*copy-pastes*

My character:

Name: Laiko
Age: 17
Appearance (undetailed): A little over 1,7m tall, he is pretty much average size. His weight is also average, neither thin nor chubby, though he is reasonably muscular. His hair is a dark, golden blonde with natural dark highlights and his skin has a slight brownish tinge, as though he had once had a pale complextion, but it had been tanned out of him. His eyes are a dark forest green with a yellowish tinge, and with some flecks of lighter shades, yet their colour seems to change slightly from day to day.

(( I hate to put it down, simply because I am me, but Laiko is supposed to be rather good looking. Razz *nods* There is actually a reason why this awful crime (of Polo's rule books) must be committed... You might see at some stage, depending on how the RP goes. Razz *nods* ))

Astraia stumbled out of the car. one she was too small to get out in a nice fashion and two she was juggling her bag she didnt want to drop, headphones hse didnt want to loose and her book she was halfway through and didnt want to loose the page. As her feet tough the ground she spun round and brushed herself of after the long journey. You see Astraia had just moved from high up in the mountains to lower in the valley and right next to the beach. There were still the odd moutain where they live now, but they didnt live right up high in them and would be much easier for them all. Astraia stumbled along the path occasionally falling of it as she walked and read her book. She looked up once or twice just to check she wasn't going to walk into something, like the wall of the house. She had walked into things in the streets many a times as all she was ever doing was walking with her head stuck firmly inside a book. If you asked her how many she had read, she would be able to tell you them all by name, though you would be there for hours. She had enough to feed a libary in her own room. Astraia made it to the door just as she had finished a chapter, so she put a mark on the page and closed up the book. She took on step into the new house and sighed. She prefered the samller moutain house. This was too huge and open, she hated it. She headed up the stairs to her future room and dumped her bag. She head back down the the empty rooms and strolled out into the garden. The whole place was over grown, wild flowers grew everywhere and the grass was almost up to her waist. This place had been left empty for too long now. She headed out into the garden and let her hands brush along the grass as she walked. She took in a deep breath of air filled with the sent of grass and a hint of lilac flowers mixed in. She found a deserted little area away from the house right at the back of the garden and sat down in all the plants. No one would be able to see her out here, unless they came from the back and climbed the fence. She sat and looked up into the sky daydreaming while listening to music.

Laiko's breath left his lips into the crisp, early morning air like a burst of steam, the moisture in his breath instantly condensing the moment it touched the cold air to create the opaque illusion he saw before him. Although, Laiko did not seem to be thinking of such trivial things at that moment - for he was sprinting as fast as his legs could carry him, and panting so violently that he might have been compared to a steam engine at first glance.
The air was damp with the mist that came with the evaporation of early morning dew, and Laiko soon found beads of moisture clinging to his eyelashes - blurring his vision, and a heavy dampness forcing his ordinarily bouncy and fluffy hair to lie damp and still - giving him an uncharacteristic likeness to a tall blonde mushroom.
Laiko cast an urgent glance behind him, his forest green eyes gleaming brightly as they attempted to seek out his pursuer. A smug smirk crossed Laiko's face as he realised that he had lost him, at least for now, and that he could probably get away if he could just find somewhere...
There!
The big house had been abandoned for as long as Laiko could remember, so he guessed that nobody would mind if he took refuge there just once. In his urgent desperation, Laiko did not even notice the big removal truck outside the house. He dashed straight at the big fence, stating to panic slightly as he neared it and realised he hadn't left enough time to slow down.
Laiko braced himself for the collision - closing his eyes and turning his head away - but the collision never came. Instead, what he felt was the strange sensation of his limbs acting of their own accord, responding to muscle memory to cause his feet to push off from the ground. Laiko was surprised, as he had no recollection of ever having vaulted over such a high fence before in his life, but this sort of thing had happened before so he simply went with it and used it to his advantage. The cold wind bit viciously at his cheeks as he darted upward toward the top of the fence, and Laiko instinctively reached out one hand to grab the top, using it to propel his legs sideways over the top, then drop to the ground on the other side, landing in a roll he didn't know he could achieve to break his fall.
Laiko stayed crouched as he hit the ground - completely hidden by the grass except for the top of his head which stuck out in telltale golden fluffiness as the soft strands slowly began to dry out with the absence of the mist. He took a brief moment t catch his breath, then straightened and dusted himself off, looking around. A yell of surprise burst from his mouth as he saw a girl sitting in the all grass beside him. He jumped slightly in shock, and the reaction caused him to lose his balance - his feet sliding out from under him and sending him skidding to the ground where he landed on his rear with a dull thump. Laiko tilted his head questioningly to one side, almost like a begging puppy, and regarded the girl curiously through bright green eyes. At first he wasn't sure what to think, but then it occurred to him that this girl might be part of a new family to own the house. Now he thought about it, he had heard a rumour saying that the house was to be inhabited, but he had never really expected it to be true... A hot flush added to the colour on his cheeks as Laiko realised his mistake, and he ran a hand through his hair awkwardly, causing it to stick up in all directions with a casual untidiness that somehow suited his face, which by now bore an apologetic grin. "Oops!" He exclaimed with a laugh. "Sorry to barge in like that... I didn't expect anybody to be here." He admitted with a sheepish grin, his words slightly awkward. Laiko got up again and dusted himself off, ridding his clothes of the moisture that now clung to them. "You've just moved here, right?" He questioned cheerfully, seeming to already have forgotten that he was trespassing - and running from somebody - in his desperation to give the new girl a welcome. "I'm Laiko." He informed her with a friendly grin, offering his hand. "Might I ask your name?" He added kindly.

