Harlow frowned,"I've never heard of Hedone,what's she the goddess of?"she asked absentmindedly as she walked over to a vibrant flower and picked it.She held the flower in her mouth as she flipped her hair and pulled it all back into a ponytail.Very carefully she worked the flower into her hair as she walked back to Daren.Harlow took her jacket off then used the crystal to make it disappear,she wouldn't need it while she was in Olympus.

"Shes the goddess of...." He trailed off a bit, then recollected himself. "Shes the goddess of pleasure." He said with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Come on, I wanna show you some stuff in the library."

"Okay."Harlow said and intertwined her fingers with his."What was it like growing up here?"she asked, trying to remember her life before she became an angel so she could compare whether they grew up the same o rnot.

"I don't know. I rarely visited. My mom and dad were never together, and she preferred living on Earth. Dad...well, we never had much in common." He shrugged as if it were nothing, but it did mean a lot. When he was growing up, dads played catch with their sons and ate ice cream with them and built things for them. His dad built things, but since he and Aphrodite were technically married...well, the goddess of love didnt love Daren all that much.
He threw open the doors of the library, and waved to the man behind the desk. He appeared to be in his mid-20's with a dark beard, curly hair, and twinkling grey eyes.

"Oh,I'm sorry."Harlow said and squeezed his hand.She smiled at the librarian who gave her a weird look.She didn't take it personal,much,just turned her attention back to Daren."So what did you want to show me?A story about you and how you saved some damsel in distress from a sea serpent?" She asked teasingly,loving that she could be herself around him.

"No, not quite." He laughed and shook his head at her. "Actually, I wanted to show you a picture." He told her to wait at the tables, and he went over to the desk. He talked to the man, Porus, for a moment before heading back over to Harlow with a book in hand. Actually, it seemed more like a photo album. Her flipped through it, then held it up for her.
"Recognize him?" He asked, pointing to a photo of a 5 or 6 year old boy. He had dark, curled hair, and the same eyes as Daren. He has little dimples on either side of his big grin. "He's a little older now, but I think you'll know him." His voice had gone cold, losing it's loving warmth.

Frowning at his cold tone,Harlow pulled the photo closer to her and studied it.It didn't take her long to recognize who it was."H-he's the demi-demon!"Harlow exclaimed then looked up at Daren.When she looked into his eyes,she felt the sense of shock growing.Slowly she looked back at the child in the picture then looked at the man before her.Harlow,moving with a fear fueled caution,got up from her seat at the table and moved away from Daren."You related to him aren't you?" she asked,trying to look him in the eyes,but not able to keep his stare for more than a few seconds.He was being more intimidating than she was use to.The spark that had been resting in his eyes earlier was slowly building to an inferno,making him seem even that much more intimidating.

"He's no demon, he's my brother." He practically growled, slamming his hand on the table. "My gods, you were actually talking about killing him. What in Hades has he ever done?" He asked, looking at her with a cold, hard glare. He felt slightly bad about tricking her, but all guilt was overpowered with anger.

Harlow felt tears sting her eyes,but refused to let them fall.This was not the same Daren she had started to love and trust.No this was a frightening side of him she never expected him to have.But Harlow was glad to see it because the pain she had now would only last for a little bit since she had only just started feeling strongly for him.If she had found out later it would have been more devastating.
Taking in a deep breath,she squared her shoulders and glared at Daren."First off,I already told you I would never kill anybody,especially a boy his age!Secondly,he has never done anything to me.I don't know any other reason why God and Lysander,the lead warrior angel, what him killed other than the fact that they think he's a hazard to mankind."she said angrily,hiding her pain.

"How do I know you wouldn't do it? I've met plenty of newly fallen angels. They all will do anything to get back to heaven. How do I know you aren't any different? I want to trust you, Harlow. Believe me, I do. But I don't know how." He ran his hands through his hair, then looked back sadly at her. His eyes bore into hers, but the angry fire was gone. "I just want to protect him."

