"I gave up playing." Leon stated simply, glancing away from her so she would not be able to detect the lie in his expression, even though his eyes were covered by the sunglasses. "It's just a CD." He replied stiffly, "Get one yourself if you're so desperate to hear it!" He added harshly, turning to glare at her, his jaw clenched in annoyance. He was silent a moment, then, "Greenday are brilliant." He admitted grudgingly, sighing, stepping out of his room and pulling the door shut behind him. He just wasn't feeling strong enough to act like a complete jerk anyway. He didn't have anything unkind to say... He'd make up for it later...

Roxy sighed disbelievingly, shaking her head and re entering her room. She could tell it wasn't a CD. Roxy had listened to their music enough times to know what they sound like, but truth be told, he sounded better. She didn't want to admit this, however, as she sunk her head into her pillow. She'd never liked his attitude towards other people, but she couldn't hide the fact that he was a talented musician.

Leon watched the girl as she left, glad and a little grateful that she had not questioned him. He didn't want to answer those sorts of questions... Why had he given up if he still wanted to play? Well, of course he wanted to play! Music was in his soul - but how could he say that without giving the true reason he had quit...? No, he had been given no choice but to turn his own fans against him. Of course, many had overlooked his obnoxious attitude all the same, which was the exact reason that he had to keep it up now. He sighed, leaning back against the wall and wondering what he ought to do. He didn't feel like doing anything... Perhaps he ought to go visit Kimmie... But he just couldn't bear the thought of seeing her so-

When it's time to live and let die, and you can't get another try...

Damn, damn, damn! Why couldn't he get that effing sound out of his head?! He couldn't take it any more... Leon shook his head, then ripped his door open and stepped back inside, closing it behind him. He leaned back against it, resting his head on the hard wood as a shuddering breath escaped is lips. Kimmie... Suddenly, Leon couldn't hold it together any more. He staggered over to his bed and collapsed against it, burying his head in his pillows. He lay there a long while, his back shaking with silent sobs. He couldn't be strong all the time... He couldn't just cope with all this alone - but what else could he do?
When Leon's sobs finally subsided, he found them replaced by a violent coughing fit. He raised his hand to cover his mouth as painful coughs ripped from his throat, and when he lowered it again it was to see the now familiar sight of a spattering of blood on his palm. He sighed, walking over the the bathroom to wash his hands and wipe his mouth. After that, he set to work cleaning off the dark eye make-up that had been smudged by his tears. He barely recognised himself without it, but he simply shrugged vaguely at his expression before walking back into his room - hovering there pointlessly as he wondered what he should do with himself. His gaze automatically travelled to his guitar... NO! He had got caught last time! He couldn't play any more...

She closed her eyes, beginning to hum the song to herself.
'One, 21 guns......' She song into her pillow, the muffled song strangely relaxing her. Slowly, she drifted off into a shallow sleep, only awoken when the sound of coughing floated through the wall. Drowsily, she turned over and rubbed her eyes, but when she had properly woken up, the sound had stopped. 'Probably i-imagined it.' Roxy struggled through a yawn.

Leon shook his head with a frustrated sigh, walking over to the door again. His face seemed slightly pinched and grey with the absence of his usual professionally applied make-up, but either he hadn't noticed or he didn't care. He coughed softly as he reached the door, then opened it and stepped outside, leaning against the wall as he typed a text on his cell phone. He would go to visit Kimmie after all... It was for him to man up and just spend a little time with her... He sighed, sliding the phone back into his pocket as it beeped to assure him that the text had sent. Now he just had to wait for Marcel to confirm that he would be coming to take Leon home for a visit... His parents would not be pleased to see him. They had wanted him to get away from it all... To 'improve his attitude'. Hell, didn't they even know their own son?! He sometimes wished that at least they could tell that it was all an act...