Astraia tapped her hand gently on the ground to the beat of the music, if someone spoke to her she wouldnt have heard them, she was in to deep. Daydreaming and listening to music always block the free world from her mind. You would have to phyiscally remove her headphones to get something out of her. But the chanes of her being nice to you after doing so would be zero to one.
Astraia led down in the grass and stared up into the cloud filled sky. She watched as they slowly passed over, changing shapes as the rolled away or as parts of them vapourised. The sun was beging to rise up over the mountains, filling the sky with an orange glow. She sigh and sat up. Her parents would want her to help with the move. Though she wouldnt be doing much as they had paid for the removals guys to bring the furniture in and help arrange it all. Before they had moved they had an interior designer come and re-paint the whole place. And then others to come and clean it ready for them to move in straight away. They werent bothered to much about the garden as her mother was a professional gardener and would do it all herself.
Astraia would have to go and help the guys arange the furniture for her room and study. She stood up and was about to go insed when out of the corner of her eye she saw a guy standing and looking at her. She jumped back a little out of surprise, he hadnt been there early and no way had she seen him come up the garden. She gently removed her headphones and spoke "Why are you in my garden?" she excalaimed "If my parents catch you, they will string you up by your ears, you best leave and pronto at that too." She put her headphones round her next and walked away into the house, she didnt have the time to be messing around talking to guys. She would have to have her room sorted before lunch time which only gave her around 3 hours. Before she walked in the door she glanced back to where she had been sitting, but saw nothing, he was either well hidden or had left as she had walked of. Astraia didnt have the chance to look at his face properly and remember it, she was still in the dream like trance from the long car journey.
When Astraia got inside she found the removel guys already waiting for her, she gestured for them to follow her and ran up the stairs towards her room. Hoping they would see where she went. She popped her head out the door way to see them coming towards her. She already new how she wanted her room and therfore, hopefully would take that long to arange. She directed them to where and how she wanted each piece of furniture that arrived up to her room. It took the guys about 5 minutes each time to go fetch the furniture and bring it up, and then a further 2 minutes or so to place it in the correct position. It took them just under 2 hours to complete, and moved onto the study. All that had to do in this room was bring up the desk which had wheels so she could change and move the room around herself as often as she liked. And then a huge floor to cealing shelving to store her books, the rest went in her room with there own wardrobe. The rest of the belongins to the study where in boxes, of stuff she had collected over the years to make her study peaceful and to her own liking. Where as her room was always spotless and always stayed the same, her study was forever changing. The boxes shortly arrived in there correct places after her furniture and rooms had been sorted. Her boxes were to be opened later, but for now she had finished her rooms with the furniture and made her way downstairs.
Astraia's father greeted her in the hall as he was walking from room to room with ornaments, his boxes must have gotten mixed up she thought. when he came out of his office space her spoke to her. "Your mother is waiting for you in the kitchen" and then disapeared before she could reply.
Astraia made her way through the house and all the doors untill she found what was the kitchen. her mother was stood with her back to the door and was rumaging around. "You wanted me mother? i am here" She asked and stated. She didnt even turn around as she was a little to busy. "I want you to go find a supermarket or food shop and buy us something for lunch, please hun, Get the money of your Father, he has some change on him." She carried on doing whatever it was that she was doing. Astraia walked back out of the kitchen and went to find her father. It was rather difficult as he was wondering around like a lost sheep, but she soon managed to find him and get the money from him. She grabbed her book from the small telephone table in the hall, put her headphones on and walked out the door.
As she got to the street she had no idea where she was going. Astraia looked both ways down the street and picked which one looked like it would lead to shops, hoping that the way that most passer byers were heading to the town center, where se would find shops, also.

"Oh, sorry, I..." Laiko trailed off, forsaking what was supposed to have been a long-winded speech of excuses and explanations. Even though she had questioned him, the girl had turned away and was now flouncing off without giving him an opportunity to answer. At first it struck him as rather strange that she should show so little interest in his unannounced appearance in her garden, but as the initial shock wore off, the facts slowly began to sink in. She had said, after all, that her parents would be upset. He supposed they would be, and not without valid reason. He was trespassing, after all. Suddenly feeling rather guilty, Laiko shrugged off the chance meeting and vaulted skilfully back over the wall, landing on the other side just as a tall, handsome boy walked past. "Laiko!" He exclaimed, his face splitting into a grin. "I found you!" He crowed jubilantly, tugging Laiko into a headlock and giving him an affectionate noogie. "Mike, get off me!" Laiko complained with a laugh, trying to shove his friend away. "You lose!" He rhapsodized, flicking Laiko's forehead before releasing him. "That means you'll need to do my homework for the rest of the week!" Mike concluded with an ecstatic grin. Laiko groaned, slapping his hand to his forehead in mock horror. He did not really mind doing Mike's homework... He didn't mind work... Only he wished Mike would do it himself, as his marks would be more likely to improve with the extra practice. Still, no matter how often he told Mike that, nothing ever changed...
Suddenly, a loud, high-pitched beeping noise shattered the silence, and Mike glanced down at his digital wristwatch. The luminous green dials were flashing as it yelled its urgent reminder to its wearer. "Oh! I've got football practice - gotta dash! See you, Laiko! And if my homework isn't done, I'll set Kevin on you!" He warned with a mischievous grin, already jogging backwards away from Laiko. He paused to blow his friend a kiss, at which Laiko shook his head in exasperation, though he could not help but let an amused smile twitch his lips. Then Mike turned away with a cheeky grin, and was about to run in the opposite direction when something he saw froze him in his tracks.
Mike's eyes seemed to goggle out of his head and his mouth dropped open as he watched the girl walk past. Laiko groaned and instantly began to jog over to collect his troublesome friend.
Mike followed the girl - seemingly drawn to her like a bear to honey, yet doing nothing to disguise the way he was gaping at her in awe. As he reached her side, he tapped her on the shoulder, then stepped out in front of her, blocking her path. "So..." Mike began, wiggling his eyebrows alluringly, yet merely managing to look like a drunk clown. "Did it hurt when you fell from Heaven? With eyes like yours, you must be an angel - for they shine like a thousand frozen raindrops." He said softly, bowing slightly before her and reaching out toward her hand. "May I interest you in a lunch, my dear lady? Or perhaps some coffee?" Mike asked, seeming for all the world as though he was a terrible actor from a bad romance flick of the late 1800s.
Laiko had to stifle his laughter as he slowly made his way over toward the scene. He hung back slightly - a little wary of throwing himself into the middle of things when Mike had most probably instilled extreme annoyance in the girl. He didn't want to get the blame... Why Mike couldn't just learn from his mistakes... Laiko was always having to get him out of trouble. He really was quite a fool... Perhaps the only problem was that he just didn't care...