Harlow glared at him."Have I lied to you at all since I met you?Other than when I said I wan't an angel?No,I haven't.You should have trusted me on my word,but no you just want to stereotype fallen angel's don't you.Well,let me inform you on something,okay!I'm my own person,I'm not the other angels!"Her emotions had her shaking,and it was taking all her will to not let her wings out and fly away as fast as she could."You the sad thing about all of this is?I trusted you this whole time.I haven't tried to trick you or mislead you.I actually liked you,past tense there by the way.I trusted that you wouldn't tell anybody about my secret,I trusted you when you told me you would be there for me in the woods."Harlow stopped her whining with a shake of her head,then very calmly and with no emotional tone said,"Right now I just want you to take me back to Earth.That's the last thing I'll ever ask you to do for me,I promise."

Daren looked at her sadly, then replaced it with a hard glare.
"Maybe I started liking you at some point too. Come on, I'll take you back." He closed the photo album, then stood and walked out of the library, waiting and holding the door open for her. He may be angry, but he was still a gentleman. He would escort her all the way back to campus. Though he resolved in his mind to not say a single word to her all the way.

Harlow stayed silent as they walked wondering how she could be so stupid as to trust him.Because I thought I had a friend.Someone to stick with me and be there when I needed them.I have no clue why I kept trying to act like this place is filled with people as nice as the soul's and angels in heaven. With a sad sigh she reached up to her necklace and used the crystal to bring her coat back. she put it on to block out the sudden chills that we're going up and down her spine.

Daren looked over at her. He felt a soft flicker of fondness for her, but he pushed the feeling aside. Instead he continued walking in awkward silence. When he reached the door, he opened it for her then clicked it shut behind them. As they walked towards his motorcycle, he felt a sense of worry. Surely she wouldn't want him to drive her back? But they had no other way home. He sighed and grabbed a helmet, handing it to her.
"I know you hate me, but you have no other way of getting back. Unless you want to use your wings, which I wouldn't advise."
He stuck the helmet on his own head, then hopped on the bike. He hit the button, and the bike came back to view. He looked over at her, and then back ahead. He felt like a horrible person. He should have trusted her. His mind had been twisted by Hedone. Well, he was done with the redhead. And he was going to win Harlow's heart back. The trek through the woods had completely changed his mindset.

Harlow took the helmet and said thanks.She then got on the bike but instead of putting her hands on his waist like she had earlier,she put them on her legs.She figured out on the way to the forest that all she needed to do was stay balanced,and she knew she could do that without touching him.

Daren drove back to the parking lot of campus. He pried, got off, and helped her off.
"I would love to help you back, but I'm guessing you can manage so I'll just be off." He waited to get his helmet from her, then turned away and started walking away.

Harlow opened her mouth as he started walking away.She wanted to call him back,to know why he would mistreat her like he did,and to just hold her in his strong arms,but she refused to let herself be put in that vulnerable position again.So she just watched him walk away,before she turned around and headed back to her shack.
Harlow made herself busy when she got back home,cleaning up her room,doing the dishes,and re-cleaning everything that was already clean.When she was done she sat on the couch and stared at the wall,trying to sort things out in her mind.It did take long before she reached her decision.Harlow reached up to her crystal and used it to summon the warrior angel Lysander.When he saw who had summoned him his jaw dropped with shock.Before he could even recover from the shock she said,"Tell them I'll be ready to come home tonight,I'll start my training as soon as I can."

Daren opened the door to his dorm, catching sight of red hair. He inwardly groaned and clicked the door shut.
"Hello, darling." Hedone called from his bedroom.
"Hedone, I'm done. My brother's safe, she was never going to do anything. And it's time for you to leave." He walked over to his room and stood in the threshold. Hedone fixed him with a hard glare.
"Daren, you don't mean that." She walked over and trailed a finger down his jawline. Daren pushed her away, and took a step back.
"No, stop it. Its over. Go." He pointed to the front door. A look of hurt crossed her face, and she stalked over to the door.
"Now Daren, I hope you realize what you're doing. You're making a huge mistake." She told him over her shoulder, then clicked the door shut behind her. He glared at the door, then stalked into his room and threw all the pillows at the wall. He kicked the bed post with a loud grunt, then grabbed his foot in agony. "Sh!+." He groaned, sitting on the bed. The toe would surely be bruised, if not broken. He sighed and pulled out his phone. He dialed a number and hit call, holding it up to his ear.
"Hey mom, is David there? Yeah. I wanna talk to him." He waited for a moment, then grinned when the high-pitched voice of the seven year old spoke into his ear. "Hey buddy! Hows my favorite kid?" He asked, leaning back on the bed. "Oh, I miss you too. But I'll see you soon! Do you know where you and mom are?" He waited, then nodded even though his conversational partner couldn't see him. "I see. Well, I'll se you soon." He smiled again then hung up of the phone. Sighing, he looked at his phone.
"Well, she'll never talk to me again."

