((Dude, you suck! Running off on me... Wink I'll probably be sleeping - not worth staying up so late unless you're there, y'know? XD But get up early tomorrow, and we can continue. Razz

Still, enjoy the chocolate tasting! Very Happy ))

Mitch followed obediently as Kelli took his arm and led him toward the bedroom. He couldn't help but laugh at her amusing attempts to get into her sweater withough letting go of him - but eventually he took pity on her, and pulled his hand away. Her fingers found his again in an instant, and he gave her hand a gentle squeeze in response.
She left him at the entrance to the bedroom, and climbed into the bed. He leaned casually in the doorway, watching her with one eyebrow raised.
"If you want to be a sissy, go ahead, but you don't need to sleep on the couch."
He snorted in amusement, shook his head, and walked over to the bed - lifting up the covers and slipping in next to her.
Of course, this was the most logical explanation... But he hadn't even suggested it - because he had doubted Kelli would go for it...
She had surprised him.
"G'night, Kelli." He whispered softly, pulling the duvet over himself, and rolling onto his uninjured shoulder.
His life had become a great deal more interesting that day...
He wondered what tomorrow would bring.

[[Saw it on Tumblr and I had to! Or you could wake up early - 8 or 9 - and I could stay up late.]]

Kelli smiled as Mitch sat down and slid underneath the covers next to her. What had turned out to be one of the most horrifying experiences of her life turned out to be a blessing in disguise. She found her long lost best friend and was here with him. Nothing would ever seperate them now, and even the thought of spending the night away from him was not an option.
She rolled over to face him and sat up, leaning over his body and kissing his cheek. "Good night, Mitch." She smiled and lay back down, so close that her back was touching his. That was nice. It was comforting, and this night of friendship was a better experience than most of her dates had ever been. It was just so good being there with him.
With that last thought, she fell into a deep sleep.

Kelli woke as smoke hilled her lungs, coughing and spluttering and trying to reject the fumes.
Not again, was her only thought. Rolling over, she accidentally flung her arm over Mitch, hitting his ribcage.
"Sorry." She muttered, actually not sorry at all, and sat up, wondering where the smoke was coming from. She could see a bright light coming from the living room and she swore. She'd dropped his lighter in there. How could it have started it, though?!
Angrily, she got up and raced into the living room, watching as the flames danced on the couch where she'd been on just hours before.

[[I'm thinking that the fire started from the dumpster where he hid Carter's body and is spreading through the entire thing of flats?]]

'Scars' (Polopocalypse and Battleaxe) - Mature Content - Page 4 Empty Re: 'Scars' (Polopocalypse and Battleaxe) - Mature Content

Post  Polo trapped in an inkpot Sat Jan 14, 2012 2:40 pm

((But even if I wake up at 9 [8 is not up for discussion] that would be 1AM for you, which means we'd only have an hour or two tops before you crash, and sleep through most of the next day. XD
Better just to RP tomorrow. If you're up at 9, that's around 5PM for me, and I don't mind staying up late, because we just have a stupid gala at school - no actual work - so I'll catch up on sleep Monday night. Smile ))

Mitch grunted and jerked awake when Kelli's arm struck his ribs. He mumbled something incoherent - obviously not happy about being woken up. But then he caught the scent of smoke, and bounced up like a jack-in-the-box!
He got all caught up in the duvet in his haste, and half-tripped half-stumbled clumsily after Kelli as she raced to the next room.
His eyes widened at the sight of the dancing flames, trapping them like rats, and spewing toxic smoke to slowly choke them to death.
He cursed loudly, but stayed where he was, glued to the spot.
It wasn't that he was scared - though he couldn't deny that, deep down, he was... But it was more because of the irony of the situation. Fire had always been an ally to him - a friend, a weapon... To had saved his life numerous times, helped him to get what he needed in life, and it had always been well under his control - like a loyal guard dog.
Now, to be on the other end... For he himself to be trapped in the raging flames... It was like a betrayal. A cold, harsh betrayal... How could the fire have turned against him? He was its master... He was Matches!
But then it occured to him: Maybe... Just maybe... He wasn't Matches any more. Not really.

As the heat climbed up around him, and it became more difficult to breathe, Mitch was reminded of a song he had heard in his youth.

In the beginning, I tried to warn you
You play with fire, it's gonna burn you
And here we are now, same situation
You never listen, I never listen...