Astraia walked down the path bobing along to the music, while also reading her book. Every now and then she would glance up to make sure she was still heading in the right direction and not into any obsticals. She was about to change her music album when someone tapped her on the shoulder and then blocked her path. Great thats all she needed, Astraia thought to herself. He began speaking and was acting like a fool. She pulled her headphones of and let them hang round her neck. She only caught some of what he was saying, as her music was too loud to hear the beginings of it. She rolled her eyes at him. "Why are you acting like such a fool?" She asked and gave a sideways glance to the guy hanging in the back, she gave him a sligh smile and gave her consentration back to the wierd guy in her face. "Nope im going to get my own thanks i dont need your" she paused and gave him a look "Help" she finished and tryed not to laugh at him. Astraia shook her head at the guy in her way "Your such a idiot, no wonder you look like that, what with all those girls slapping you in the face and whatnot. Your lucky i didnt slap you as well" She smiled to herself and gave the other guy a look too. "Hey werent you the one in my garden earlier?" She asked him and took all consentration away from the wierdo and had turned fully to the other guy standing a little way back. She gave him a soft smile. This time she actually looked at him. He was pretty good looking if you asked her. He ahd the kind of blond hair all the girls would die for, and the most amzing green eyes. Now why hadnt she noticed him earlier? she thought to herself and tryed not to laugh. "Hey i dont suppose you live round here do you?" She asked the tall blond completely ignoring the other guy.

"Mike.." Laiko muttered warningly, "Back off..." But Mike ignored him, merely glaring, making shushing gestures with his hand and mouthing 'You're messing up my vibes!' Laiko shook his head in exasperation as Mike turned back to the girl, grinning stupidly as she insulted him and declined his offer. None of it seemed to bother him very much. In fact, his spirits did not seem at all dampened by the harsh rejection.
Laiko gave a helpless shrug as the girl glanced at him, his expression partly amused, partly ashamed and partly apologetic - all on behalf of his energetic friend.
"Oh well, can't win 'em all." Mike concluded with a grin, straightening up and offering a friendly wave. "My name's Mike. I'd wait to hear yours, but I have to go now..." He admitted, glancing at his watch. "Hopefully we'll see each other around." He added with a grin, "I won't let you avoid me forever!" He concluded, though this time there was a slight joking tone to his voice as he winked at her before raising a hand in farewell and jogging away.
Laiko watched his friend leave with a smile, shaking his head in fond exasperation. Mike just never changed... Though in a way, Laiko was glad. Infuriating as he could be at times, life simply wouldn't be the same without Mike's general alacrity in everything he did.
Laiko chuckled softly to himself, then turned his head to glance back at the girl as she addressed him. "Huh?" He asked, frowning slightly. It took a moment, but comprehension soon dawned on him, and then Laiko's expression slipped into a sheepish grin. "Oh... Yes, that was me. Sorry about that... I wasn't expecting anybody to be there, you know... And as that was chasing me," he went on, tilting his head to gesture toward Mike, "I decided to hide there for a moment. Of course, it didn't pay off, since he won the bet, as usual..." Laiko chuckled softly, clearly amused by the thought despite his failure, then he fixed a properly ashamed expression on his face and met the girl's eyes. "I really am sorry, though. It was a most thoughtless thing to do - barging in like that..." He admitted, scratching his head awkwardly. Suddenly remembering her next question, Laiko leaped at the chance to change the topic. "I stay at the boarding school just round the corner." He informed her with a smile, pointing toward the top of the tall roof that could just be seen over the roofs of the other houses in the street. "But Mike managed to drag me out for the afternoon, so here I am." He explained, gesturing vaguely with his hands and laughing slightly. If it wasn't for Mike, he would probably never have left his studies at all... He supposed it was a good thing Mike wasn't too studious after all...

