Plot:

Leon Hunter became a teen rock sensation at the age of 15. During his first year, he released 2 popular albums and a number one hit single: 'Hourglass'. During his second year he released another album which soon went platinum and became famous around the world. Shortly after that, Leon released another Number One hit single 'Untimely Apology' which made a great buzz all around the world. However, when Leon was called upon to perform this song to honour his induction into the Rock and Roll hall of fame, he simply stepped up on stage and produced the most foul mouthed, rude and insulting speech imaginable, during which he announced that he was quitting the music industry, and refused to play a single note ever again.

Due to this terrible display of bad attitude - Leon's parents sent him away to a strict boarding school in an attempt to make him eat some humble pie and start acting more appropriately.

The school, Hayden High, has top class facilities and offers just about anything a student could ever want. However, the staff are strict and the rules were not made to be bent or broken. Manners and etiquette are of great importance - though it seems that Leon considers himself above such things and is constantly attempting to buy his way out.



Leon Hunter

Leon is of average height for his 17 years, around 1,65m tall. He is slender and muscular with well tanned skin and deep, dark brown hair. He is a typical 'pretty boy', having been fixed up so many times to look his best on stage. His eyes are a mysterious chocolate brown, and while the expression within them is usually harsh and cruel - something about the hardened lines of his face suggests a softness that never shows, almost as though he is hiding something. His dark brown hair is streaked with golden highlights and always styled to perfection: Falling across his face in a jagged sideways fringe and covering his ears with stylishly untidy strands. Leon will never go out in public without thick layers of black eyeliner - as is his style - and most of the time he will have subtle, undetectable traces of makeup covering any imperfections on his handsome face..

She stands at 5"6, a fairly ordinary height for girls of her age. Her unnatually pale skin gives her a good excuse to put on more eye makup, which usually consists of electric blue and shocking pink. A lot of people don't really know Roxy, they think she's just another emo, but behind the makup and the multicoloured hair and clothes, lies someone who would want to jump in front of a bullet for her best friend.
As for her likes and dislikes, well...let's just say she isn't too keen on Leon's music.

Roxy was already up and dressed at 5am, she didn't really feel the need to sleep any longer. Her lime green converse crunched against the frosty morning grass as she walked through the grounds, wearing her usual. I seem to be immune to the cold, she thought to herself, as she pulled on her pink and black striped elbow gloves. Roxy shoved her hands in her pockets, staring out across the horizon as the sun slowly ascended in the cyan/magenta sky. She rocked on the balls of her feet, and sitting on one of the benches, pulled out her iPod and started to listen to some quiet music, hugging her knees and enjoying the quiet morning.

Leon fumed silently as he marched down the short staircase and into the cold air outside. He could not believe his parents had dared send him to this place! It was thanks to him that they had money! And lots of it, at that. Why should he of all people have to get an education all of a sudden?! It was pathetic. It was-
Suddenly, Leon felt himself collide with something, and the object gave a surprised squeak. He stepped back, raising his eyebrows as a girl a few years younger than himself came into view. She was wearing a T-shirt advertising his latest album, and she held the CD in her hands, staring hopefully up at him. "Can you sign it?" She whispered in awe. "I could." Leon replied flippantly, "But I'm not going to bother, so got *beep* the hell off." He said coldly. The girl's eyes filled with tears as she turned and dashed away from him. He watched her with a smug expression, then shook his head and walked on. He soon began to near some benches, though once again he was lost in his own thoughts.

Roxy yawned wide and pulled her earphones out of her ears and stuffed them back in her pocket. The temperature had risen slightly since she first stepped out into the crisp morning air, and she decided to take a wander down the grounds so she came paralell with the cafeteria. Roxy got to her feet and walked around the bench, keeping her eyes fixed on a small fountain that was shooting out water. She turned her head back to look where she was going, and collided straight into someone. She stumbled back a few paces. 'S-Sorry.' She stammered when she had realised what she had just done. 'I didn't see you there, in a little world of my own.' She managed a small smile, before looking up into the face of the oncoming traffic. Her face fell a little, but she managed to hide behind a cough. It was Leon. She detested his music, his attitude, everything about him. He was good looking though, but Roxy had always told herself not to sink to his level.

Leon raised his eyebrows as he stared coldly down at her. "I would accuse you of walking into me intentionally, but since you're so clearly an emo, and most probably a lesbian at that, I'll let it slide." He stated with a mockingly kind smile He yawned openly, clearly bored by the exchange already, then shouldered past her and continued walking, wondering vaguely if she'd have the guts to walk after him and defend herself. The more enemies he made, the better... He had to finish what he'd started that night on stage. She was just his unfortunate first victim. Simple as that.