All along, people had tried to warn him. The supervisors, Kelli, the old homeless guy from Fifth Avenue... Hell, even the gang had told him he should be more careful.
You play with fire, it's gonna burn you...
But he had never listened - and now, here it was. But he was not going down without a fight!

Finally, Mitch snapped out of his reverie, and grabbed Kelli's wrist. "Come on!" He yelled, dashing forward and pulling her with him. He was nearly blinded by smoke, and the confusing flickers of the flames disconcerted him - making it impossible to find the doorway right away.
He began to cough as smoke filled his lungs, but thankfully he was accustomed to this.
Hearing a loud groan above him, Mitch looked up to see flames licking at the ceiling. The wood glowed bright orange, and sparks fell with bits of crumbly ash to the ground.
There was another groan, and a loud cracking sound, and Mitch's eyes widened. It was going to fall!
He had been trapped beneath a fallen ceiling once before, and he never wanted to remember that! It was time to go.
Thinking fast, he ripped off his shirt, and flung it over Kelli's head. "Keep your head down, and run!" He shouted, throwing an arm around her shoulders and dashing forwards with her. He kept his own head down, too - wincing in fear of the feeling of heavy, burning wood striking his exposed neck. He expected it to come any moment as the creaking and splintering grew louder and louder.
With a growl like a caged beast, he quickened his pace, and slammed his injured shoulder hard into the door. The burning wood splintered with the force of the impact, and the door broke away at the hinges - allowing Mitch and Kelli to burst into the fresh air outside.
But at the same moment, the flames inside the house raged upwards - and the roof came crashing down in a spray of sparks, and an explosion of splintering wood.
Mitch pulled Kelli roughly toward him, and dived - crushing her momentarily, but shielding her from the blast.
Thankfully, he wasn't hurt badly. If he was hurt at all, he didn't notice - because he was on his feet again in a heartbeat, pulling Kelli with him.
He charged out into the street, and as the fire-blindness left him, a horrific sight met his eyes.
"Oh, F**k..." He murmured in hushed awe - staring up and down the street.
Every single building was up in flames... And as the flames devoured them, they began to crumble in a dangerous rain of rubble.
He swallowed thickly, and darted his tongue over his dry lips. The fire was way, way beyond his control. There was only one thing left to do...
"Run." He whispered to Kelli, "Just run, and hope for the best."

Post  Batcat Sat Jan 14, 2012 6:04 pm

[[Dude. I wake up at like 7. I'm really bad at sleeping in. And I have no school on Monday anyway xD And what is a 'stupid gala'? Razz]]

Kelli gasped in horror at the fiery scene around her. Mitch’s house – his pathetic little house that was so humble and comforting – was being devoured by flames, eaten alive. It creaked and groaned in pain, as if it had a voice of its own, but maybe that was just the joint still working at her. Frowning, she regretted having ever snatched the cigarette from Mitch in the first place. Maybe that had been what started the fire.
The thought made her want to sink into the ground and die.
Before she knew it, Mitch had grabbed her hand and was yanking her through the crumbling hallway, pulling her in such a different manner from the night before. The thought of their night together made a blush creep up to her face even in the situation they were in.
You’re being ridiculous, she told herself, sighing at her complete stupidity. Here they were in danger of dying, and she couldn’t get the feeling of Mitch’s warm body full of strength and power sleeping soundly beside her out of her head. There was something really wrong with her.
Choking on smoke, Kelli gratefully grabbed Mitch’s shirt and held it to her mouth, using the fabric as a sort of filter to keep herself from inhaling deadly smoke. Too much of it would surely make her collapse and die – if not from the smoke itself, then the building falling down on top of her.
Realizing that the structure crumbling down on top of the two of them was a very real and very likely possibility, she hurried, forcing her burning legs that longed for rest to pump even faster. She was exhausted, but her body was pumped on the adrenaline of danger. She knew she would probably collapse and fall asleep for a good day after this, but for now, she was wide awake and bushy tailed.
Watching in horror as Mitch slammed his injured shoulder against the door, she prayed that his stitches wouldn’t come out. Hopefully she’d sewn up his arm tightly enough that they wouldn’t – although it wasn’t likely even the hardiest stitches would survive that kind of action.
A burst of sparks and flames behind her caused Kelli to yelp in fright, the force of the flames leaping higher driving her to the ground and Mitch on top of her. The weight of his impact on her crushed her, forcing the breath from her lungs and causing white bubbles to appear in her vision. That couldn’t be good.
But she had no time to register any pain, for Mitch was pulling her up by her elbow – not caring if he hurt her or not, just dragging her with him – and started sprinting down the line of houses.
They were all ablaze with blazing tongues of fire, eating away at the cheap wood and building material. Screams echoed from a few, but most were eerily silent. She suspected that the silent ones were filled with old veteran gangsters, and the wailing ones full of new recruits. Biting her lip, she felt so guilty for them. They didn’t deserve to die this way. Nobody did.
"Run. Just run, and hope for the best."
Kelli couldn’t run. She was never good at running. She would fall and trip, or run out of breath and have to walk.
She supposed this was different, though. She was running for her life now.
So she leaned forward and broke into a sprint, running as quickly as possible, dodging pieces of burning debris that littered the dusty street. People were coming out of the houses, coughing and spluttering and not noticing the fleeing pair, thank goodness. They were all hardy men in their 20’s and 30’s, not too young for the thug life, and not too old that wouldn’t be able to function.
Realizing she was going slower, she focused again on her legs, working to keep each of them pumping quickly, pushing her farther and farther away from the wreckage behind her.
She didn’t stop until she was a good 100 yards into the woods. Stopping, leaning over her knees and panting, she was too light headed to notice if Mitch was beside her or not.