Astraia glanced at the rather annoying guy "You dont got any vibes to mess up" She laughed at him, He really was just an asshole kinda guy, the one that just always wanted girls and nothing else. She sighed and looked back at the blonde. That when the annoying one began talking again. "Didn't think you'd win any to be honest" She gave him a look, as in -dont piss me of or i will eat you- kinda way. "By annoying one, that doesnt deserve a name, and its not like i'd give you mine anyways. You may see me around but it dont mean i will talk, and i can avoid you if i want, now run along and find a twig to knaw on you dog" She laughed slightly and glanced back over to the one left standing.
Astraia was itching to put her headphones back on, she couldnt live without them for too long, but it would just be rude to do that, and that was not how she was brought up. She fiddled with the edges of her book as she stood, slightly nervous waiting for him to reply. "Its okays really, but if my parents had seen you and me, they would have flipped the roof, They dont like me mixing with guys really" She shrugged one shoulder and realsed her galnce from his for a bit. " he is just a bit of a loser if you ask me, but i guesss hes your friend and you can obviously put up with him". A confused look came across her face as his suddenly turned from laughing to ashamed. ANd only when he spoke she realised why. "You dint know i was there, so its forgotten, and you weren't really barging in. I hadnt even noticed. You could have dissapeared again without being seen if you had thought about it, and i would have never known you had been in there" She smiled softy to him. She didnt really care that he had barged in, she just didint want her parents finding him as they would eat him alive if they did. On that note she turned and looked at the house, or rather in the direction of the house, hoping her parents wouldn't come out to find her. She looked back at him as he just started speaking. "Thats good" She smiled " I need help finding my way around here, i have no clue what, or where im going. I need to find a shop where i can buy something for lunch, for me and my parents. You see we have only just moved in, so we have no food in the house yet, and i dont know my way around here, would you mind helping me find my way alittle, if thats no problem and all, you know with school and that, do you have time?" She was just rambling on in her nervous chatter, hoping he would keep up with her fast paced talking.

"Well, that's probably a good thing with stalkers like Mike around!" Laiko joked with an impish grin. "No, Mike's not too bad, really. He's a good guy - he just has a little too much energy I guess. But hey, he's helped me out more times than I can count, so who am I to complain? Anyway, he shouldn't bother you again now. Infuriating as he may be, he always knows when to abandon a suit." Laiko amended, a friendly smile on his face. He gave a mock cringe at her next words, then replied in a slightly sheepish tone, "Well, I'm glad you aren't upset, and I think you for that. It was a rater idiotic thing to do, after all... But hey, can't win 'em all, right?" Laiko concluded, quoting Mike's words with a playful grin. Laiko turned his head and followed her gaze as she glanced toward the house. He wondered vaguely what her parents were like... Why they had come here... He frowned slightly in concentration as he attempted to develop theories. Perhaps her father was a writer...? But in that case, surely he'd be more likely to move somewhere more... Remote? Perhaps not... Maybe a lawyer? Though if he was, Laiko expected they'd be living somewhere a little more 'built-up' and probably in a mansion, too. Well, he supposed he could probably never guess, and it didn't really matter much. He'd find out in due time if he was meant to. Perhaps he'd ask at some stage... For now, however, he would simply settle for welcoming the new girl. He remembered only too well how Mike and Kevin had welcomed him when he had arrived, and he shuddered to think how tough it would have been without them. Then again, his circumstances had been extenuating... His gaze still lingering on the house, Laiko's thoughts fluttered back to the parents housed within. There were times when he wished he could remember his own parents... Were they even alive? Did he even have parents...? Well, unless he was some form of alien, he supposed he had had parents, at least at some stage. Laiko had to stifle a chuckle at this thought when he suddenly became aware of the girl's presence again. She seemed to have just started speaking. Turning back to face her with a pleasant smile, Laiko listened politely to what she had to say. "Whoa!" Laiko exclaimed with a chuckle, holding up his hands as if to ward off the rapid torrent of words. "Relax." He advised her with a gentle smile, "Of course I'll show you around, though I must warn you I don't know the area too well myself. Still, I'm sure that between the two of us we'll manage to work it out. Thankfully, I do know where we can find a shop. I'll take you there now if you like." He offered, gesturing with his head in the direction of the shop, his fluffy blonde hair slipping down over his eyes with the movement. He flicked it out of his face, then glanced back at the girl with a kind smile. In fact, there was seldom a time when Laiko was not smiling. It was a wonder his cheeks could take the strain...

Astraia back up alittle as the guy was trying to show her the way. She glanced abck at the house again. Should she risk it and go with him? Or would she get caught? Her parents were properly worried about her right now, or the fact that she had taken a while. But she didnt even know where anything was, she would just have to explain that to them. She glanced back at the house once more and then back to him and sighed "I dont think this is a good idea, if they come past in the car or anything, We will both be in trouble and my father would go to your school and complain. Just show me where the shop is and then leave, sorry" She looked away from him slightly embarrassed about what she had said, and still nervous that she would get caught. She turned her music up load enough so that she could hear it with out putting the headphones on,and so she could also here him if he spoke. She held back still, clutching her book to her chest. She still wasnt sure if this was the right idea. She was homeschool for the reason of guys, and if she started hanging around with them again, The same thing that had happened to her before could happen to her again. But he didnt seem like that sort of guy, maybe if he got to know her parents it wouldnt be so bad, however they would hate it and it was never likely to happen. She had to be carefull. She had just moved away and left two of her best freinds behind, and her boyfriend, who was now just a close freind. He was the only exception as her parents knew his and they were a well of family, and he was brought up to be a gentelman.
She sighed and took a step forward. she reframed herself from slapping her own face and began walking. "I shouldnt be doing this" She mumbled out loud, just a fact to herself.