Roxy stared after him, mouth open. 'Lesbian?' She gaped. She stormed after him, arms folded. 'I would have thought that phrase better described you, actually.' She snapped loudly. 'And since you don't know anything about me, it's rather unfair that you go around cursing to every singly person that you meet!' She added even louder, her voice rising almost hysterically. Roxy clenched her jaw tightly, her face growing hot.

"Oh, oh, it seems I have hit a nerve!" Leon exclaimed with ill disguised delight. "And if you don't mind me saying, love, it was merely an educated guess. You're the one who ought not to walk into every person you meet. It looks mighty suspicious you know. What would your girlfriend say if she thought you were cheating on her with a guy... Oh tut tut, that just wouldn't do, would it?" He jeered cruelly, seeming to take extreme enjoyment from teasing the poor girl, though deep down he knew he agreed with everything she'd said.

She took a shuddering breath, composing herself. 'Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon, it doesn't mean everyone you meet will just simply leave you alone!' She said with a voice of forced calm. 'It was an accident that I bumped into you, it was my fault, I wasn't watching where I was going, but you are allowed to take the blame sometimes!' She could feel hot tears coming to her eyes. 'I feel sorry for anyone else who happens to fall foul of your short temper today.' I ended the conversation with a defiant glare, and marched off towards the cafeteria.

"As do I..." Leon muttered under his breath to himself as she walked away. He hated the sickening feeling of cold self-disappointment that came every time he hurt somebody, but this was the choice he had made... And he would stick to it.
Suddenly, Leon's heard his phone ring: Playing the tune of his last song: Untimely Apology. The fact alone told him who was calling. He glanced around briefly, then broke into a jog, trying to get away from everybody. He was getting near to the cafeteria when he finally found a deserted corridor. Noticing an empty broom cupboard beside him, Leon threw a quick nervous glance around before closing himself inside. He needed privacy, and he didn't have time to get back to his room. "Kimmie!" he exclaimed in obvious delight, his voice kind and caring. "How are you feeling?" He asked, his voice trembling slightly in concern.
"Lion!" Kimmie exclaimed in reply, giggling ecstatically. "I feel better today - Mommy even let me get out of bed!"
"Wow, Kimmie, that's great!" Leon exclaimed enthusiastically, struggling to hide the emotion in his voice. Little Kimmie... She was so sick... And... "Leon, when are you coming home?" She asked, suddenly tearful. "Soon, Kimmie. Real soon... I promise." Leon murmured gently. "Pinkie swear?" She asked, her voice suddenly seeming weak and fragile. "Pinkie swear." Leon confirmed softly, lowering his head and closing his eyes, half wishing that the darkness around him might devour him and never let him go. "Leon?" A cold, official voice at the other end of the line asked, "Kimberleigh is asleep. I don't want you calling her so often - it exhausts her!" His mother snapped, then hung up the phone on him. Leon sighed as he slipped the cell phone back into his pocket. He wondered vaguely what would happen if he stayed in the cupboard all day... He didn't feel like leaving....

Roxy stopped when he heard his voice behind her. She stoped around the corner and listed to his conversation, knowing she shouldn't, but after his rude introduction she didn't really care for him. Her eyes widened as he heard his friendly tone of voice, either he was being VERY convincing or he genuinley was happy hear from the girl who calls herself Kimmie. Roxy smirked a little, before setting off to the cafeteria. So he apparently cared about her? Who was she? A girlfriend? A friend? Yet judging by the way he was talking to her, she decided she might be more of a child than a girlfriend. She checked her watch as she entered the cafeteria. It was 5:50am. The cooks were only just opening the hatch to the kitchens, and laying out the food on the surface. Roxy gave another yawn and picked up a bowl, spooning herself a rather large portion of Musli.
'Roxy Smith, you are getting earlier every morning.' Jane, one of the cooks exclaimed in mock distain. A large smile spread across her face.
'Sorry Jane, just can't sleep.' Jane smiled and gestured for her to go and sit down. She picked up some orange juice and sat down with her back to the door, looking around the empty cafeteria. It was almost eerie, the pale light streamed through the large windows, casting ghostly shadows on the white walls.

Leon sighed, finally kicking the cupboard open and stepping outside. He did not linger around, for it would be problematic if he was caught hiding in a cupboard, but instead headed toward the cafeteria. He glanced at the food in apparent disdain, then wrinkled his nose and stalked off to sit in a corner. He sat still a while, looking distinctly subdued as he fidgeted with his hands. He had not been able to keep his fingers still since giving up his music... Finally, Leon became annoyed with his own fidgeting and resorted instead to his recently acquired pastime meant to replace playing. He took a cigarette out of his pocket and popped it into his mouth, then lit it with a click of his lighter. It gave his hands something to do, at least... He ignored the dirty looks he got from the kitchen staff as his smoke drifted toward the ceiling. None of them bothered to tell him off, though he could see they were itching to.