Post  Polo trapped in an inkpot Sat Jan 14, 2012 8:15 pm

((Awesome!!! Very Happy

It's a swimming gala, and it's stupid. XD Haha!

Oh, and you suck for not being online right now. Just saying. Wink ))

Mitch sprinted after Kelli, pushing her onwards whenever she slowed with incoherent shouts of encouragement - but as they finally neared the end of the street, and the end of the gauntlet of fire, he felt his leg give way beneath him, and at first he could not fathom why.
Kelli dashed on as he stumbled and lost his footing, catching himself with his hands before he hit the ground.
With a frustrated hiss, he immediately tried to get up and keep running - but his right leg shook and trembled horribly, and refused to bear his weight.
Mitch glanced back at it with an expression of sheer fury, sweat dripping from his face with the heat of the flames surrounding him. Now he noticed that he had been hurt in the explosion - a massive chunk of flesh had been scraped from his calf by the flying debris. He could almost see the bone...
How the Hell had he not noticed that?!
Now that he had, the pain hit him hard, and he insantly turned his head away and vomited - which only served to make him feel more faint than he already did. The smoke was suffocating him, and he couldn't find the willpower to fight through the pain...

Drawing in a steeling breath, he tried to drag himself forward a short distance, but the progress was too slow, and crawling along the ground was too undiginfying...
Instead he grunted, and heaved himself to his feet despite the pain.
He limped forward, vision obscured by suffocating dots and skin sizzling in the heat of the flames.
I'm not going to die here! He thought viciously - forcing the leg to support his weight, and starting to run again.
It trembled weakly on each step, and he knew that he could fall at any moment, but he pressed on. And on, and on... Until finally, he stumbled into the woods where Kelli waited. Coughing and choking on the smoke in his lungs, he staggered toward her like some zombie from a horror movie. As he reached her, his determination left him, and he promptly passed out where he stood - crumpling to the ground in an unceremonious heap.

[[What is a gala?! And no one is interacting with Shae yet so...]]

Kelli looked over her shoulder and saw Mitch crawling toward her like a dead person. Her heart sunk as she saw his leg. This was not good, no no no...
Rushing over to him, she ordered him to sit down so she could get a good look at the injury. Blood poured from the wound, she noticed. She couldn't do anythhing about that. Mitch already didn't have a shirt on and she'd lost his. But she couldn't let him do this...
Quickly, she yanked off her jacket - again revealing the lacy camisole, although the circumstances this time were way different - and tied it around his leg, thankful for the long sleeves to knot with. She had nothing else for him, so she sat down beside him and took his hand in hers, and begged him to wake up, tears streaming down her face. She didn't know where to go, what to do, anything. How could she make it without Mitch to guide her?!
Kelli couldn't stop sobbing, but the stood up anyway, hauling the man to his feet by some miracle. She couldn't go very far, though. It was hard enough dragging him to a clump of bushes to shelter him from anything that might pass by.
Lovingly, she traced a finger over his cheek where he lay, covered by a small patch of ferns, and left to find water.