"Oh..." Laiko replied, finding himself slightly surprised for a moment. He soon regrouped, however, and managed a pleasant reply. "Well, don't worry about it, I should probably be going anyway." He said with a shrug, smiling pleasantly at her. "You just walk down the street and turn left when you reach the crossroads. You should see the shop right there." He explained, gesturing with his hands as he spoke. He stepped away as she began walking off, not wanting to harm her cause in any way. Watching her leave, Laiko wondered vaguely about what she had said. Her parents must be rather strict to keep her on such a tight leash... Well, he was sure they had their reasons, though he could not help but wonder what those reasons were... Reminding himself that it was none of his business, Laiko raised a hand in farewell to the girl, then turned away. He began to walk slowly back in the direction of the school, enjoying the warmth that began to seep into his limbs from the rising sun. It really was a beautiful day... He was glad he had gotten out for once. Really, he did spend far too much time indoors... And playing sport was just not the same. He didn't really enjoy it much... That was Mike's game... Laiko was feeling peacefully content and rather sleepy when, suddenly, he felt a flash of something like DejaVu.

How, he wasn't sure, but suddenly Laiko sensed that something was about to happen. Not only that, but it was as though his senses had detected the danger and his muscles had prepared to initiate the correct response without him even thinking about it. Okay, so he knew about muscle memory, but this was too much... Barely aware of what he was doing, Laiko spun around as though in slow motion and yelled "Get down!" Covering the short distance between himself and the girl in a quick sprint, Laiko dived at her - attempting to tackle her to the ground just as a gunshot rang out. Time seemed to stand still in that moment, yet at the same time, Laiko felt no sense of danger. Somehow, though he had no clue how, he knew he had evaded that shot. The knowledge that filled his mind now he did not recognise to be his own. Calculations he had never made combined with knowledge he had never gained told him exactly where the bullet would land, where it had been shot from, what gun had shot it, and when it had been shot. He had experienced these flashed of DejaVu... This inexplicable knowledge... All of this, he had experienced before, but never quite like this... Of course, impossible as it was, considering his circumstances it made perfect sense. Unfortunately, the 'sense' only brought up a billion more questions as opposed to answering those he already had...

Astraia gave him a confused look, what was he doing he was supposed to be walking her to the shops. And now she had just caused him to run and hide. She was such an idiot at times. She didnt even get a word in edge way. It was to late he had already started walking of. She sighed, turned round and began walking of in the direction to the shops. She shoved her headphones over her ears, music blaring full blast and then picked up her book and started from where she left it. So much for much for making a new friend, rang out loud in her mind, she couldnt concentrate on the book for once, her thoughts always going back to him. she stopped reading and just bobbed along to the music as she walked.

It all happened to fast then, one miute she was walking along and the next she found herself tackled to the ground. She spun round to see whoever it was that had done it, to find him. She slapped him round the face. "What the hell are you doing!" She shouted at him and struggled to get up. She pulled her headphones of and gave him a dirty glare. What the hell did he think he was doing! just tackling her to the floor for no reason! He ought to be ashamed of himself. She tryed to push him away, but she was to weak and small to push his 1.7m hieght and weight of off her. "Would you mind getting of me" She gave him a hard push by his shoulders in am attept to move him, but failed, She sighed and then lay back onto the ground.

Laiko flinched as she slapped him, and hurriedly scrambled away, rubbing his cheek. He had seen Mike get slapped plenty of times before, but it had never happened to him... It hurt. He hadn't expected it to hurt this much... In fact, it was almost funny. Laiko shook his head as he felt a laugh jump to his lips. What on earth was he thinking?! There was nothing funny about this! A sudden sense of urgency washed over him, and for a moment Laiko thought that he would panic, but it did not take him long to realise that doing so would not help the situation. They had to get away... In case the shooter tried again... Though something told Laiko that he would not risk it now that they, or at least he, was aware of the shooter's presence.
"I-I'm sorry!" Laiko stuttered, raising his hands in surrender and shuffling backwards away from her. "It's just - didn't you hear it? - There was shooting, and-" Okay, so much for keeping calm... He was making absolutely no sense now. Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves, Laiko tried again. "I'm sorry, I really am. But I had to do it... Well, maybe I didn't, but I heard shooting, and I was worried you'd get hit and- Ugh, what on earth am I doing?! You have to get inside - fast!" He said urgently, quickly getting to his feet and offering his hand to help her up. "I don't know what's going on - but it's not safe out here. I'll call the police and let them know... Try find out what's happening..." He trailed off, biting his lip to keep himself from babbling. He had just been shot at... What on earth had he done wrong?! If only he could remember... Or maybe they'd been shooting at her? Well, it was possible... But he had a feeling that the odds on him were higher... And he had the bullet scars to prove it. Though why, he still had no idea.

