My character:

Jerry Taylor, or JT.

A sensitive face with deep, soulful hazel eyes. He has average length hair, usually slightly spiked with gel. He is tall and toned, and a generally good looking fellow with a charming smile.

Yeah, I can’t be bothered to really explain it properly, so just picture a random… What is this word they use… A random ‘hottie’ in your head. Wink Haha! (Oh, the horror... Polo used 'The word') *dies* As if I could really understand... Wink

Urrrm… Yeah, that’ll do for now. Rolling Eyes

((Nice and shortish... And they will most likely get much shorter. Razz *dies of shame*))

The cold air entered his lungs in icy blasts as JT raced down the dark street. He stumbled on every other step, as his legs were unaccustomed to such freedom. Every now and then, he turned his head to glance back over his shoulder with a nervous expression, as though afraid something was pursuing him. Which, indeed, it was. Flashing lights pierced the darkness, and in the distance JT could hear shouts and sirens. Overhead, a helicopter roved with chopping blades – its searchlight throwing a fatal circle of brightness onto the cold asphalt near his feet.
Releasing a gasp of panic, JT leaped to the side, pressing his back against the rough brick wall beside him. When the light moved away, he slunk into the alleyway beside the wall, and hid himself in the shadows. It was dark and peaceful here, with only his own ragged breathing to punctuate the silence. His flight had unpleasantly reminded him of just how unfit he was… But he had needed to get away. None of them understood! They had tried to keep him there, in that asylum, but they just didn’t get it… He wasn’t crazy. He knew he wasn’t crazy…

The cool calm, yet icy air surrounded the figures shoulders, who momentarily gave a short shudder, and shook her body, in attempt to circulate the mere amount of heat that her stylish, yet silly imitation of a jacket.
Continuing on through the streets, sirens pierced the silence in the distance, making her look up, almost worried they were chasing her, yet sighed in relief when she realized she was being silly.

The beats from the party still chanted in her mind, and she shuddered at the near memory of it all.
The alcohol, the boys, the drugs, she shook her head in disbelief.
What had she become?
Since childhood has zoomed around the corner and into the distance, she'd changed, like the table of growth since the BC days, but even more of development had bloomed here.
From school girl, simple, well behaved, blonde haired plaits, with checkered school dress, to High school girl, complicated, annoying, black hair, darker brown eyes, and stylish outfits.
It wasn't a mid life crisis, not even a stage in life.. she was just tired of her past and wanted to start new, but this time she'd gone too far, parties were fine.. even gatherings, alcohol too, since noone could stop her drinking, but drugs? That was unneccessary.
She dug her hands deeper into her jacket pockets, curling them into fists, as the Sirens neared.

Suddenly, JT heard footsteps approaching, and panic rocketed through him. What could he do? He couldn't afford to be caught... Not yet... Not now. He shook his head rapidly, and burst into a sprint again, whipping around the corner to pelt hell-for-leather down the street. He had not taken more than a few steps, when suddenly the vague figure of a girl entered his sight, and JT skidded to a stop just in time to avoid hitting her. However, the momentum of his sprint caused him to lose his balance, and he stumbled forward, grabbing the girl's shoulders to keep himself from falling right into her. "S-sorry." He gasped, taking one staggering step backwards. "Do- Do you know the way... To the hospital?" He asked between panted gasps of air, his deep hazel eyes searching her face rapidly as he waited impatiently for her reply. Tension gradually crept through his muscles as the sound of the sirens grew gradually nearer, and JT knew that he would have to hurry if he was to make it to the hospital before he was recaptured... But he had to! He just had to...

Hayden rounded the corner towards her home for the night, 5th Avenue hotel, Room 27, when suddenly a figure raced towards her, and attempted to halt before her, but failed miserably and fell forward, clutching her shoulders as he went down.
Uttering a scream, she stumbled, trying to gain balance and stood up, shifting her shoulders slightly.

She heard the.. boy.. man.. apologise profusely, but despite the sorrow in his voice, was also a tinge of worry creeping forward, ready to take over.
"Hospital, where is the hospital?" he gasped, his eyes wide, staring pleadingly into her eyes.
"Um" she began, and blushed as he stamped his foot, looking more and more horrified.
"Why don't I.. hail a cab and I take you there?" she offered, trying her best to provide a caring, kind and trustworthy face, despite the fact she was slightly drunk.

She held her hand out, ready to hail, glancing back at the worried man to see his response.

