Emily tried to get up but groaned in pain, she may have twisted her ankle. As she looked up though she saw a man in a suit standing over her. "Don't try to run away halfbreed," the man snarled. She screamed again and tried to stand, stumbling away from the man

dropping my bag on the ground spotting the guy over the girl i met earlier i put him in a choke hold making him back off. Then i spun him around to face me as my lip pulled over my teeth revealing my canines that began to grow in my jaw

The man was surprised. "Huh another halfbreed," he frowned. He pulled out a taser and aimed it at Jay, but Emily saw it and, shifting into a snake, slithered to the man's ankle and bit him deeply.

I grabbed the taser in my now new paw and the little device began to crack before it shattered and i threw it to the ground. "And you are a pure bred?" I growled

The man broke free from Jay's grasp and ran away and over the school fence, leaving the taser with Jay.

Emily transformed back into a girl. "Be careful with that!" she said, she got up to stop Jay from using it but tripped over her ankle and fell to the ground again.

I simply tossed it in the bin before phasing back to normal and caught her before she fell. "Please, I live for danger" I mused

Emily thought she was going to hit the ground but found herself in his arms, she began blushing furiously much to her annoyance. "Not THAT kind of danger," she said "it stops you from using your powers for a whole day." She shuddered, remembering the time she got tasered, and she looked at her pained ankle "We shouldn't be out here," she groaned, clinging on to Jay for support.

"I know that's happened to me but i manage. Come on i'll take ya to the nurse or something" I said

"That's okay I can manage," Emily said, and tried to walk on her own, but she ended up tripping against Jay's chest. "Then again maybe not," she laughed bitterly.

I smiled and shook my head in amusement. "Yeah maybe not" I said and put her arm over my shoulder and gently scooping her up in my arms. Then i headed back for the building my cleats clicking on the asphalt

Emily gave a little squeal as Jay carried her, her face was totally red now she buried her face in his neck to hide it, but then she found he smelled really good. "You don't need to carry me you know I walk fine on one leg," she laughed, then murmured, "I don't even know your name and you're carrying me around."

"Jake" I smiled down at her, "I just dont want you to cause any more damage" I felt my skin cool instantly as she dug her face into my neck eventhough it was burning hot.

"Then thank you, Jake," Emily said. "I'm Emily." She sighed, her spirits falling. "I'm afraid the damage is already done though" she said thinking about the man at the field.

"oh? and hows that?" i asked with a smile. she was growing on me thats for sure...but it wasnt your normal friendship warm up. you know how you fall in love?well i was slipping and losing my grip.

"That man...he's after, well, people like us," Emily said. "A whole group of them want to capture people like us for experiments." She sighed and rested a bit more against him, hoping he wouldn't have to carry her too far to the nurse, but then she enjoyed it somehow in his arms, no one ever treated her this nicely before.

"that explains alot. well he is gonna have to get through me then right?" i mused with a smile

Emily looked frightened. "M-maybe you should just leave me with the nurse, I don't want you to be in danger too," she said, clutching at Jake's shirt.

"Did you not hear a single thing i said?" I laughed, "I live for danger. I'll be fine" I said as we came to the nurse door. I set her down gently on her good foot

Emily wanted to protest but they were at the nurse's office. The nurse had her sit down on a bed. "I think I'll be fine now," she said, "you should go." Suddenly Emily put her arms around Jake's neck and gave him a quick hug. She pulled away quickly blushing she didn't know what made her do that.

"I can stay if you need me to" I smiled keeping an arm around her with a smile

Emily shivered at his touch, she never had a guy so close to her before. She shook her head. "No its alright, the nurse will take care of me." She looked up at him and smiled a genuine smile. "I'd hate to make you miss class."

"Imma jock, my grades are good enough to miss one day. Besides i was gonna ditch soon anyway" I said quietly with a smirk

Emily didn't know what he meant by 'gonna ditch', she wasnt able to ask because the nurse came to bandage her foot. She was bandaged quickly then she stood up on it,she could lean on it only a little because it still hurt. "That wasn't so bad," she said. She began limping towards the door.
