Sonic and Sage

"But why would I be there if I'm not suppose to know about it."I asked as I looked around.The sun was already going down even though we got here around three.Wow,time goes by fast when your learning to fight for your life.

"Because I'm inviting you to the 'bonfire'." I said motioning for her to catch up. "Come on."

I just shut up and fell into step beside him,keeping my anxiety hidden.

I walked into the house and closed the door behind her. I yelled by to my mom before grabbing my keys and stepping out the front door. I closed the door once she was through and made my way to the car, opening the door for her.

I hesitated then got in with a sigh.When he got in I asked,"Are you absolutely,100% sure there isn't a way out of this?"

"You'll do fine." I said and grabbed her hand after I started the car. "I promise."

I blushed and looked away when he held my hand but I didn't pull mine back."Easy for you to say your not the one fighting."I mumbled to myself.

"Just calm down." I said. I could feel her hand shaking under mine.

I went quiet again and was quiet until he stopped the car an old forgotten,dead end road that was in the packs territory."He's going to kill me."I whispered as I looked out into the woods expecting Jay to come running in his wolf form.

I released her hand, "I wont let him do that." I said getting out."and please act like you think this is an innocent little gathering." I said begging as I opened the door for her.

I rolled my eyes then put a happy smile on my face as I got out.Then in a cheerful voice I said,"This is going to be so much fun."it would be believable from a distance but up close anyone would be able to see the murderous glare I had and I made sure Evan so that glare.

"Awesome." i said sarcastically. I took her hand and led her to where the fire was burning in the middle of the field. The pack was seated around it, all having a good time.

I smiled and waved at everyone,"What's up?"I asked.

Everyone greeted her with smiles and waves, except Jay. He sat on the ground watching the fire intently. I waved at everybody before sitting down.

I glanced at Jay quickly before looking away,then I sat beside Evan.I leaned against him,then whispered,"When's this going to start?"low enough that only the two of us could hear.

"I'm not sure, probably anytime now." I said in a low whisper.

I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder while looking into the fire."You have my back right?"I asked nervously as Jay got up and disappeared into the dark.

I tensed when jay stood up, "Of course." I said and patted her head. "You're up mutt." I said as a howl rang through the trees.

"Do I wait or what?"I asked nervously as I started glancing around for Jay.

"Follow me." I said and grabbed her hand. I led her through the trees to the opening from earlier.

I smiled as I followed him but when we were alone I asked,"Now what?"Then I heard another howl but this was closer.

I looked over to her and squeezed her hand, "Good luck." I said. "You'll need to morph and move into the field, I'll be on the other side of the field watching." I said before walking off.

I changed as soon as he was gone then trotted out into the field like I didn't know what was going to happen.I heard something to my right but when I looked that way nothing was there.Then something to my left but nothing was there.Calm down your starting to act paranoid.I thought as I looked around,looking to the shadows for Jay.A stick cracked behind me and a whirled around to see Jay standing there with his teeth bared.All I did was whimper,put my tail between my legs and lay down, acting submissive.Take the bait! I chanted as he took a step forward then another step.I whined and gave him puppy eyes.To my surprise he barked a laugh then trotted a little bit closer. He was close enough,so I moved quickly,jumping at him,going straight for his neck.He growled in surprise and tried to move but I grabbed his scruff and bit in deep.Jay reared back and over,hitting me against the ground hard.I let loose of his scuff as he got up and started circling me.

I barked and stomped my foot as I watched her lay down. Then I realized her plan and laughed as she attacked Jay. When he fell back on her I took a step forward, ready to charge.

I never turned my back to Jay because that would have been an easy defeat for him,but some how he ended up penning me down.Fueled by fear and fright I started bitting at whatever I could rach.So when I caught his front paw,a bit down until a heard a crack then he was rolling away.I jumped up ,lowered my head and smiled very coldly at him.He wouldn't let his front right paw touch the ground so he was slightly off balance.I went for his other front leg.I grabbed it just as he grabbed onto my scruff.Now the fight turned into tug-of-war.He pulled on my scruff and I pulled on his leg.I applied more pressure to my bite and let go when i heard another snap.I trotted back a couple of steps smiling.Jay gave up then.He laid down and rolled over to expose his neck and belly to me.I threw my head back in a triumphant howl.