Astraia stood up slowly and brushed herself down. She gave him a hard expression. He was such an idiot and deserved that slap, but why was he laughing. That realy annoyed her. She pulled her phone out her poket and began texting someone, it read. Please come and get me i need you, miss you x She put it back into her pocket and then faced him again. Just as she was about to shout some more at him, he began speaking his apoligies. Well atleast he had some manners and it calmed her down a little as well. And then when he carried on speaking she almost collapsed with the sudden shock. Astraia took a step towards him and took a deep breath to calm herself, they didnt need both of them in a huge panik one of them had to be responisible.. "Okays lets just calm down okay, Here take my phone and ring them, we dont want this to happen again, and risk people getting hurt." She handed him her phone. "Yes we need to get inside somewhere, the shops is a good place, plus i still need to get food" She grabbed him by the arm and dragged him along towards the shop in a hurry. "And no i didnt here anything, i had my music too loud" She blussed slighty, "Im sorry for slapping you, i just didnt know what you were thinking, but i guess you did the right thing, so i am truly sorry about that. I wouldnt normally to that, you kinda left me no choice, since you were kinda squishing me. Im only small after all" She smiled slightly. So much for staying clear of guys, though her parents wouldnt care as long as they told them what had happened. Then they would also get involved with it, and possibly like him for saving their daughters life, if it was her that was being shot at. They would find out sooner or later, but first she had to get food for them.

Laiko breathed a sigh of relief at her words, instantly relaxing. She believed him. He had been worried that she wouldn't, and was extremely grateful that she actually did. It would most certainly not have been good if she had thought he was attacking her or something... Not only wold he feel extremely guilty, but if the school found out about something like that he would surely lose his scholarship, and what was he supposed to do then? Still, even if that had happened, he would not have regretted it. After all, what if the bullet had hit her? Nothing was worth risking a life... Laiko glanced up as he registered her words, taking the phone she offered him. "Thanks." He replied simply, flashing a kind smile. He punched in the number of the police station, then held the phone to his ear. It rang a few times before the line crackled into life and an official-sounding voice answered. "You've reached the police station - how can we help you?" It asked, seeming somewhat bored. "I'd like to report a shooting." Laiko replied calmly, "It took place on Lake Street, 546 meters from the start of Hayden Road." He went on, surprising himself slightly with the accuracy of his calculations. How on earth did he know that...? "It happened exactly 1 minute and 45 seconds ago." Laiko concluded, then fell silent to listen to the achingly loud silence on the other end of the line. "This had better not be a false call, sir, or you'll be spending a night in the trunk." The woman on the other end warned threateningly. "It's the truth." Laiko confirmed firmly. "Very well." She replied, "Then we'll send somebody out to have a look around right away. Meanwhile, try to stay somewhere safe and keep all windows and doors locked." She advised, already starting to sound bored again. Laiko thanked her, then cancelled the call and handed the phone back to the girl.
"All right, the shops it is, then." Laiko replied somewhat cheerfully, allowing himself to be dragged in the right direction. "And don't worry about it." He added in response to her apology, a gentle smile playing at his lips. "Any intelligent person would have done the same." He assured her kindly, "I'm just grateful that you believe me - seeing as how you didn't hear it yourself." He admitted, his expression sobering slightly as his tone became more serious. That could have ended truly badly for him... Laiko let his thoughts drift as he wandered along next to the girl. He was surprised at how little the situation concerned him... The initial shock had worn off quickly and now that it was gone, he was perfectly calm and happy once more. It just made him wonder all the more exactly what he had done before to be so used to these sorts of situations.

Astraia smilled at him as she took back her phone, when a text beeped through. She smiled slightly at the text and then replied. She shoved her phone back into her pocket. She set her focus back onto the guy. "well i guess i only believe you as you dont seem like the kind to lie about something like that, and you seemed rather too paniced to be acting, unless your some kind of amazing actor" She laughed slightly. "Plus i may have had my music full blast so you know, i kinda dont hear anything then" She smiled in an impish way, ashamed of the fact that she was always somewhere else and not in the present. Astraia looked up to his somewhat tall 1.7 meter height, he reminded her a little of her ex boyfriend, just the eyes were different, and he was a little taller than him. "Yes but not usualy me, i guess you just kinda scared the hell outta me" she shrugged and gave a slight apoligetic smile. She must have hit nim harder than she thought as there was a slight red mark on his left cheeck where she had given him one. She took a step closer to him. "Now look, i've made your face go all red where i hit you" She grtimaced at the sight. "Im sorry, that was not me at all, i guess the move has kinda kindered my spirits, and caused me to become violent" She sighed and looked away from him. "Yet again im sorry, Mike was the one that needed that not you. That reminds me, i dont think i caught your name yet. Please call me Elora" She gave him a soft, half smile, still slightly ashamed of hitting him so hard. She looked down the street to see that they were almost near the town center, and the shop was coming up the road. She looked at the floor as she walked and then to the book she clutched close. She may have still been in shock from the previous incident, as she was clutching her book pretty hard, her knuckles had become a ghostly white, almost see threw colour, she tryed to relax a little but her mind wouldnt let her. She hoped he didnt see. That reminder her then of her parents. "Oh erm you may have to come home with me and tell my parents what happened, as they will go up the wall if i come home alone, as you kinda, maybe saved my life, i dont know really, and they wouldnt want you to have left me just incase, you never know" She rubbed the back of her head and half shrugged it off.