Ah, I see - I'll get to that in my next post. Smile Sorry I haven't been more focused on Sahe - I struggle with group RPs - tend to just interact with one character at a time. Bad Polo. -_-

Are you okay? O.o ))

After a while, Mitch finally came to, groaning and coughing weakly. He could breathe now, he realised - and he felt a fair amount stronger because of it. He sat up and rubbed his eyes with his fists, then glanced around for Kelli.
Where was she?
Come to think of it, how had he gotten here...? She must have dragged him.
He considered this notion for a moment, impressed by Kelli's strength, then returned his attention to the more pressing matter: Where was she?
Cursing under his breath, he heaved himself to his feet with the help of a nearby tree, and limped off in search of her. His leg hurt like Hell - but he could handle it.
It wasn't long before he happened upon a small river, and his eyes fell upon Kelli's back as she bent down to scoop up some of the water.
For a while he just stared, shamelessly enjoying the show, ((Pervy much, Mitch? XD )) then he limped over to her.
"Did I pass out?" He asked with a grunt, sitting heavily beside her, and staring at the water racing by.
He wasn't particularly fond of water. It was too cold, and he preferred the heat... He liked the sea, with all its raging power, but a cold, wet river like this? Not his thing.
Coughing faintly, he picked up a stone beside him, and tossed it into the river, watching as it sunk with a dull plop, and got washed away with the current...

[[I actually could not be better right now Very Happy My mom and I are getting along and I went shopping with my cousin two days ago, and I have a full day of RPing ahead of me! Supposedly I'm not going anywhere! cheers ]]

Kelli jumped as Mitch suddenly plopped down next to her, scaring her to death. She'd been so focused on just escaping and what they would do next it was hard for her not to imagine it was one of Matches' comrades who had found his body, ended him, and came for her. She shuddered at the thought, but finished her drink, hoping she wouldn't get sick.
"Yeah," she answered, "and you should still be passed out."
She felt very aware of herself now. There she was shivering in that cami with spaghetti straps and see-through matterial that clearly showed her bra that barely covered her belly button. He wasn't focusing on that though. He was focusing on her face, and that was nice. He turned away and looked at the river racing by.
It was clear and ice cold, the rushing waters sweeping away and plant or sediment that dared stop there. It made disease less likely in that respect, but it also made it more likely because water was coming from a farther distance.
Sighing, she turned to him.
"What are we going to do?"

Post  Polo trapped in an inkpot Sun Jan 15, 2012 7:47 am

"We're going to run." Mitch replied simply. "Well..." He glanced toward his leg, "Figuratively..." He sighed, and looked up again - staring straight ahead, even though he could feel Kelli's eyes burning into the side of his head.
Finally, he turned toward her, and smiled slightly. "If you think about it, this is a blessing in disguise." He shrugged, "When the gang comes for me, they'll assume I've died in the fire. I might be able to get away..." He trailed off, and his smile stretched to a grin - his dark eyes brightening with hope for the first time in years.
I might be able to stay with you... He added silently - but much as the thought delighted him, he refused to voice something so pathetically soft.
Instead, he explained his motivation for leaving the gang in a different way.
"It's just too much work." He shrugged, "I can't be bothered any more."
With a haughty huff, he picked up another stone, and tossed it into the river.
"We'll fine somewhere to go easily enough. The future's not such a problem... It's the present that concerns me."
Again, he threw his leg a hateful glare.
"If this is going to work, we have to get as far away from Saints territory as soon as possible - 'cause if they see me alive, and especially with you - it's over. But..."
He shrugged, and gestured toward his leg.
That said it all.

((Thank goodness! XD I was so worried about you. :3

And I don't doubt it. Wink I won't be swimming - I can't. I mean, I can keep myself afloat, but I don't put my head under water, and I can't get the styles right... -_- I have no co-ordination, it's not my fault. I was born screwed up. XD ))