"Thank you." JT breathed, instant relief crashing over him and effectively releasing the build up of tension. "Why couldn't I think of that?" He added with a laugh, raking his fingers through his stiff hair. "Gosh, I'm really sorry for running into you like that." He said suddenly, frowning in slight concern and brushing a speck of dust from her shoulder. "I was in such a hurry I wasn't really..." He trailed off, glancing over his shoulder and staring into the distance. The sirens seemed to be getting further away now. Unless it was just wishful thinking. "...Looking where I was going." He finished thoughtfully, turning back to the girl with a vague smile just as the taxi arrived. "Thanks." He said with a smile, quickly walking over to the driver and telling him of his destination. The driver replied with the price, and JT quickly checked his pockets - only to find them empty. Damn...

Realising the man had no pockets, she felt around in her own, until coming across a twenty in her bra.
Pulling it out quickly, she handed it to him, and hopped into the cab herself.
"Do you mind if make sure you get there safely?" she eyed him up and down worriedly, giving him an elevator once over.
Once the car began, she began to feel the negatives of the situation she was now in.
This man was clearly.. a bit older than her, and.. by this stage he seemed semi nut case.. what with the sirens and all.. the sirens!
What was he running away from so quickly..?

"Do you know what the sirens were for?" she questioned gently, trying not to pick too big a bone with this already worked up boy.
She fiddled with the frayed edges on her bag, twiddling them between her fingers before pulling out her phone, pretending to text.

JT took the twenty that the girl offered with a brief smile and a muttered word of thanks, then he handed it to the driver and climbed into the cab beside her. "I don't mind." He replied in response to her offer to accompany him, wondering vaguely why she should choose to do such a thing. Did he look that helpless? He wasn't crazy...
JT shook his head, discarding the unwelcome thoughts. He knew he was sane!
Finally, the car started, and JT relaxed in the knowledge that he would soon reach his destination. Nothing would matter then... He just had to get to that hospital. He had to see Jane, and nothing was going to stop him. His hands fisted in determination, and JT felt a renewed burst of energy flow through him - willing him not to fail. Not again...
The girl's question broke through his thoughts then, and JT glanced over at her - panic darting through him for a moment at the question. However, he reminded himself to remain calm, and responded with an effortless lie. "No idea." He paused a moment, then decided to make some light conversation, just to deflect any awkwardness if nothing else. "They make rather a racket, don't they?" He commented, his deep eyes distractedly following her fingers as they tapped against the keys of her phone - not quite pressing them down. That was strange... Why would she pretend to type?

Annabelle[i] nodded slightly and looked up from her phone, realizing how silly she looked pretending to type.
"Yes.. they do, and they send shudders down my spines!" She shuddered for effect and uttered a smile.
She looked up and drummed her fingers against her knee, desperate to come up with more conversation.

"Are you hurt?" she suddenly remembered where they were headed to, - "I mean, why do you need to go to the hospital, if you're okay with me asking.." she smiled again, to assure him it was okay to trust her.

JT chuckled politely as they girl gave an exaggerated shudder, then he turned his attention back to the window - watching the scenery flash by as night slowly crept toward dawn. A faint drumming reached his ears, and JT looked back to the girl to find the source, just in time to hear her question. "Are you hurt?" He listened as she went on for a moment, then shook his head with a slight smile. "No, I'm going to visit somebody." He replied simply - thinking vaguely just how little that simple explanation suited what he really planned to do. It was not a lie... Not exactly... He would visit her, but that was not all. JT began drumming his own fingers now, letting them tap restlessly on the door handle. "So... What were you doing out so late?" He asked suddenly, keen to turn the conversation away from himself. He wasn't doing anything wrong... He knew he wasn't... But then why did they keep taking him back? Why should he have to stay in that asylum?! It was crazy - there was nothing wrong with him... It was cruel. He wasn't going back... He'd never go back.

Hayden smiled as she heard his reply, before turning it into a frown.
Just visiting someone?
Then why was he frantically glancing out the window, or cocking his head slightly to the sound of sirens, or jiggling his knee up and down quite frequently.
She shook her head slowly and looked out the window, before hearing him quietly ask her What she was doing out so late.
She looked him in the eyes, "Oh me?" her voice piped up, breaking the silence of the heated Cab.
Surprised at the sound of her voice, she swallowed and began again.
"I was at a party" she smiled wanly, "but I didn't like it so i was on my way home" she nodded, a white lie was okay to a complete stranger right?
She wasn't going home, and she wasn't leaving the party because she didn't like it, yet it seemed comforting to know that the night, in normal circumstances could have turned out that way.
She sighed and looked out the window again, not bothering to listen to his reply.

