Build: Slender but athletic

Personality: Hasn't ever cared much for boys or clothes. Really only cared for others and animals.

Hehe. What district shall we be in? I refuse twelve. Refuse it.

District 11. I adore Rue...even though Claire totally doesn't resemble anyone from that district...o.e

Bah. Neither does Rhys. But that's okay, right? Haha, and actually Rhys shall be 15, cus I want him to be younger xP

Rhys was one of the many kids with grim faces, as everyone did on the day of the reaping. His friends stood beside him, the boys and girls seperated. "If you go," they had promised each other, "we'll give everything we can as sponsors." He desperately hoped he wouldn't be picked, because inside, he knew he was a coward.

Claire stood there in the crowd, on the girls side, with a stony face. Her friends were all huddled together, whispering fervently. She had a bad feeling, her stomach churning inside. Of course she'd always felt like this. Every year since she was 12.

The ridiculous host stepped up to the microphone; her hair was died pink and she wore heels that made her look about 10 feet tall. She spoke in that fancy Capitol accent which made it even worse. "Hello! Welcome to the District 11 drawing of the 56th Hunger Games!" She squealed. The mayor stepped forward and proceeded with the customaries. Rhys groaned, holding his stomach.

Claire shuffled her feet, more nervous than she had been before. She hoped she wasn't picked, but there was always the chance she would be. She didn't believe she had a hope of surviving, so why even bother going? Of course if she was picked she would have to go...unless she escaped...but then something bad would happen...so she'd just have to deal. But this was only if she was picked.

Large bowls were brought out, each with a thousand slips of paper in them, containing the names of the unfortunate souls here. Rhys's stomach flipped and he moaned again. "Ladies first!" The announcer squeaked and stuck her hand into the first bowl.

Claire squeezed her eyes shut, and started to twist her finger through her hair. "Please don't pick me, please don't pick me, please don't pick me." She murmured under her breath.

The crazy lady groped around the bowl for a name. "Ah, here's our lucky contestant! C- Claire! Claire Fairfield! Please come to the stage!!!"

Claire felt the color drain from her face. She opened her eyes, but she couldn't move her feet. Finally she made her way to the stage.

Rhys didn't care to recognize the girl, just happy that his sister made it through. He shot her a thumbs up. I f she had made it through, everything'd be okay.

She stood there, utterly silent. She was scared. Terrified. She was going to die. That was a simple fact. She was being dragged to some arena to go die. And no one could stop it.

"And now for the boy!" The lady squealed. "Rhys? Is that how you say it? Rhys Everly? Rhys Everly, you lucky duck!" Rhys's mouth actually dropped in horror, and his friends moved away, like he was infected. He made his way up in a dream-like state, totally transfixed in terror.

Hearing the other name made her look away from her hands. She turned to see who it was. It wasn't hard to tell, it was the only other kid with the face that reflected her own feelings. Seeing him made her realize she wasn't going into this alone, but she was still going. She waited for him to come up to the stage.

Rhys barely registered the girl across from him. It would only make it worse, knowing she'd probably die too, at his hands or the hands of another. "Good luck to you both!" The woman squeaked. "Please follow the Peacekeepers to your train."

Claire hoped this guy wouldn't be the one who killed her. She turned to look at the Peacekeepers, and began to move towards them.

The Peacekeepers led the two tributes to two different train cars. Rhys forced himself to look at the girl. Claire, that was her name. "Hey," he manged, "good luck." He smiled weakly, knowing her survival would mean his death.

"Um. Yeah. You too." She didn't look at him, she couldn't bear to. She hoped that if she didn't live, at least he would. She made a silent vow that she wouldn't kill him, at least until they were the last two left. But she doubted that would happen.

The Peacekeepers seperated the two, much to Rhys's disappointment. Though he didn't know the girl, and they were both destined for ccertain doom, she did seem really nice and pretty and such.

She finally looked at him, glancing back as the Peacekeepers lead her away. He was cute. Really cute. She definitely didn't want to see him die.

Rhys sat in he train car, too numb to do anything else. A servant had come in and put some clothes in the drawer, but other than that, no one disturbed him.

Claire sat down, and barely glanced up when a girl with red hair came in to give her some clothes. She hugged her knees to her chest, staring at the floor.

The room felt too constricting, Rhys had to get out. He ran out into the hallway, moving from car to car until her slammed into a wall. He couldn't see because of the tears streaming down his face.