Kelli sighed and nodded. "I guess you're right. I do want to get away from them..." She chuckled and stood up, offering a hand to her injured companion. It was going to be hard, the next couple of days, especially for Mitch. How would he get out of there quickly enough? How would they fight an infection if he got one? She found herself wishing for some pain meds for him, but had none. She was cold and wanted some clothes, but that would be impossible. It was about 4 in the after noon. Dusk would be setting in soon. She didn't know if they'd stop or continue going when it got dark out.
A branch snapped a couple yards off, causing Kelli to start and become eerily silent. She starined to listen for any more noises and faintly heard the sound of more steps, obviously trying to be quiet. She squeezed her eyes shut and prayed they wouldn't come any closer, prayed whoever it was wasn't part of the gang.
Oh was she wrong.
The tattered man stepped from the trees. He couldn't have been more than 20, but looked as though he'd had his fair share of trials.
His black hair was cropped short and his dark blue eyes glittered with fire, but she couldn't tell what kind. He was tall and muscular and dirty, covered with cuts and scars and bruises.
When he saw Mitch, his face split into a grin. "Matches!" He called.

((But why so SUBTLE?! D: However would I know? No

I ride. That's quite enough hard work for me, thank you. XD Haha!! ))

Mitch took Kelli's hand, and heaved himself to his feet with difficulty - relying quite heavily on her, despite his best efforts to remain independent.
Finally, he stood shakily, and smiled gratefully at Kelli - though as usual, he didn't bother thanking her.
Just as he was about to start limping away, a sudden shout caught his attention.
"Matches!" The man called, and at first Mitch tensed - but when he recognized who it was, he let his face relax into a smile. Of all the people who could have turned up, calling 'Matches' - this was the only one who wasn't bad news. He was in luck!
"Killer Bee!" Mitch jeered in response, face splitting into a grin now.
"He's okay." He murmured more quietly to Kelli, "We can trust him... I hope."
He limped forward to meet the man, and held out a fisted hand in greeting. Once Blaine ((Yup, calling him Blaine. Razz )) had bumped his fist, Mitch got straight to the point.
"I'm going AWOL." He declared firmly, "I'm leaving the Saints..." His expression made it obvious that he knew what a dangerous plan this was.
To explain his actions, he need only say one thing...
"This is Kelli." He murmured softly, nodding towards her. "Kelli, my friend Blaine."
Blaine knew all about Kelli, of course. Mitch had known him from the start - and even before. They had met on the streets, and Blaine had been taken into the gang shortly after Mitch. Both remembered their times of innocence and hardship, and Mitch knew that Blaine would accept him as Mitch just as well as Matches - if not more so.
That was... Unless his friend's change was more irreversible even than his - but he doubted that. Blaine had been stronger than him from the start - he would not have lost himself so easily...
It was funny, really, the way Mitch's weak will had lead him to become one of the gang's strongest members. Ironic, in a way.

[[Dude, I hate the people that think riding is no work. "All you do is sit on top of a horse and walk around!" Okay, let's see you get up there and do everything then!]]

Kelli sighed in relief when she saw Mitch and the other guy - Killer Bee? - were getting along. That was very good news. Had they not been friends, they'd have probably been led back to the camp at gunpoint or something, considering they had no weapons.
No weapons?
Crap.
She watched the two boys get together in a sort of mini reunion with a tense expression. She still wasn't dure about this. Who knew if he would turn on them? And if he did, would they be able to stop him? She was sure that Mitch would be capable of it, but wasn't sure if he actually would. That would involve seriously hurting one of his only friends. She could only hope her importance outweighed Blaine's.
Kelli nodded and smiled as she was introduced to Blaine, staying in the same spot. She was rooted there by irrational fear of this man.
"Do you have a sweatshirt by any chance?" She asked uncomfortably. She looked and saw Mitch's bare torso, instantly filling with shame. Why could she only think of herself at a time like this?
"For Mitch." She added hatily.
Blaine rolled his eyes and nodded, taking the small duffel and tossing a T-Shirt to Mitch and a sweater to Kelli, who took it gratefully.
"With ya, bro." Blaine said. "Left a couple days ago when I heard they were going to burn that apartment building. Did you ever follow through with that?"
Obviously he hadn't been connected to any sort of civilization recently, or he would have hear the news.

