He gave a soft chuckle that was more like a huff of breath. Looking down at her he gave her a gentle squeeze with his arm around her. He then sighed and laid his head back. Wishing he could tell her. But he didnt know how to.

I smiled at him once more, before closing my eyes and drifting off into a soundless sleep.

I awoke next morning, the light from an um-curtained window blinding me, and I blinked a few times, wondering where I was. The events of yesterday caught up with me, and I rubbed my eyes, getting up from the sofa slowly, still slightly drowsy. I padded over to the window, where I looked out at the barn bathed in the morning sun and smiled a little. I pulled on my riding boots and headed outside to the barn, trying to tame my hair with my fingers as I did so. Monty greeted me as I walked in, and I walked into his stall, talking to him softly.
