "Dude if you flick that paint over here, i will picasso your face" I teased