((Thankfully, nobody dares tell me it's no work. XD Haha! But then again, it does help that my horses are totally insane. Wink
Also, they know I'd stab them if they said that. Razz ))

Mitch caught the shirt, and pulled it on, wincing as he lifted his injured shoulder to slip his arm through.
It was considerably worse after busting the door down...
"I followed through." Mitch grunted, straightening the shirt on his muscular chest. It was a little tight around the shoulders, but it would do.
"Seven dead. Boss expected better, as usual." He huffed a snort of grim amusement, then shrugged half-heartedly. "I'm sick of being his weapon. It's f**ked up, man. We were good kids when the Saints found us." This drew a bark of bitter laughter from his lips, and he shook his head. "But enough chat - if we don't get out of here soon, they'll find us. That is..." He raised an eyebrow, "Assuming you're coming with us?"
"It's gonna be slow progress." He added, "I f**ked up my leg in that fire." He nodded back over his shoulder, to where the smoky, orange glow could just be made out through the trees. "And I f**ked up my shoulder f**king up Carter. Bloody Carter..." He growled into silence, then huffed irritably and fell silent.

Post  Batcat Sun Jan 15, 2012 9:05 am

[[Don't pee in Jacuzzis Polo... especially when Abby and Leon are trying to get it on. *has been stalking for a long time*]]

Kelli watched as Blaine tossed Mitch the T-shit, frowning as she saw the busted stitches. Of course he already screwed them up. Of course. Although she wasn't really all that suprised. They were talking about Mitch Reid, the king of messing up.
She snapped out of her thoughts as the sweater hit her face, the cold metal zipper banging against her cheekbone. Sighing, she pulled it on and said thanks to Blaine. If it had been just Mitch and warmer, she would have been happy to go around in that skimpy little outfit of hers all day. But it was getting colder and that other guy had shown up. Blaine. He seemed nice enough, but he could have just been a good liar.
She bit her lip nervously as she considered the situation. They needed help, but could they rely on someone from the Saints? She didn't know, but hoped that they could - because it looked like that was the plan.

Blaine chuckled. "Ah, Carter. Always getting his nose into things he shouldn't. Doesn't care that Matches was placed too high for him. Had to get him and play with f**k with him." Sighing, he nodded. "Yeah, I'll come with you. You guys look like you need help anyway. 'Sides, I've heard a lot about your lady friend I'd like to get to know her." He chuckled and smiled at Kelli, who just arched an eyebrow at Mitch.
Frowning, Blaine, walked over to Mitch and pulled the other boy's arm over his shoulder, supoorting most of his weight.
"Stop eating, Mitch." He complained mockingly. "Either that or stop working out."

Post  Polo trapped in an inkpot Sun Jan 15, 2012 9:27 am

((LMAO!!! XD Did you see the epic typo moment? I nearly died from laughter when Dreameh pointed it out to me. I still feel sick from laughing myself into suffocation. XD

She wrote "No peeping" and I misquoted it as "No peeing", but she thought it was her mistake - so she read my post thinking that I honestly thought she meant 'peeing'... Whenh I went back and read it in that context, I nearly died - because it made even MORE sense than how I actually meant it. XD
Dude. It. Was. HILARIOUS! ))

When Blaine mentioned 'getting to know' Kelli, Mitch raised an eyebrow and retorted, "I've got dibs on her. Find your own."
He flashed Kelli a friendly wink. She seemed uncomfortable, and he couldn't blame her - but he wished he could put her at ease somehow. It would be fine, wouldn't it...?
He allowed Blaine to support his weight with stubborn grumbles of, "I'm fine." And "I can do it myself." - but since he showed no resitance, it was obvious he did not mean it.
He snorted in amusement at Blaire's comment, and shot back, "At least I don't smell like a dirty hobo."
He didn't bother mentioning that he had smelled even worse than that until a few hours ago.
"So I'm thinking we head down to Marslow Heights - there's the abandoned hotel there, I bet we could find a way in. And I doubt the gang will hang out around there..."
He trailed off, and glanced curiously toward Kelli.
Would she stay with him? Find her own place...? He didn't know, but he hoped he would get to keep her. He had missed her far too much for far too long to just let her slip away now...

[[I did. And I was laughing and my mom called up, "What's so funny, child?!" I was like "PEEING BAHAHAHA!!!" I think I scared her away...