Blake nodded in acceptance, noting a very slight tension in her tone, but thinking nothing of it. Parties... He hadn't been to one of those in years. He just hadn't been able to face the prospect of going alone.
Blake dropped his gaze to his hands, twirling his interlocked fingers - tangling and disentangling them again and again, mostly to keep himself distracted so he did not think too much and get too impatient because of it. He just really wanted to get to the hospital... Soon! He had waited so long, he just cold not wait any longer...
Blake let his hands fall still into his lap and took to gazing out of the window instead, the tension in his shoulders gradually releasing as he watched the dark streets and bright streetlights sweep by in a blur.
Peaceful silence washed over him, and Blake was just beginning to feel calm when suddenly, a sound broke the silence.
His stomach rumbled loudly, complaining bitterly about the fact that he had not eaten much, if at all, for the past couple of days. He had been so intent upon reaching the hospital that he had completely forgotten to be hungry, but now that he remembered...
A slight flush crept into his faintly stubbled cheeks, and Blake turned his head further away from the girl, feeling rather embarrassed.

Hayden stared wildly confused at the mans stomach.
"Are you by any chance.. hungry?" she asked, a smile playing upon her lips.
She asked the cab driver to pull over at the at the nearest restaurant and he did so, in five metres time.
She hopped out of the cab shyly, and motioned for the guy to follow.
Was she seriously doing this?
Buying a weirdo, stranger, madman dinner?
She sighed, at least there was karma, one good deed a day keeps the angels at bay, is what her mother used to always say.
Her mother.
She coughed slightly at the man who was now looking everywhere, frantically yet still calm in a wierd sense.
"Um what would you like?" she offered, whilst placing her order down for the woman to take.
Once both orders were taken, she sat down in a small booth, not cosy, yet not largely space.
A little uncomfortable, Hayden began to regret wearing what she wore to the party, her tight, and extremely low thin sweater began to show off just a little bit more than she wanted.
Blushing profusely, she drank her coke silently, whilst pretending again to text, glancing up at the man every so often.

"A little." Blake admitted with an awkward chuckle - feeling extremely guilty about putting this poor, kind girl through such trouble, yet relieved all the same when she asked the cab driver to pull over. He really was starving...
At the girl's encouragement, Blake got out of the cab, thanked the driver politely, then followed the girl into the little restaurant. He entered it and glanced around, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings with interest. He hadn't been to this restaurant before... This made him wonder exactly what side of town he was on. He had no idea how fr he had run, since he had been in such a panic at the time... He hoped nobody would recognise him. He doubted they would... The asylum had kept pretty quiet about the fact that he was there. He was glad of it, too. It was bad enough being falsely accused of being mad, but to have everybody know about it, too? Blake shuddered slightly at the thought, then turned towards the woman who had come to take the order, and asked politely for his chosen meal with a faint smile lighting his handsome face. She stared at him for a moment, then quickly dropped her eyes to her notepad and began scribbling frantically, her ears slowly turning red. A short while later, the woman left, and Blake turned his attention to the girl sitting before him. She was texting again, apparently. He wondered if it was for real this time, or if it was just to have something to do with her hands... He hated that he was making her feel uncomfortable, but at the same time he wasn't sure what to do about it.
Blake glanced at her again, vaguely taking note of her show-offish clothing. Of course... She had been to a party earlier, and though the outfit was probably perfect in a party atmosphere, she was probably feeling rather uncomfortable about showing so much skin in the more formal restaurant situation.
Feeling a stab of sympathy, Blake quickly tugged off his hoodie. "Here." He said, tossing it to the girl with a kind smile. She ought to feel a little better now... Well, he hoped so.
Blake was feeling a slight chill now, but it did not bother him much. It was warm in the restaurant... Much warmer than it was outside, even though he wore nothing warmer than a plain T-shirt.
His arms were visible now: well toned and muscular, yet in handsome proportions. The arms of a sportsman. On his left arm, he had a tattoo just below his shoulder.
The soft yellow light gleamed off Blake's skin, complementing his complexion, and making his eyes glow golden when it struck them. Now that he was calm and warm, his face had lost its gaunt, haunted look and the ashen tinge had left his skin, leaving it in its usual slightly tanned hue.
Finally, the waitress arrived with the food. Blake thanked her kindly, causing her cheeks to instantly turn rosy. She set down the meals, then turned to walk away again.
Blake turned to the girl again. "Thanks very much for all this... Uh..." He trailed off awkwardly, suddenly realising that he did not even know her name.