Roxy sat up at stretched. The clock read 6:45am, and to her dismay, people would be starting to wake up. Thankfully it was a weekend, Saturdays were her favourite days. She reached up a hand and unclipped her hair, letting the tangled mass fall to her waist in colours of black, blue and pink. Throwing most of it over one shoulder, she slung her bag onto the other, and headed out her room, locking it and pocketing the key, not paying much attention to Leon, who had the air of someone impatient waiting for something. Heading along the sheltered corridors, she made her way out to the gym, breaking into a jog when she was outside, as rain started to fall. The gym was already open, there were already some people in there practicing matrial arts or working out on the benches and tredmills. Roxy dumped her stuff in the changing rooms, and headed to her locker, where she pulled out her gym kit. It was unusually colourless for me. she thought to herself as she pulled on the deep navy jogging trousers and grey hoodie, both bearing the school's logo. Normal running trainers replaced her neon converse, and with that she dumped her clothes into her locker, along with her elbow gloves. Securing her hair with a hair-tie, she headed out to the treadmill, iPod in her hand.

Leon glanced up briefly as the girl walked past, but paid her little attention. He didn't feel up to insulting anybody right then anyway, so he settled for glaring sullenly at her instead. Once she was gone, he sighed and rested his head against the wall, closing his eyes in exhaustion. He was almost drifting into a state of sleep when his cell phone gave a sharp beep. He jumped slightly at the sound, fumbling to get his fingers around the cell phone. When he finally managed to grip it, he pulled it out and scanned quickly over the text - then walked out into the school yard. A shiny black limo awaited him, and the few early risers who were up and about were pointing at it and whispering excitedly.
Pointedly ignoring them, Leon climbed into the limo without a word and slammed the door behind him. "Good morning Master Leon." Marcel greeted him grudgingly. Leon grunted in response, and they spent the rest of the drive to his house ignoring each other in silent dislike. Leon offered a reluctant word of thanks as he left the Limo outside his house, and Marcel acknowledged him with a nod before pulling out and driving away. Leon walked over to the door and rapped lightly with his knuckles on the wood, waiting slightly nervously for somebody to answer.
A short while later, his mother came to the door, greeted him with a polite hug and invited him inside. Leon spent the adequate amount of time socialising with his parents, then asked if he could see Kimmie. They exchanged a glance, but grudgingly agreed.
Leon walked slowly up to Kimmie's room, tapping gently on the door before entering.
"Leon!" She exclaimed in delight, sitting bolt upright in bed and letting her tiny face crack into a grin. "Kimmie..." Leon murmured softly. "It's good to see you - how have you been doing?"
They sat and chatted for a while in silent companionship, then when Leon finally got up to leave, Kimmie grabbed his arm. "What?" He asked in slight surprise, turning back to face her. "Leon, sing a song for me." She pleaded, fixing him with a puppy-dog stare. "You know I can't Kimmie..." Leon muttered, glancing pointedly away. "I gave it up." Kimmie shook her head rapidly. "It doesn't have to be a rock song!" She begged, tugging on his sleeve. "Just sing something to put me to sleep." Leon sighed, but reluctantly acquiesced, softly singing a childeren's lullaby until Kimmie was resting peacefully.

He left then, driving back to the school with Marcel to arrive shortly before noon. He looked around the deserted school yards with a sad sigh, then slowly made his way toward the doors, dragging his feet in exhaustion since there was nobody around to impress.

Roxy fnished and changed back into her normal clothes, passing many people who were just getting changed. She shoved her kit back into her locker, brushing her hair so it was almost uncharacteristically neat looking. Leaving the gym, she spotted Rachel across the grounds. She waved to Roxy, Roxy smiled and waved back. She came tottering over to her.
'Hey, have you seen Leon?' Asked Rachel exitedly.
Roxy's shoulders sunk. 'I dunno. I don't care to be honest.'
'I was just wondering if he'd give me an autograph....' She said dreamily, bouncing on her tiptoes, looking over people's shoulders.
Roxy brandished her hairbrush threateningly. 'I swear Rachel, if you don't shut up about Leon I'll shove this brush-'
'Okay, okay!' Rachel said quickly, noticing the look of complete disinterest on Roxy's face. 'I still don't know why you don't like him...'
'Yeah well,' she started in an exhasperated tone, 'if you ask him for an autograph you'll know why.'