And ohmygosh I have this new obesession where I take all my favorite songs and some how incorporate them into our RPs so I have like, twenty different scenarios going on in my head about what's happening. It's funny 'cause two of them have fire xD]]

Kelli frowned at Mitch's comment about dibs. That was irritating. She was a person with thoughts, not just a body. Glowering at him, she wanted to push him into the river, but that would just make things worse. She entertained the idea for a moment though. She would get a lot of satisfaction from watching the self-sufficient gangster flailing around in the roaring waters calling out for help.
Rolling her eyes at the ridiculous notion, she followed the two boys, picking leaves off the trees and pulling them apart until the stem was left and throwing that onto the ground. It kept her hands occupied and distracted her from her growing hunger. The last real meal she'd had was that bowl of cereal in her apartment about a day ago. Did she even eat it? Looking back, she couldn't remember. The only memory that drifted into her brain was the flames, bright white and hot, licking at the walls, her possessions, her life.
Sighing, she tuned out the boys and continued thinking.

Blaine chuckled. "I didn't mean that way, perv." Slapping hihs back, he trudged onward, looking for a point to cross the river, or at least a place where it would narrow to a stream. They walked against the current, traveling north at a relatively slow pace.
"Marslow Heights..." Blaine murmured, then nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me. Why wouldn't the gang be arond there?" He asked curiously. Although he and Mitch had been friends for a while, the Saints found him a while after Mitch. He was still pretty clueless about all the affairs of the gang.

((LMAO! XD It was a special moment. Wink

DUDE!!! I do that, too! XD I've also found a few for this RP already, but the only one I can remember is Victims of Love. -_-

If you have any really good ones that suit the RP, tell me and I'll download them - helps keep me in the right mood. Razz ))

"It's outside our- their territory." Mitch corrected himself, "I mean, I can't promise they won't hang around there, but it doesn't seem likely. There are cops and rival gangs... That's dangerous for us, too - but if we lay low and go with the flow, they shouldn't take much notice of us. Point is, there's bugger all to steal, and a Hell of a lot to lose. Way I see it, Boss ain't gonna think it's worth his while when there are places like Winston that are like cash pinattas ready to whacked open." He shrugged, then glaced toward the river.
"Let's cross here." He suggested, poiting toward a section of the river that was shallower and slower-flowing than all they had seen so far.
He left Blaine to inspect the river, leaning against a tree for support, and turned his attention to Kelli.
"Hey..." He murmured softly, his voice surprisingly gentle. "You okay? You're being pretty quiet..." He frowned at her in concern, limping foward and reaching out to cup her cheek in his rough hand.
His hand was almost as big as her entire face...
The thought brought a fond smile to his lips, and his eyes darted searchingly over Kelli's face.
He just couldn't get enough of her... He would be happy to sit around all day, just looking at her.
He had missed her so f**king much...
He still couldn't believe that this was happening. That he had found her again, that she was with him... It was like something out of a dream.

[[Baha, the one I'm thinking of is called Love the Way You Lie Part 2 by Skyler Grey. It doesn't fit yet but hopefully it will because I love it Razz But you have to get Part 2, because the original is just a rap song that's about an abusive relationship. Baha.]]

Blaine watched Mitch walk away from him and over to Kelli, gently talking to her about something. He couldn't understand, but knew it was probably important, so he said nothing and sat down, letting his feet dip into the river, scattering the few fish swimming there.
Chuckling, he watched the river life. It was so different up here. Peaceful and bustling with life. The water was slower, the elevation less steep, and the temperature a little warmer. Maybe that was what happened when you just let yourself slow down and enjoy life. It became filled with oppertunities and enjoyments.
That would be a nice change.

Kelli watched as Mitch limped over to her. She picked a flower from the ground and absently began pulling petals from it, throwing them carelessly over her shoulder. It was pretty, dark blue with random splashes of aqua, as if an artist had speckled his container of light blue over it. What kind was it? Maybe wherever they went she could adopt an alias and study plantology - or whatever it was called.
Sighing she looked up at Mitch when he began talking to hergently, as if she was a little kid. Was she? No, but she did have the innocence and knowledge of one. A year in college had not prepared her for this kind of life, despite the heavy tuitioon she was paying. The thought made her frown. What would the college dean do once she knew she was dead? Although she technically wasn't dead...
She didn't start when Mitch touched her face with his worn and calloused hand. She'd been expecting it. It was kind of like an instinct now, knowing what he would do. But then again she'd had it when they were little. Maybe it'd just come back.
Kelli looked up and met his eyes sadly.
"I don't belong here, Mitch."