Laiko laughed as she mentioned the state of supreme panic he had got himself into. It really had been rather ridiculous, especially for him... "Honestly, I think I was more panicked about the slap than the shot." Laiko admitted with a laugh. Though he was being truthful, his cheerful expression made it clear that he didn't really mind, and the gentility in his eyes removed all sting from his words. He smiled pleasantly at her next comment, taking immediate interest in what he had been told. "So you like music?" He asked with polite curiosity, "What sort of music do you listen to?" He added conversationally.
"No, no, please don't worry about it." Laiko said with a laugh, raising his hands as if to ward off her concern. He felt a little embarrassed about all the fuss. It was just one little slap, after all... In fact, it had probably done him some good. "Besides, I'm the one who should be sorry for scaring you." Laiko assured her with a playful grin, "So how about I pass it on to Mike when I see him, and we forget about it for now?" He suggested, a gentle, soothing kindness to his tone which proved that he had now released his tension and relaxed completely.
"Pleased to meet you, Elora." Laiko said simply, though the words sounded formal and cliche even to him. "That's an interesting name. Would you mind my asking of the origin?" He asked curiously. "I go by Laiko, though I don't know if it would count as my name." He added thoughtfully, frowning slightly in indecision, then abandoning his attempts to puzzle it out and turning his attention instead to what she said next. "Of course, that makes perfect sense and I'd be glad to oblige." He replied with a smile, "I mean - I wouldn't feel comfortable to let you walk home alone anyway after this, so I would accompany you, regardless." He admitted with a slightly sheepish grin. He knew he worried too much, but what could he do? He simply tended to be a little overprotective at times. It was in his nature.
Laiko glanced up to see that they had reached the shop. He paused, hovering near the doorway, and turned his gaze to Elora, wondering if he ought to go in with her or wait outside.

Astraia laugh slightly at him, If he was asking her that then he must be willing to stick around for ages, so she cut it short. "I listen to alot of music, most genres but most of what i like is the indie rock and just pop rock. If you want a full detail of it, then just wait till you get to mine, you will see all the music i like then" She smiled at her comment.
Astraia took a step back as he raised his hands, "Are you sure its fine? it dont look it to me" she grined just a little messing but also trying to care for him, she really didnt mean to slap him, it was the first time she had ever slapped someone without a real reason to do so. "Nah, no harm done, i am easily scared when im listening to music, which is pretty much all the time" She laughed slightly. "Sure as long as you hit him pretty hard from me, thats good" She smileda t him in a jokeing kinda way.
"It was nice meeting you too Laiko. Haha its nothing special, its English actually just a shorted version of the name Elanora" She laughed at the fact he though that name was odd. She didnt give him her first name, as she disliked it and only a few people new her real name. "Why is Laiko not your name, or that you dont really think it is? why is that?"
She sighed she didnt really want her parents too see she had been hanging around with a guy. But he had potentially saved her life, So they had no choise but to meet him. It was going to be rather a hard time. "That is good, though it wont be overly pleasent. I am glad you think so. It nice to have people like you around" She gave him a simple pleasent, thank you smile. She almost had the urge to hug him, but thought better of it, They had only just met after all.
Astraia went ahead into the shop, but paused as he did also, "Your not coming in with me?" She asked, or rather more stated and gave a hint to say -stop lurking around and come with me. She gave him a smile as she waited for him to decide what he was doing, and if he didnt want to go in then she would attempt to drag him with her. She didnt want to be left alone not after what had just happened and the fact that she had never been in this shop before and would need help finding the right food isle.

"Oh... Sure I will." Laiko replied, smiling slightly and stepping into the shop, pausing briefly to glance around before starting off toward the food isle. He was rather pleased that she seemed to enjoy his company. He hadn't been particularly keen to wait around outside anyway. He didn't much feel like standing still, as the final dregs of adrenalin were still lingering in his veins, giving him just a little more energy than he was used to. Laiko glanced over at Elora then, flashing a quick smile before he continued the conversation he had left off. "I don't remember my name." He explained simply, speaking as though he was stating something as simple as 'the sky is blue', despite the fact that what he had just said was distinctly abnormal, and he knew it. "And, since I didn't have a name, everybody simply started calling me 'Laiko', since I was found with a piece of paper with those letters on it. After that, I guess it just stuck." He explained with a shrug, clearly not too concerned by his strange words. "Anyway, my boring life story aside, I'm really glad you like having me around... That's a very nice thing to say, and I thank you." He said with a pleased smile. "Hopefully your parents will have a similar opinion." He added with a teasing grin, "Because I'm honestly not sure how many more slaps my face can take!" He winked at Elora to show he was joking, then gestured for her to follow and began making his way through the throngs of people toward the food isle. He hadn't been to this shop many times before, since he never really had anything to spend, but he had accompanied Mike or Kevin from time to time, and as his memory was generally pretty good, ironic as it may have been, he tended to remember the way around relatively well.

