Rhys closed his eyes and breathed in deeply for a moment. "What you need is to go to sleep. Do you have any idea at all what might be doing this to you?" He wiped away the blood with his hand after she coughed, and wiped it on his already bloodstained shirt.

Ria nodded her head in response to the matter of resting. But, when he asked what might be possibly doing this she shook her head. "I honestly don't know..." she whispered, closing her eyes. Her body hunched over a little more. Yes, she had wanted death. But, all the same. She didn't really wnt it to be long and drawn out. She had wanted it to be relatively pain free. And... here was a hell of a lot of pain...

Rhys's face fell as he realized she didn't know what was going on. That sucked to say the least. If he had even the slightest clue, he'd be able to help. Or at least try to... He sighed and tried to figure it out. If she hadn't swallowed anything, then it was obviously coming from somewhere else. Her back, most likely. He thought back to Miranda and her pounding Ria's back. The girl's cries of pain. Maybe that was it. Tentatively, he moved forward and asked, "Can I feel around your back to see where the pain is coming from?"

Ria looked at him in shock. What on earth did he think gave him a right after it. But... if he was trying to help... "I gues..." she whispered, shifting slightly so her back was closer to him.

Rhys nodded slowly. "I'm not going to do anything. Miranda would castrate me if I did." He snorted and Miranda turned around, nodding, completely serious. There was no doubt in his eyes about that fact - and it was clear he didn't want that happening.
So he rubbed his hands together to warm them up and gently laid them on her back. He slowly moved them around, pressing gently, waiting for her to wince or cry out.

The closer he got to her ribs the more she winced. Until, finally, when he had his hands right around her lungs, mid-back where most of the scars were. She let out a scream and jerked away tears in her eyes. "Stop." she said, turning completely around and backing away from him.

"Okay," Rhys replied, eyes wide. He held his hands up and backed away as she jumped away from him. Why was she so frightened?
Well, Rhys, you raped her.
He snorted and waatched her carefully.

Ria coughed again, wincing once more and then allowing the tears to slid down her face from the pain. It wasn't leaving her this time. It just... it wouldn't leave her. Why wasn't it going away? This was all wrong...

"Just go to sleep, Ria." Rhys said with a sigh and approached her. He sat down next to the girl and watched her carefully, studying every shift in her composure. Gently, he reached out his thumb and wiped away a tear of hers.

Ria gently bobbed her head. "O-okay..." she whispered quietly, her body trembled as she lay down before him and wrapped her arms tightly around herself. "It. It just hurts..." she whispered and then closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep.

Rhys nodded, lips firm as he watched her settle down. When she closed her eyes, he assumed she'd fallen asleep since she was quiet. He turned around and glanced at Miranda, who was watching him carefull, a look of hurt and sadness on her face.
"You like her, don't?"
His face immediatly colored. Was it that obvious? He'd never wanted anyone - especially Miranda - to know. He didn't want their child growing up in the same environment he'd had to - fighting parents that spat hateful remarks at each other even in their children's presence. Silently, he nodded and watched as Miranda's face crumpled - in relief?
She smiled sadly at him. "I guess we both have our secrets." She nodded at Alex with her chin.

Ria heard the conversation and but didnt dare stir. He liked her? But, why? Why did he like her? It was a tad bit too much for her to take in.

Rhys chuckled. "I thought you two had something going on, with all the late night sneaking." He rolled his eyes and looked at Ria again tenderly. She was beautiful.
"So you're not mad?"
"Why would I be mad? I don't really think I have room to be mad even if I wanted to." He answered. "The only I'm worried about is Tatyana.
Miranda nodded in agreement. "At least we're friends, right?"

Ria stirred awake the more that she heardnthem talking. What was going on? She blinked once before glancing between Mirana and Rhys

Rhys chuckled. "At least we are." He reached out and squeezed her hand comfortingly. She smiled back at him and after a moment, walked over to Alex. Lovingly, she brushed his hair back - oblvious to Ria watching. Rhys saw, though, and said, "How long have you been awake?"

Ria shifted a little to a tad bit more comfortable position. "Never went to sleep." she whispered, pushing her hair back behind her ear. She saw Miranda and Alex and she felt her heart drop, closing her eyes again. No. She didn't see that. She just... she didn't.

Rhys immediatly colored, and Miranda stiffened. He swore quietly and let a crooked smile settle on his lips. "Ah. Don't pay attention to our nighttime ramblings." He sighed and Miranda moved away from the sleeping boy and over to Ria.
"Do you want some water?"

Ria shook her head. "No... I'm good." she said, pausing a little and coughing again as her throat began to hurt. "I will - pay attention that is - when it has to do with me..." she said watching him carefully.

Rhys rolled his eyes. "Really - don't mind what we said. It was just some joking around." His blue eyes pierced hers for a moment, watching her deeply as he tried to convince her of this lie. He didn't want her to realize that Miranda and Alex's relationship was a lot more than what it seemed.

Ria bit her lip. "Nope. I'm listening. And I'm believing, Rhys." she said, closing her eyes and shaking her head slightly. So much for Alex. She should just stop caring now. Stop caring and get rid of herself the minute everyone else left this tent. Yes. That sounded perfect.

Rhys knelt down beside her and took her arms in his hands gently. He tilted her chin up so that she'd have to meet his gaze. "Okay, so you believe it. Then you should be able to trust me, right?" His eyes bore into hers painstakingly. He saw death in them. Everywhere. There was no way he was leaving her. Ever.

Ria shook her head quietly, trying to move away from him, though she couldn't. "Believing a few words out of your mouth, and trusting you are two different things, Rhys." she said quietly, keeping her gaze away from his eyes, even though he was keeping her head up, so that he could attempt to look at her directly. "Alex is the only one I trust, and apparently, I shouldn't be doing that either." she said, a bit of venom sliding into her voice as she glared at him. "I have absolutely no reason to trust you, or anyone for that matter, anymore. And since I can't do anything without something happening to me. I should just get it over with and out of the way."

Rhys chuckled. "Why shouldn't you trust him? He's never done anything to intentionally hurt you. In fact, he tried to avoid that!" He sighed and looked away, backing up a little. "Besides, I'm not going to leave you alone. You're going to hurt yourself and we all know it. So, you can forget about ever being alone."

Ria looked at him. "What do you mean?" she whispered, cocking her eyebrow at him, pulling her knees back up to her chest and watching him cautiously.