Leon finally made his way to the corridor where his room resided. He stumbled wearily toward the door, dragging his feet. Just as he reached it, however, a violent coughing fit enveloped him. He doubled over, his legs almost giving way as he slumped against the door handle. Harsh, dry coughs ripped painfully from his throat - releasing a faint haze of crimson into the air as blood spurted from his lungs. His legs weakened further as the coughing gained in volume and strength - shaking his entire body with his force. He soon found himself sliding down the wall, clinging desperately to the door handle for support as his body shook. When the coughing finally subsided, Leon was drenched in cold sweat and a trickle of blood ran from the corner of his mouth. Too exhausted even to pull himself up, Leon let himself sink to the ground - panting and wheezing desperately as he struggled to catch his breath. He raised a fisted hand and irritably wiped away the droplet of blood that was now trickling down his chin. His usually immaculate hair seemed distinctly dishevelled from having been rubbed against the wall, and his usually perfectly toned face seemed somewhat pinched and held a grayish tinge - making him seem eons older than he was.

'Come on, let's go to the caffeteria for some lunch.' Rachel said, sinking back, flat on her feet again.
'It's lunch already?' Roxy asked, mildly surprised. Rachel grabbed her hand and towed her off. She took that as a yes. 'Wait, I need to get something from my room! I'll meet you down there.' Rachel threw her a slightly disspaointed look as Roxy broke away from her grip, but settled for a shrug and walked off on her own. Roxy made her way back to her room at a brisk walk, untill she was on the corridor her room was. She didn't notice Leon untill she came back out again, her hair fized up in it's usual up-do. 'Leon, are you alright?' She said, a hint of a smile on her face. Was he just...joking? 'You look really pale.' A frown wiped the smile off her face.

Leon stiffened and held his breath as the girl walked past, then gave a relieved sigh and relaxed again as she vanished into her room without noticing him. He heaved himself to his feet, struggling to keep his balance as he side-stepped toward the door. He jumped as he heard her voice behind him, spinning around to face her with the distinct aura of a deer caught in headlights. "N-no.." He stuttered uncertainly, "I mean yes! Yes- I'm fine." He replied a little too quickly, his voice still slightly hoarse. "Just... Go fix your hair or something." He muttered half-heartedly, clearly failing to come up with any decent insults in the state he was in. He gripped the wall behind him for support as he felt his legs buckle slightly, but to his relief he found he was able to stay standing. Hopefully she would just assume he was drunk or something...

'In case you didn't notice, I have. So what's wrong?' She asked a little more forcefully. Surley Leon wasn't faking? She didn't have time to waste with a joke, she said she'd meet Rachel in the cafeteria.

"What's to notice?" He snapped rudely, a defensive snarl curving his lips. "And I told you nothing's wrong. Leave me the hell alone if you know what's good for y-" Leon broke off, collapsing forward as he suddenly began coughing again. He clapped a hand to his mouth to hide the blood that he knew would be sure to follow, then waited a moment to catch his breath - struggling to remind his lungs to function. As soon as they began to co-operate, Leon swore loudly. Typical.

Roxy frowned. 'Swearing won't help. Now tell me what's wrong before I get the nurse on you.' She said sternly, with a tiny touch of humour. Maybe it was the after effects of smoking. Typical for rockstars. Always thought they were invincible.

"Maybe not, but it'll make me feel better." Leon grumbled in reply - his tone almost mirroring her own with a touch of humour. Apparently he was forgetting to be a jerk, or perhaps he just didn't care at that moment... "I told you - it's nothing. I'm recovering from the flu is all, and still haven't got rid off this cough." He lied easily, shrugging vaguely and straightening up again - leaning slightly against the wall. "Why would you care anyway?" He added, narrowing his eyes in obvious suspicion and folding his arms as he watched her.