Astraia smiled as he stepped into the shop. She watching him closely as they began walking around the shop. She felt like she had to hold onto his arm, there were to many people taller than her and it made her feel like a small child again. She walked rather close to him feeling protected by his megre size. Her hand brushed his a few times as she tried to avoid the enclosing people and had to dart out there way as they wernt paying much attention. As he began speaking she looked up at him and gave him a smile of regonition. "Oh okay thats fair enough, i guess. Ah okays, make sense to me" She smiled at him not sure what to say really, was she supposed to ask him what had happened? would it hurt his feelings talking about it? Whatever really happened she didnt want to ask she felt like it was just probing. If they were good friends in time she would find out, but right now was not the time. "Hey no sweat, i just moved here and its great that i have already met someone as kind as you" She gave him her sweet innocent little child grin. Though to be honest she was no sweet and innocent little girl. Astraia almost chocked on her own saliva. If she were drinking it would have sprayed everyone in the shop. She laughed and then began speaking. "My parents wont like it much, actually they wont abide by it at all. I guess we will just have to try and convince them otherwise, im not letting them ruin another friendship" The last part was more a state of mind, but she spoke it out loud. But were they really friends could she say that already? They had only just met. Though already she felt like they had know each other for a little while longer. "They wouldnt slap you, they would grab you by your ear and litterly kick you out the door and then i would be forbid to see you, for ever, and they would tell the school to not let you anywhere near our house, and trust me they can do and get what they want." She smiled at his attempt of joking, but she was not joking one bit, she had seen them do it once before. She follwed him without question, and soon they were at the checkout. She knew exactly what her parents would eat and had picked up some baguettes for each of them. She felt bad not getting one for Laiko, but she would give him some of hers as she never really ate a whole one anyways. She smiled at him as they waiting in line, and wished the the dam slow checkout ladie would speed it right up. SHe hated waiting in places like this it made feel small and insignificant. Though stood with Laiko made it all a little better to endure.

"Oh dear, it seems this will be quite a challenge indeed!" Laiko replied with a laugh, considering what she had just said. He was quite glad that she considered him a friend. After all, though they had known each other literally an hour at most, and probably closer to half an hour, actually, he had already decided that he liked her. She had the sort of kind, fun personality that was easy enough to get along with. That, together with the fact that he really enjoyed her company, had instantly made him decide that they were, in fact, friends. Then again - he had always been quite quick to forge friendships, having never suffered the betrayal and hurt that he had heard often went with them. He simply hadn't experienced it in the few years that he could remember, so what reason had he to distrust anybody? He supposed it was probably not in his best interest to trust first and question later as he always did, but that was simply the way he was, and why should he not be? "Well, I'm sure I'll manage to win them over somehow." Laiko assured her with a kind smile, "Though I sincerely hope they don't phone the school. Principal Hayden is pretty strict, and I'll be in serious trouble if I lose my scholarship." He admitted with a faint chuckle. It was true that losing his scholarship was what concerned Laiko more than anything. It was, after all, his entire life. What would he do without the free lodging at the boarding house? He hadn't a cent to his name. It was unlikely that he'd be able to get a job, and even if he did, where would he live? He was certainly not going to go to an orphanage, but he didn't much like the idea of living on the streets either... Who was he kidding? He wouldn't last a day.
Giving a soft, amused chuckle at his thoughts, Laiko followed Elora over to the till and stood placidly beside her whilst the lady rang up Elora's chosen items. Once the transaction was complete, Laiko glanced over at Elora and, sensing a slight note of tension about her, offered a reassuring smile before starting to head toward the door - quite keen to put some distance between himself and the noisy, boisterous crowd.

Astraia laughed gently, though he was right it was going to be a challenge, but maybe they had mellowed out from the move, who knew. "Yeah it will be" she sighed. Astraia didnt know how she was going to make this work. Naybe they would just like him anyways. Hes not really the kind of guy your parents dont like. He seemed kind enough and definatly caring. He also held himself pretty well, what with going to boarding that was a little expected. So maybe he could win over her parents after all. Though if they found out he went to boarding school they would like it even more so, as then Astraia wouldnt get to see him that often. "Yes im sure you will" she said and returned a gentle smile. "If worse comes to worse, then i will make sure that doesnt happen" She smiled. Though her parents wouldnt like it much, she would have to try and stop them, if they tried to ruin Laiko's scholarship. After all she did have a darn good reason to still be with him. She didnt particually want to start thinking about that now, they would have to walk by the exact place that it happened. She had tried her best to cover her shock and nerves, but if she didnt keep it together for that last part then she would end up freaking out as they past the area.
Astraia gave a sigh and put it behind her, for now. They had now reached the checkout. She handed over the items and the ladie ran them threw. Astraia glanced up at Laiko just as he gave her a smile, the kind that said dont worry in still here. She gave him a half smile half grimmace, but soon followed him toward the door. They were soon out of the shop, making a hasty retreat from all the midday shoppers. As Astraia step out the door she gave a sigh of releif to be away from that over crowed place. She carried the food in a plastic carring bag in one hanf and clutched her book in the other.

Laiko paused for a moment to take in the sights and sounds of the day as he left the shop. The day was growing older now - the sun high in the sky as it twinkled peacefully down at them, warming Laiko's face as he stared up at it for a moment. When pain struck his retinas, he glanced away and turned his attention back to Elora. "Well, then... Time for the moment of truth!" He joked, winking at her before setting off down the road toward the house. "Could I carry that for you?" He asked politely, gesturing toward the bag she clutched in her hand. Not only did it seem distinctly impolite to make her carry the shopping, but it also seemed illogical, seeing as she was holding the book, whereas he was empty handed. Laiko was slightly nervous about meeting Elora's parents, yet at the same time he was reasonably confident that he would be able to win them over. His people skills were generally pretty good, and besides, he didn't see what sort of threat he might prove... Well, that was not entirely true. He did have people shooting at him, after all. Still, the way he saw it, that was not his fault. Even if it was, he couldn't remember why, so there wasn't much he could do about it, aside from doing his best to make sure nobody was hurt. Then again, perhaps he was simply being paranoid. It was most likely just a common premonition followed up by a confusing co-incidence... Yes, that would be it. He was simply over-thinking it.
Casting his thoughts aside, Laiko kept his attention fixed on Elora, awaiting her reply to his offer.
