A little description of the barn/ranch
Sloping land, so smooth and rustic but peaceful, sits a Massive ranch called Isle of Hope Ranch. The symbolism of peace and tranquility. Mystic mountains kiss the skies and sit so proudly on the south end of the ranch.

I pulled up in my charger as my best friend followed me with the horse. I parked infront of the main office with the lobby and stepped out of my car. I had on a pair of skinny jeans, a blue polo and aviator sunglasses on. My converse didnt help me fit iin any with all of the 'better-than-you' country kids. I shrugged it off and headed inside to check in.

I had just walked in from cleaning up the trailer out side when i saw two cars one with a trailer. Must be the new arrivals i thought. I went to the bathroom and cleaned up my hands a bit and splashed some water on my face getting the dust off and dried it on the towel on the rack before heading out to the check in.

I walked up to the front counter and got my room, stall, and tack room assignments. I took it all back outside and gave Kim the keys. "Ill see you in a month." I said hugging her. I took the truck keys and drove it around to the barn. I parked infront of what would be Rev's stall and turned off the trruck. I sat there and brushed my bangs out of my face before taking a deep breath and getting out.

Myth was out in the pasture neighing loudly at the new arrival. I just shook my head and watched him from my chair as my feet were up on the small desk that sat under the counter and the back of the chair was against the wall on its two back legs.

I unloaded Rev and led him to his stall. I unhooked the lead rope and hung it on the hook outside of his stall. I opened up my new tack room. great. I have to share again. I said recalling the last time I shared a tack room. Ever time I would walk into it it would be trashed. I hoped this year would be different. I unloaded all my stuff and made sure Rev was okay one last time before I went to unhook my trailer.

After finishing up i headed out to the paddock. "Myth get your crazy rear in gear boy!" I laughed as he galloped over meeting me at the gate. I let him put his face into my chest as i stroked his face. "You goof ball" I teased patting his neck.

I parked the trailer over by one of the fields. I sat in the back of the truck and watched a guy mess with his horse. He looked cute from where I was sitting, but he was probably another stuck up kid.

"What do you say we go out to the track huh? I could use a good run" I smiled and took his halter and led him to the stable to get the racing saddle. Tacking him up i led him out with my helmet on and my riding boots on. I never ever used a racing croup. I knew he knew how to run. Why change it? I patted his shoulder and led him to the race track.

I saw the boy leave with the horse towards the barn. I started up the truck a few minutes later and was on my way to unpack when I saw him closing the, my, our, i guess, tack room door. I pulled up beside the barn again and got out this time.

Mounting up i could now see through his ears the stretch of race track in front of me that almost seemed endless. He nickered harshly ready to run as he began to prance under me. I smiled and letting a little bit of slack he took off like a bullet and down the track at flying speeds

I looked in the room. Clean. "Well thats nice." I said inspecting my tack. I wanted to make sure he hadnt touched anything. I grabbed a scoop of feed for Rev and dumped it in his grain bucket and the left to unpack.

"Let her buck" I whispered in his ear and he almost shot out from under me. he had such a kick you'd think the devil himself was nipping at his heals

I found my way to my room and threw all my bags on the bed. I had about an hour until the cafeteria was open for dinner. I started throwing clothes in random drawers, just trying to get it done.

After doing a good fast lap he finally ran it out. His sides were barely moving but his nostrils were flared. "Come on boy time for lunch" I smiled and walked him on the ground back to the stables to the wash room to cool him down

After I finished unpacking I walked down the short path to the cafeteria. I kept my head down as I could feel the glares of everyone else.

After washing and feeding him everyone was called for lunch in the cafeteria. Cleaning up a bit more putting some casual cologne on to take the horse smell out I ended up crossing paths with the new boarder

I didnt see him coming and I bumped into a guy walking the opposite way as me. "Sorry." I mumbled.

"Its alright" I smiled at her as we stopped. "You're the new boarder right?" I asked with a smile

I looked up, shocked that he was even talking to me. "Uh..Yeah. Thats me.

"Awesome, First you are goin the wrong way cafe is this way" I smiled. "Its an honest mistake i do it alot. Im Jake" I smiled

I blushed. "Laurel." I said turning around.

"Come on to save ya the trouble from everyone else you can sit with me and my friends" I offered

"Its really no big deal. I'll be fine." I said as I continued walking.