The smell of smoke wafted past Roxy as she raised another spoonful of muesli to her mouth. She wrinkled her nose and turned to see Leon smoking. She rolled her eyes, and turned back to her muesli. She wasn't surprised to find she had suddenly lost her appetite. Roxy got to her feet, and tipped the rest of the cereal in the bin, and draining her orange juice in one, she returned the bowl and the empty glass back to Jane, who took it with a smile. As Roxy turned to sit back down, she was sure Jane had cast a dirty look in Leon's direction. She sat down and pulled out her phone, flicking through her pictures aimlessly.

Leon glanced around the room, soon finding himself bored. He glanced toward the girl who sat at one of the other tables, and was pleased to find that he recognised her. Ah... Something with which to amuse himself.
Leon used his bluetooth to find the girl's number ((I know, not possible, but he's Leon, so try telling him that. )) then typed a quick text.

He snickered to himself, then flipped his phone shut and leaned back, puffing luxuriously on his cigarette as he waited to see what her response would be. Hopefully something interesting...

A text sprung to my attention. I opened it, and wished I hadn't. How the hell had he got my number. I replied.

I quickly sent it and continued to look through the photos from a concert that I went to about a month ago. I put my feet on the table, retying my laces, but keeping them there, leaning back on the seat.

Leon snickered as he read her reply, then flipped his phone closed and slipped it into his pocket. He got up, scraping his chair against the floor, and didn't bother to push it in again as he walked over to her. He grabbed the back of the chair and pulled it back, but held it steady, not allowing it to drop. Forcing her to trust him would probably annoy her more than simply causing her chair to fall over anyway. He was about to make some snide remark, but then he noticed the photo on the screen of her phone and his curiosity piqued. He leaned over to get a better look, his face not quite seeming his own without its usual cruel, self-satisfied expression. "What concert was that?" He asked, his tone showing nothing but innocent interest for once. In fact, he was so distracted by the photo that he was acting almost pleasant, aside from the fact that he was still absentmindedly holding her chair up. Then again, surely that would only count as unpleasant if he dropped it...?

Roxy allowed herself a little squeal as she felt the chair pull back behind her. She grabbed the table, but insead of falling, she was suspended in mid air. Looking back, she saw Leon holding the chair. 'Huh?' She asked stupidly when he asked about the picture. It was the last question she expected to fly from his mouth. 'Oh...that. Black Eyed Peas.' I shrugged. 'Why?' I pulled the chair forwards, spinning around so I was sitting on the table with my feet on the chair.

Leon shrugged vaguely, releasing the chair as she pulled it forwards. "Is curiosity a crime now?" He asked snarkily, suddenly seeming more like the jerk he was. "They're pretty good." He added in a more pleasant tone, gesturing toward the photos. "Not my kind of music, but they play well." He explained, then straightened and glanced down at her. He felt a sudden flash of panic as he realized he had been acting almost civil, and quickly rushed to correct his mistake. "Well, I guess you'll be wanting to make yourself throw up now." He said, glancing over her judgmentally, "Else I suppose you'll never manage to pick up any guys, will you?" He asked in mock pity. "Anyway, I don't much like the smell, so I'll just leave you to it." He concluded, flashing her a charming wink that was clearly an insult before turning away. He dd not quite realize that, due to his lapse in concentration, he had just forgotten to reapply his mockery from before as he had been doing...

His nice manner was almost fooling Roxy into thinking he was a nice guy. Who was she kidding? 'Hey numb-skull I thought I was meant to be lesbian?' She said with a smile as he turned his back. Roxy shook her head and pocketed her phone, rolling her eyes. Why did he have to be so...crude all the time? If he was nice to someone then she was sure he'd be someone nice to hang around with.

"Oh, pretty sharp there." Leon commented, turning his head back to glance at her with a smirk. "Maybe if you were that sharp when applying your make-up, you actually would stand a chance at being straight." He shrugged innocently, then turned away and walked toward the door, dropping what was left of his cigarette in a pot plant before stepping outside. He sighed vaguely, shaking his head before starting to walk off down the corridor. He suddenly paused as his eyes came to rest on the broom cupboard where he had hidden not so long ago, and he was reminded of his conversation. Kimmie... She was so sick... He wanted to get away from this place and go see her, yet at the same time, he could not bear the thought of having to look her in the eyes and see what she had become... All because of him.

