I had shadow at his full run when I saw a jogger coming our way.I pulled on the makeshift reins and Shadow slid to a stop.My hair was in a ponytail and I had taken my jacket off in the car becuase it had gotten to hot.I sat there,probably looking like a clown or something,waiting for the jogger to go on by so Shadow wouldn't spook when we started running again.Shadow looked very mean when he was in a normal condition but right now with his jet black pelt glistening with sweat and his nostrils flaring,he probably looked like the devil himself.

I saw a horse coming around the corner and stopped dead in my tracks. I sped back up to a very slow jog. As I got closer I could make out the face of the rider. "Cowgirl." I mumbled. I jogged up to the front of her horse and stopped.

"Bastard."I said sweetly,"You do know your not suppose to jog on horse trails,right?"I asked slowly like he was stupid.

"Nobody had anything to worry about until you showed up, bitch." I said not moving.

"Aw that was nice of you to call me a bitch,because a bitch is a dog,a dog barks,bark is on a tree,and trees are part of nature and nature is beautiful.So ya thanks."I said sweetly.

"Well enjoy your nature." I said as I flung my arms into the air and yelled spooking her horse.

Shadow reared and I wasn't prepared for it and fell onto the ground hitting my head on something.The last thing I remember was Shadow running away.

I saw her hit her head on a rock. "Shit." I mumbled. I ran over to her and lifted her head up. "Cowgirl?"

I came back from wherever you go when you black out like that,and pushed him away."Dammit."I said rubbing the back of my head.I looked around and saw that Shadow was gone."Oh shit!"I said and got up still rubbing the back of my head because it hurt like hell.I whistled and waited.I heard a neigh and walked towards it."Thanks alot."I said over my shoulder,then I went to find Shadow before he could get into trouble.

"NO! Stop, your bleeding like hell." I said holding on to her arm.

"I don't give a shit!"I yelled at him,"Shadow has bit a persons finger off before ,I do NOT need that to happen again."I whistled again and Shadow came trotting my way the white in his eyes showing and his nostrils flaring even more.He did look like a demon horse,"Hey bud."I said cheerfully keeping all traces of any other emotion other than calmness out of my voice and stance.I got a sugar cube out of my pocket and held my hand out to him.

"You're fu**ing crazy!" I yelled at her.

"No what was crazy,"I said while getting on Shadow again,"was what you did!Don't you know anything about horses?"I clucked to Shadow and he started walking back towards the truck,I was afraid that if he went any faster,that with all the bouncing I would pass out.I was already starting to feel light headed.

"Yes actually I do! And I'll prove it to you. "Get in your truck and follow me." I said jogging back towards my car.

I laughed,"Unless your heading to my house,which I can say right now that your not,then I'm not going to follow you."I pulled back on the makeshift reins.My head was really starting to hurt and I felt like I was getting ready to pass out.I knew I looked drunk,sitting there swaying a little bit.

"Listen i'm about to let you in on a secret that not even my parents know about." I said stoping to look at her.

"Dude I don't care.Right now I'm just focused on not passing out."I clucked to Shadow again and he took off at a walk again.

"Atleast promise me that you'll go see a doctor."

"i planed on it after I get Shadow home and if theres anyone there to take me."I said wincing when I reached back and touched where it hurt.

I gave her my number. "Call me if you need a ride." I said.

I sighed,"Wouldn't it be easier to just drive me to me house instead of me just calling you then?", that took a lot of my pride just to say that one sentence.

"What about your horse?" I stopped and took a deep breath. "There is a barn down the road, I know the people who own it. They wont mind if ou want to keep him there until you get back."

I looked down at Shadow,"Okay."I said.We were back at my truck again, so I slid off Shadow and opened the door to the trailer and led him in.After I shut the door to the trailer,I turned and tossed the truck keys to him."Your gonna have to drive."I said.

I caught them and nodded. I walked around to the passengers side and opened the door. "Get in." I said. Once she was in I went to the other side and got in.

I took my Brooks and Dunn cd out of the cd player and put my Joe Diffie cd in.My head may have hurt like hell but I still sang along to John Deere Green in my awesome singing voice.