Lysander seemed shocked for a couple of seconds then pulled Harlow into a hug."It'll be good to have you back sister."he said and walked to the center of the room."By the way,what color are you wings to?"Harlow tilted her head to the side,confused by his question.
"They're light gray last time I checked."she said.
"Good,good.That means your changing along just find."
"What do you mean by that?So I'm not going to be stuck down here on Earth if my wings go all black?"Harlow asked,hope shading here voice.
"Harlow,you're a warrior.Even if your fallen no one can take that from you.The reason your wings are going black is because you're one of the warriors the other angels aren't allowed to know about.The black ops of warriors,you could say.We destroy things from Hell even before they can get out." Lysander said grinning from ear to ear.It was obviously something he loved to do.He started to reach up to his crystal when Harlow asked.
"Okay,I have one last question before you go.Why is the demi-demon to be killed?I met his brother and he's sure the boy doesn't have any demon in him."She asked,wanting to straighten things out.
"You must have heard wrong when you got your orders,or they told you wrong."Lysander said in an exasperated voice."The boy isn't a demi-demon.He's possessed by a demon,a strong one.You were suppose to do an exorcism on him,especially sense this demon is in a gods body,then kill the demon.The boy is to be left unharmed."

Daren finally opened the door. He walked outside and despite the snow, made his way to Harlow's shack thing. He stood outside for a moment, then banged a few times on the door.
"Harlow, I know you don't wan to see me, but I think we need to figure some things out."

Both Harlow and Lysander looked towards the door.Harlow looked back at Lysander and saw that his expression had gone fierce and there was a knife in his hand.Crap!
"There is something off about the male who is calling on you.Do you want me to get rid of him?"He asked,taking a step towards the door.
"No!No,Lysander.Could you,uh,just wait in the other room for a minute?And you're getting a weird feeling because he's a god."Harlow explained as she shoved him towards the kitchen,the feathers from his wings making her nose itch."Just be as quite as possible,please." Harlow went back out to the living room,making sure nothing looked out of order then went to the door.She opened it and motioned for him to come in."Hey."she said quietly .

Daren stepped inside, then turned around quickly and looked at her.
"Alright, before you do some freaky angel thing, let me explain. I was tricked. Well, I guess not really tricked, but I was convinced that you were going to do horrid things to my brother. But, I know now that's not the case. And i really screwed up. But, you're the only girl that has ever made me feel like this. And you can hate me all you want, and I swear on every single one of Porus's books that I'm not lying. Harlow," He paused and took a deep breath, then took his hand in hers, "I dunno what things Eros has going on right now, but I think I'm falling in love. With you."

Harlow was shell shocked by his statement.He loves...me?She shook her head sadly and was about to speak when there was a clatter from the kitchen.Harlow closed her eyes then over her shoulder she said,"Lysander,you might as well come out now."The warrior came out of the kitchen with a glass of water in one hand and the knife still in the other."Daren this is Lysander,Lysander this is Daren."Lysander looked stared at Daren unblinkingly while he took a drink from the glass.Harlow rolled her eyes."You'll have to excuse him,he's a warrior so he's totally arrogant."she said but the affection was clear in her voice.

Daren looked the warrior up and down. He knew he was just being prideful, and he may not be a human man but he was still male. He straightened up and stuck his chin out slightly. His eyes flickered to the knife in the guy's hand, Lysander was what Harlow said his name was, and he took a step away.
"Dude, what's with the knife?" He asked, arching an eyebrow.