Post  Polo trapped in an inkpot Sun Jan 15, 2012 10:42 am

((Cool, I'll hunt that down. Wink ))

Those five words hit Mitch with the force of a wrecking ball, and the only thing that kept him from breaking down completely, was the fact that he had been expecting them.
Every dream had to end, after all... Evidently, it was time to wake up.
"I know." He replied, swallowing thickly.
His heart felt heavy with disappointment, but he smiled through it, and caressed Kelli's soft cheek with his thumb.
He thought back over the previous day - the rush of shocking emotion when he'd heard her voice in that burning building... The shock when she'd suddenly recognised him, and the painful confusion that had followed when she hugged him as though not a day had passed. Then there was the sheer relief, the blissful elation, as he had accepted it and hugged her back.
They had talked and laughed together, just like old times, and he had slowly started to find himself...
He remembered his amused pride when she had stolen a puff of his joint - then the passionate moment shared so closely after. He could still see the intensity in her eyes - the seductive stance as she'd walked toward him - and they'd stood so close, just breathing, and wanting each other... Wanting, but not taking.
He remembered how comfortable he had been sleeping beside her... How right it felt, just to be with her again - and suddenly he knew, he could not let that go. He had lost her once, and that had been his fault. He had thought he could make it without her - but those were the foolish delusions of a cowardly boy. He was a man now, and he would not give up so easily.
"You may not belong here..." He repeated firmly, "But you belong with me." He pulled her towards him, and hugged her tightly - showing absolutely no regard for Blaine's presence, despite the fact that it was Hellishly embarrassing for Mitches to be showing such pathetic softness.
"I can't let you go again, Kelli." He murmured, closing his eyes and holding her close to his warm chest, feeling her heart beat in time with his. "You're my best friend..."
And I've loved you for as long as I can remember.

'Scars' (Polopocalypse and Battleaxe) - Mature Content - Page 4 Empty Re: 'Scars' (Polopocalypse and Battleaxe) - Mature Content

Post  Batcat Sun Jan 15, 2012 10:57 am

Kelli sighed under his touch. Oh, how she'd missed him by her side every minute of every day. Even when they were supposed to be in bed asleep in different wings of the orphanage, they'd sneak out, going to the roof and talking about anything and everything, from what they were going to do when they got older to what they would do if something happened and they could get out right then. Watching the stars with the cool breeze blowing in their faces, she could almost believe she was happy there. He was always her best friend, always had been, always would be. If only they hadn't ended up in this situation.
But even now as fugitives, they still had a spark, a connection. She loved him, he loved her, but she didn't know how much. Certainly enough to stick by his side through everything, but did she love him that way?
She wanted to marry him when she was younger, but that was because he was her best friend. He was everything she wasn't, her own version of imperfect perfection.
Sighing she looked up at him and was surprised when he squeezed her into a hug. He'd never been one for PDA, even when everyone knew that they were just friends. Hesitantly, she wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his chest and hugged him back like they used to do when they were younger. Squeeze until they couldn't breathe. Sometimes it would be a contest.
So she tightened her arms as much as she could around her torso, letting the tears stream from her face and soaking his shirt with their saltiness. She would never ever let him go. She couldn't. And now that she knew he wasn't going to let her go either, she felt so much better. That was good.
After a moment she pulled away and leaned on her tiptoes, kissing him quickly on the lips. "Sorry about your shirt." She said smiling, then turned away, walking back to the river, still sniffling, and jumped.

Post  Polo trapped in an inkpot Sun Jan 15, 2012 11:16 am

((Hehe. 'Mitches'. XD Me and my typos today... Wink ))

When Kelli hugged him back, Mitch was relieved, and just held her quietly while she cried. Finally, she pulled away, and he merely smiled and shook his head when she apologised about the shirt.
Just like Kelli...
"What're you crying for?" He murmured as he limped after her.
He paused at the riverbank, pulling a face, then carefully placed one foot in the water. He grumbled mutinously at the feeling of the cold, wet stuff on his foot - so unlike the fire he so adored.
With a heavy sigh, he put his other foot into the river, and limped forward a step, tesing the current. It wasn't strong, and the water wasn't too deep - about up to his knees - but it was difficult to balance...
He could see his blood clouding up the water as it rushed around his injured calf, and he shuddered at the icy sting.
He just hoped this water was clean... Infection was never a good thing.
"Y'coming, Bee?" Mitch called back over his shoulder, glancing to where Blaine was sitting on the riverbank.
Truthfully, he thought he might need help crossing here - but he was too proud to ask for it.