I rolled my eyes. 'Says the one with the excessive eyeliner.' She mumbled with a slight smile. Standing out was one of the things Roxy got put down for, she had had enough of being one of the boring everyday people that wore the same and talked the same and looked the same. She shoved her phone back in her pocket and made her way back to my room walking past Leon. When she was in there, she grabbed her shoulder bag.

Leon chuckled softly to himself as the girl walked past, shaking his head at her comment. She had a point, of course, but he had got into the habit of using make-up on stage, and now he simply couldn't get used to the way his face looked without it. He shrugged, giving subdued sigh, then walking in the same direction as the girl to his own room. He was miserable, and unless he was careful, it would show. He needed something to clear his head and he knew that only music could really do that... But he had given up playing, and he was not going back on his word...
Leon stepped into his room, kicking the door shut behind him and failing to notice when it bounced slightly off the frame and stayed open a crack. He gnawed nervously on his fingernails as he tried to decide what to do - then finally gave in to the temptation and picked up his guitar, sitting down on his bed and releasing a blissful sigh at the glorious feeling of having the familiar strings beneath his fingers. Before he knew it he was plucking out a tune, and the tune soon developed to one of the songs that had always been a great inspiration inspiration to him: 21 Guns by Greenday.
As he began playing it, he soon found himself singing along softly. His voice did not even seem his own without its usual harsh, jeering tone. In fact, his voice was soft and gentle, hinting at a soft heart that he most certainly did not show.
The lyrics drifted from his lips in an almost flawless likeness to Greenday, only they were sung in his own melodic voice.

Leon broke off there, letting his fingers strum out the tune wordlessly, as he could no longer extract any words past the lump forming in his throat. It was just too fitting... The lyrics... They were too truthful - almost too much to bear. They just made him think of Kimmie all the more, far from taking his mind off her. He bowed his head, ashamed of his emotions and the way they caused him to feel a slight prickling behind his eyes as tears threatened to spill over. It was only with a massive effort that he could hold them back. Kimmie... Oh, Kimmie... What had he done...? The same lyrics replayed in his head over and over - and soon Leon found himself repeating them softly once more, his voice shaking from emotion.

Roxy jumped onto her bed, resting her head against the wall. she rooted around her bag, and brought out her sciences book, and began scribbling stuff in it. Eventually her concentration drifted, and she ended up closing her eyes and leaning backwards. She discarded her book and pen, and hugged a pillow instead. She watched the clock tick slowly...Then the distant sound of music could be heard through the wall. She wondered wether someone was purposefully trying to wake the whole row up at half 6 in the morning, but the song wasn't agressivly sung. Realising the sound was coming from next door, she picked up a glass from her beside table and chucked the water out of it. Putting the glass to the wall and her ear to the glass, she could hear the music as clear as day. Quietly, she crept outside and into the hallway, standing beside the open door, listening to the music that was slowly getting quieter. She smiled to herself and closed her eyes.

Leon finally fell silent with a sigh. He hardly felt better... If anything he felt worse... But at least he was calmer now, and at least he was thinking straight. He pushed his guitar to one side, then got to his feet. He checked his pocket for his cell phone and, satisfied that it was there, pushed dark sunglasses onto his face, even though the weather did not call for such measures. He was sure to be glassy eyed after that, and he would not be helping his cause at all to appear in public looking like he was about to burst into tears. He huffed an irritable sigh, then stalked over to the door, flinging it open and stepping outside. He cursed loudly, jumping in surprise as he saw the girl outside. "What the *beep* are you doing here?!" He demanded aggressively, mentally kicking himself as he detected a slight tremor in his own voice - not to mention a certain note of panic that he had been rather keen to hide. He drew himself up to his full height as he stared at the girl, his jaw clenched in cold fury instilled in him by a heart-stopping fear that he would never admit to.

He had been playing a CD, that was all... A Greenday CD... Why shouldn't he play a Greenday CD..? Only he hoped she didn't listen to much of their music, else there was not a chance he'd fool her. Then again, maybe she hadn't even heard... Yes... That would be it... He couldn't be so unlucky as to be caught breaking his own promises so soon.

Roxy jumped and opened her eyes. 'Huh? Oh, sorry!' She bit her lip. 'I was listening to your music.....I love Greenday that's all...I wasn't spying on you or anything.' I said the last sentence rather quickly. I just hoped he wouldn't take it the wrong way. Wait, Leon was next door to me? 'You play the guitar well.' I nodded, breaking the awkward silence.