'Because I'm not a heartless wretch like yourself, who cares for nobody but himself. You're not the only person in the world, Leon.' Anger flared up inside me unexpectedly, but it was for his own good, slamming my door behind me, I took off for the cafeteria without another word.

Leon heaved a soft sigh of relief as the girl left - though at the same time he felt instantly guilty. Even after how he had treated her - she had just been trying to help him. Then again, what other choice had he had? Nobody could know... Nobody could ever know... He sighed and shook his head, finally managing to pull open his door and enter his room.
Once there, a sudden thought struck him, and he whipped out his cellphone and typed a quick text, then waited for the reply - twiddling his thumbs in anticipation. After a minute that seemed an hour - the cell phone beeped to alert him of the reply, and Leon read it with a slight smile.
Now all he had to do was wait... Hey kicked off his shoes and lay back on his bed - his fingers silently plucking the strings of an imaginary guitar as he waited.

Some time later - he heard a knock at his door. Getting up - he walked over and opened it, nodding briefly to the delivery guy who held a box of chocolates. The guy stared openly at him - his mouth agape - and Leon soon lost patience and snatched the box from him. "Get the hell out of my face." He ordered coldly, handing the man a tip and fixing him with an icy glare as he hurried away. Slamming his door in an ill temper - Leon carried the box of chocolates back inside with him. He grabbed a fancy pen, opened the card attached to the box and quickly wrote:

Thanks.
Sorry.
Tell anybody I did this and I'll kill you.

He leaned back to admire his work. His handwriting was stylish and neat - as he had practiced it so often when signing autographs and replying to fanmail. The words themselves seemed to fit well enough as well. They said everything he wanted to say - yet did not completely eliminate the fact that he still wanted to be considered a complete jerk - despite the kind gesture. Shrugging vaguely, Leon picked up the fancy box of chocolates and slid it under the girl's door, then walked back into his own room and closed the door - pleased that he had at least done something to make up for his lousy attitude.
He didn't like being such an ass... But then again - what other choice did he have?

I let out a frustrated growl as I stormed down to the cafeteria. Sure enough, Rachel was sat at a table with two plates of burger and chips. I sat down grumpily next to her and started to eat.
'What's up?' She asked, popping a chip into her mouth.
'Nothing.' I said sharply.
'Come on, you can tell me.' I ignored her.
Soon I had finished my plate, a long time before Rachel had. I sat back on my chair, jaw clenched.

Suddenly feeling rather lethargic, Leon walked over to his bed and slumped down upon it. He knew he ought to eat - but he simply couldn't muster any sort of appetite... Besides, he wasn't really feeling well enough to walk all the way to the cafeteria anyway. He would go later and see if it was possible to force down some food... Maybe. Yawning widely, Leon glanced briefly toward his guitar, then shook his head and turned away - resisting the urge to play it. Instead, he took a cigarette from his pocket and lit it - watching as the smoke slowly curled toward the roof. Okay - so he probably shouldn't have been smoking - but it made him feel better, so...

Racel looked at her watch. 'Oh my GOD! I have to bee somewhere!!' She said franticly, standing up so fast that her chair toppled over with a larg crash, causing many heads to turn. I ignored the unwanted attention.
'It's alright, I'll clean up.'
'Thanks so much!' Without another word she legged it out of the hall. I cleared my throat, seeing out the corner of my eye a guy still staring at me.
'What do you want?' I snapped. He shrugged and turned back to his food, looking quite melancholy.

Some time later, Leon finished his cigarette and extinguished what was left of it in the ash tray beside his bed. He sat still for a moment, his hands clasped in his lap, then sighed and pushed himself to his feet. He had to eat some time... Hauling himself to the bathroom, Leon quickly touched up his hair - not willing to go out with a dishevelled look that might lead to awkward questions, especially after that girl had seen him have one of his frequent 'attacks'. Finally, Leon dragged himself to his door and pulled it open, glancing into the corridor outside before stepping out of his dorm.
